My daughter came out crying!!! We are latin by the way. My daughter suffers from high anxiety and is on the spectrum. just going to ask for an appointment was hard enough. Being treated in such a crapy manner was not ok. I was furious I did go on line and they had plenty of appointments available. So not sure what the issue was. After having been spoiled by stylists from La Jolla, to Manhattan Beach to Pasadena, CA, after relocating to the PNW, I started my search in Portland. After a few failed attempts in coordinating appointments at top salons in Portland (they rescheduled and then I had to reschedule, then they rescheduled), I asked a colleague where she had just gone (her coloring looked fantastic). She referred me to Nico Bella. I called and immediately got an appointment with Wendee. Located in downtown Camas, I have always been able to find a parking spot within a block. Its a cute little shop that offers other treatments (I have used the manicurist, too). Once having my hair done by Wendee, I have never wandered. It's refreshing to have a stylist give you an honest opinion when experimenting with a new hairdo or look. Plus, I look forward to escaping the hectic work day to her quiet salon and leaving revitalized. As if that wasn't enough, during Covid, she has developed the best salon safety protocols hands down. I have sent multiple family members to visit her salon, feeling assured that she follows so many safety protocols. Plus, family members have left feeling the way I do. As I have discovered in the PNW, you don't need to be in the big city, to find a gem.

My wife has been going there for about a year and…read morehad a terrible experience a week ago and was too distraught to post the review so I asked her to calmly explain what happened. She arrived and was instructed to sign in. She filled out her name and started to answer other questions such as email and birthdate. It was not an IPad and the keyboard was different than she was used to. She got frustrated trying to backspace and correct spelling. Knowing that she had used the salon just three weeks prior she didn't feel they needed all that info to be repeated so she gave up and sat down. A man she had never seen before approached her with the tablet and pointed out nicely that the info was not completed. She stated that the salon had the info from her appointment three weeks ago and she didn't need to repeat all the information again. He stated that she did indeed need to fill it all out. She stated that it wasn't necessary as it was in their system. He said she HAD to fill it out. She was frustrated with his attitude and stated that she could just use another salon. He became angry and told her to "please leave". She was taken aback and stated that she had an appointment. He restated that she was to "please leave. Just leave please! Go! Leave please." Her hair stylist started to approach her so she told her she was being kicked out. She asked why and my wife told her she didn't fill out the information. At this point the the man is continuing to point and repeat in a raised voice. "Please leave! Please leave." The number of times he stated "leave please" was shocking. She turned to go and stated that he was rude and she left the salon. This all happened in front of the hair stylists and all the clients. She was stunned and couldn't believe she had just been kicked out of the hair salon by a man she'd never seen before. She was also shocked that her hair stylist did not contact her to reschedule (though she would not have done that anyway) or to check on her after being yelled at and disrespected. Apparently there was no concern for well being following such a publicly escalated incident

I found her after my previous stylist had scheduling conflicts and that flu bug hit her hard at a time I wasn't able to wait. I had just been through a health issue that had left my hair dry, broken, thin and just plain awful. Fatima rescued me! She conditioned my hair so it began its slow recovery. She trimmed and shaped it so I didn't look like a sea hag any longer! (I am not exaggerating!) Now, about 9 months later, my hair has regained its thickness and shine.
