DO NOT GET A GROUPON AND CALL HERE!!!! This review actually doesn't have anything to do with Anthony, the owner. I bought a Groupon for one of his "stylists" named Josie Pizzo. I called her the first time and she did call me back, but the voicemail was rude. I called her back 4 times after this and she completely ignored my calls. The whole reason I bought the Groupon was to get my hair and my daughters hair done for Christmas. Well, neither of us was able to do that because of her rudeness. I even told her on the messages that I really needed her to call me back because of that reason, clearly she didn't care. I have read 1 million bad reviews about the salon, and I see where they were all coming from now. I don't know this for certain, but I'm guessing that because I had a Groupon she didn't even bother to call me back. So terribly disappointing. I will be trading in that Groupon now for a more reputable salon, which I should've done in the first place. Again, this is an about Anthony, the owner of the salon devotion. I was reading some of the older reviews and i have to say I don't really agree with what the others had to say about this salon. Thankfully, they are older reviews so please don't pay too much attention to them. :) Anthony did my hair & makeup for my wedding in October along with most of my bridal party, mother, aunts and grandmother. I have been going to Anthony for years, he is a the top of his game! In fact I have followed him for the last eight years! I am a long haired girl that trusts him with my hair and would refer him to anyone. My mother has lost her hair due to breast cancer and he went out and got her specialty shampoos to help with the chemical burns. He goes above the call of duty! His prices are very reasonable and in comparison to other salons and ladies I do mean salons(not borics or master cuts)! Let me begin by saying do NOT buy a Groupon for this place. Groupon customers are treated shabbily. When I went in for a cut/color, Anthony, the owner said it would cost an additional $40 if I wanted all over color. When I questioned that, he said "it says so in the fine print". At that point, when I was sitting there, I said fine, since I did not have a choice. He then said he would do only a touch up and not charge me extra. I felt like he ripped me off, doing a root touch up instead of all over color. He started coloring my hair when a regular customer (who obviously pays full price) walked in. He went back and forth between her and me, which annoyed me to no extent. He had to answer the phone a couple of times, so there were too many interruptions between answering the phone and attending to the other customer. I am a small business owner and I give every prospect/client my undivided attention. Going back and forth between clients is never an option. I think it's very rude, maybe it's just me? When I went home, I noticed that he hadn't covered my grey hair completely. He hadn't touched the hair by my ears at all. He seemed to be in a rush to get me out of there so he could concentrate on the client who was a regular. I did not get a good vibe and felt uneasy at this place. He asked all kinds of weird questions, almost to the point of being nosy. It's pretty obvious he doesn't care for Groupon customers. My question is why does he bother with the Groupon deal? I've been going to see Anthony Agostini for over 5 years now, and have been a Salon Devotion customer since he opened it up. I go out of my way to see him. He always gets my color just right, and seems to know what style I want without my even telling him. My hair is very fine and "unforgiving" when it comes to a poor cut. He's never let me down. I really wanted to like this place, however I was a bit uncomfortable by the time I finished my appointment. The salon was clean and appealing, nice decor. The stylist did not want to do what I had asked for and pushed me into a different style. They were also a bit miffed that I had a Groupon and upcharged me for a toner that I did not see the results of in my hair. I've had my hair colored, toned, and highlighted before and it did not look like what I asked for or preferred. I felt rushed out of the salon at the end and did not feel like I wanted to come back. I was not comfortable voicing my concerns with the end product because the stylist did not take much time to talk to me at all and I was rushed out. read more

So upset I was there friday!! Got a haircut and highlights.....the haircut was ok, cut off more than I would like but my highlights are horrible!!! They are a completely different color than my existing highlights. Not like you can tell in the salon it's dark in there and the lighting is horrible. I will never go back... the environment was dirty everywhere I looked there was dried up hair clippings... not like fresh hair clippings like old clippings caked onto the molding and bottom of the chairs. I never write reviews... I even had to download yelp, that's how angry I am. Stay clear of this place if you are getting highlights.. they are sloppy and the WRONG color. If your looking for a cheap haircut and that's it, then this is the place for you.... good luck! read more

I wish I had looked at this sooner. First off, I actually think the staff was very friendly and I had a good time there. With that being said, it's been about a week and slowly I'm stewing over this experience. When I left the girl asked me if I liked it, from what I could tell at that time it was ok. However, my hair needs flat ironed to see the full result, which they did not have/or do there. After I washed and styled the cut looked choppy. The girl that did my hair was very nice and professional, but while talking to her I learned that she was barely 20 so she didn't have much experience which I could tell by the way she was cutting it. I understand time makes experience, but I also feel I should have been informed. Also, looking back at my groupon, I did not receive the conditioning treatment either. And lastly, my groupon stated "full highlights", which I did not receive, just some in the back was not done, also they were spariningly done, so I can still see my roots. The girl made a comment to me how the groupon gets you less highlights, but I expect when I pay for something that stated full highlights, to receive full highlights. I'm new to this area trying to find a regular salon, looks as if I might need to find another to take my business too. read more

I agree with Marie! Got a groupon and Anthony still charged me more because my hair was "long". First of all, there was a half drunk glass of wine on the front desk. It was ONLY him and I in the entire salon. I paid for and wanted highlights, he did all over color. I showed him a pretty specific picture if what I wanted for the cut. It was a bob that fell below my collar bone with bangs. I never got the bangs and my hair is above the shoulder! When he styled it I was too embarrassed to go do my other errands because my hair looked like a helmet! I got a weird vibe from him and since we were alone I didn't argue or let him know my dissatisfaction. I just went home and cried. read more

I forgot to add that he did not do the deep conditioning. Anthony called me after he read my review to try to "fix" things with me. He wanted me to come back in so he could see where I was unhappy. I do not have time for that and would not want him touching my hair again! He asked me to let people know that he reached out. I didn't say anything to him at the time of my hair cut because it was just him and me and I'm not a confrontational kind of person. My gut also told me to run. Wish I would have listened. Oh and he told me his product is organic so it didn't need to sit on my hair long. So I guess the product he uses for deep conditioning only needs 30 seconds as opposed to EVERY other product out there that sits on your hair for a little bit! read more

This place is a joke! I seriously think Anthony is the only person that works there. If you notice there is no other reviews on any other stylists. His talent, customer service and overall lack of completing customers requests make this guy unqualified to cut hair. I purchased a groupon and felt stuck to complete my service even when My gut said walk out. Thankfully groupon gave me groupon bucks for the full amount. I REALLY wish I would have read these reviews before going to this salon and letting Anthony touch my hair!!! He did the EXACT same thing to me that I'm now reading here.... did a full color when I wanted highlights stating my hair was too long and that "the best thing to do would be to start over". I could have handled the color (definitely not what I wanted) but then he proceeded with the haircut. When he showed me the back in the mirror it looked extremely choppy and the "medium layers" went in a straight line across the back of my hair, looked terrible. Then this is where I made second biggest mistake. I asked do you think you could blend the layers (really a layer) a little bit? So then he proceeded to cut and cut and cut without saying a word and when he was done the beautiful long hair I HAD was gone and the horrible layer was even worse!! All he said was well "you can still put it in a ponytail"!!! My hai looks ABSOLUTELY AWFUL and I am going to be so embarrassed to go to work (or anywhere else for that matter). Not to mention I have brown hair dye covering the entire frame or my face, which I'm sure will quickly come off (I hope) but how sloppy, uncaring and inexperienced can someone be that supposedly has 18 years of "experience" be?? PLEASE if you like your hair at all or care about how you look when you leave a "salon" DONT let him touch your hair!!! Oh and I almost forgot to add he said the same thing to me about how wonderful and up to date his products are so there was no need to leave the conditioner on for any period of time and then proceeded to yank my hair out with every pull of the comb! read more

First time going to Salon Devotion using a groupon and not impressed at all. My appt. was for 1:00 and was not in the chair till 1:30. Anthony called me a groupon hopper when he found out that I don't have a regular stylist. He was very hyper and direct with his questions and made me feel uncomfortable in explaining what I wanted done. When he started to wash out my highlights, he had to stop and leave me sitting with my head in the bowl for about 10 mins to handle an issue on the phone which he was very irritated about. In the chair to cut, he left me again for about 10 mins to get back on the phone about the same issue. Very uncomfortable. My cut is not what I wanted at all and my sides are uneven and chopped. Worst experience ever, wouldn't even go back to have it fixed. ugh guess I'll just hop to another groupon to a better reputable salon. read more

I completely agree with other reviewers in that I had a bad feeling about this place when I walked in, and I should have trusted my gut and left. I cannot even begin to process the experience I had at Salon Devotion Hair Salon. The stylist asked me how I heard of their salon and I told him through Groupon. After I showed him the Groupon, he up charged my services. I wasn't happy but agreed. He then went off on me about my attitude (which I started off extremely polite because I never want anyone screwing up my hair) and then told me I wasn't going to be a good match. I left. This was all after he was extremely rude to me on the phone when I made the appointment, and after I walked in and wasn't greeted for 10 minutes while everyone stood around talking and laughing and not working. My daughter and I went to Salon Devotion today for the first time and loved it!!! Stephanie is wonderful!! She did the color I've been looking for that no other stylist I've been to could get right!! My daughter got ombre highlights and they look amazing!! Blended beautifully and very natural looking. Anthony the owner is great!! He made sure we were comfortable and taken care of. I was looking for a new salon and bought a Groupon for a high light, haircut & deep conditioning. I was nervous cause it was a new salon & stylist! I'd have to say, what an amazing experience! Anthony, the owner did my hair. Not only did he take the time with me cause he saw I was nervous but he also suggested what he thought would look good on me. I was so comfortable within minutes that I told him to do whatever he wanted. The final results were amazing. The high lights were a perfect blonde. The cut/style was beautiful.
