I have been seeing Anna Egan for cut and color since early October 2016. She's amazing with blonde hair which oddly can be a pain especially for those of us who tend to pull red and brassy tones. I never have to direct Anna in regards to color or cut/style as she just does Her thing and it turns out perfect. I love that I can go In, sit and she does her thing. The color she uses also keeps my grey hair covered far longer than other color brands I've had used on me over the years. Drove my daughter there because she needed hair color for a photo shoot. She was nervous because she just came out of the gym and was wearing sweats and no makeup. But thought it would be quick to just go in and ask for an appointment. After walking in no one helping her or asking if she needed something. She finally asked someone for an appointment. The first lady looked at her and said she could't take it asked two others and the looked at her and said they didn't want to it would take too long and they were tired they didn't have anything available. and were very rude and dismissive. My daughter came out crying!!! We are latin by the way. My daughter suffers from high anxiety and is on the spectrum. just going to ask for an appointment was hard enough. Being treated in such a crapy manner was not ok. I was furious I did go on line and they had plenty of appointments available. So not sure what the issue was. This ladies don't need any more costumers. She was only asking to book an appointment by the way. I never leave bad reviews but this place needs to work on their customer service. read more

I had one appointment with Rose. I get to my appointment, and she comes from the back, saying "didn't you get my calls and texts?!" Keep in mind, I had never met this woman. She says she's running behind, and I look at my phone. I got no calls OR texts, and my booking account is very current. I ask for the wait time. She says 30 minutes. She made me wait 70. After my haircut I got bombarded with calls and texts. (I needed to give her a selfie, is the necklace in the shop mine, etc..) When I finish with a haircut that's what I'm there for - only a haircut. That's it. I blocked her # and now I've had other women from the shop show up on my FB account. I'm not coming back to Allure, I got gaslit by someone I don't even know. read more

BUYER BEWARE I have never been so disappointed in a service and felt the need to warn others until now. I went in one day hoping to get some tape in extension installed on a whim and was convinced on another much more expensive technique which sounded promising for my ultimate hair goals. I put down a $650 deposit for the cost of the hair and scheduled my installation appointment. When I showed up for the appointment the hair was a questionable match at best. But her and her mom teamed up to convince me it was the right color and a "perfect match". I was shocked when she took the hair right out of the bag and was going to put it on my head without washing and clarify before hand. I watch enough tik tok to know that extension hair needs to be double clarified prior to installation. I also asked her how long the service would take since I knew it was going to cost me another $650 dollars. She said 1.5 hours which shocked me considering the cost of such a luxury service. She also only put on 2/3 of the hair that I paid for which was shocking. I asked if I could keep the extra hair in which she told me she normally doesn't allow but she would this time which was surprising due to the cost of the hair that I know I paid for. When I left I was really excited about the length but when I got home I noticed how thin and not blended my hair was and all of my loved ones confirmed how awful they looked (there is no denying this when you look at the photos). I then consulted with two different hair stylists at two separate salons that confirmed what I should expect for the price point I paid with Shelby. What I have learned is that for $1300 worth of hair / services, I should have received custom colored hair extensions and at a minimum fully washed clarified, and properly installed extensions with enough hair installed to blend by layering the extensions with them still looking full at the ends. They were not blended at all unless wearing half up/ half down and look thin at the ends. You could see my blunt hairline where my hair ends and no smooth transition between the two. Both stylists I had spoken to agreed that I needed much more hair installed for how thick my natural hair is and that services like this typically take several hours. For the $650 dollar appointment I was expecting that my hair be wash/ dried and styled as well as the extension hair to have been pre washed and dried. Leaving the appointment you told me I could go home and wash it if I wanted which I was surprised by considering the total cost of the services. Because this is such an expensive/ luxury service I felt more comfortable having someone else fix it. And I requested a refund. Shelby has not responded to any communications on how she plans to make things right leaving me to have to formally dispute the charge with my credit card. Extremely unprofessional. I have since had it fixed by another stylist who has more experience with extensions. read more

The salon is nice the vibe between the hairstylists is nice but my stylist was very unskilled in washing comfort and technique, very uncomfortable chairs and dryer machine technique my neck needed a massage after and just the over all styling was not relaxing at all. Noy did an exceptional job with my hair! I went in for a balayage and hair cut and was extremely impressed with the results. I had only had my hair colored once previously by another stylist and was nervous about working with someone new. However, I needn't have feared. The color turned out beautifully - no lines and not too light - and with the fresh hair cut, my hair looked and felt so healthy. A few hours before my apt, Anika texted me letting me know she had the availability to move my apt up an hour earlier. I was greeted promptly on my arrival and was in and out in an hour. DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON FOR WAXING. They have BURNED MY SKIN. I have gotten waxed my whole life and have never had such bad experience. My eyes are now swollen because of the inconsideration of how hot the wax was and I have had to go to urgent care to get treatments. The waxing specialist, Olga, did not even ask if my wax was the right temperature, did not ask if I'm okay afterwards and worse of all, it does not even look like my eyebrows were done. I didn't realize they hire people straight out of beauty school I would expect at a salon of this caliber they would only hire people with an extensive background, but that's not the case. I admit, I am not a fan of the general feeling of this shop. It is dripping in pretentiousness and seems fond of its Mean Girls vibe. However, I've been THRILLED with Susan G. and her work. She is hilarious, so warm and, talented! My whole family has gone to her, despite very steep prices. However, at a recent visit, I was really disappointed that the stylists were not all wearing masks. Some were wearing little face shields, more like a chin visor. I have no idea what this is supposed to accomplish as it clearly has no impact on dissuading transmission. My original review was done in the car after I had just had my hair finished. Now that I have had a chance to really think about experience and my hair I need to update the review. I came in on a Wednesday and I had an appointment for a cut and balayage color. I waited 30 minutes past my appointment time for the stylist. I had gotten off work early to make this appointment and was frustrated that it wasn't on time. she eventually brought me back and essentially said what a horrible haircut I had and it was going to be hard to salvage. My hair was well past my shoulders and I didn't notice that there was ever anything wrong with the cut, Excluding that it had grown out. I told her I wanted to leave as much length as possible and she explained with such a bad haircut I would lose most of the length. She cut my hair and it barely touches my shoulders. She also explained that she would not have time to do the color because she didn't realize that I had so much hair and I would need to come back for a second appointment to get the balayage color. I was highly annoyed and disappointed. I had lost money by coming in that day and rearranging my work schedule, also she was 30 minutes late, but I agreed to come in on Friday and have her do the color. So I came back again and she told me how she wanted to incorporate the gray that is coming in my hair into my color and I explained that I wanted the gray covered. I told her what I was looking for and instead of the balayage - She used some foils, again I was disappointed because I wanted to try that technique. When it was finally over it looked very nice in the mirror and I was pleased with it for about an hour. Once I got home pulled my hair back I saw that none of my gray was covered. I didn't get the treatment I had asked for and I had to spend two afternoons there instead of The one appointment I booked. I paid for two appointments and I paid for a service that I did not get. It's partly my fault for not demanding what I had asked for and what I paid for. So no, I won't be going back to that salon again. I'm not normally a passive person, but I really feel like I got played on this one. But again it is my own fault for not speaking out about what I wanted. So there are two totally different reviews on my experience - The second one is when I really had a chance to digest the entire experience and also pay attention to my credit card statement on what I paid for and what I actually got. And time to look at my hair and see that it wasn't what I asked for at all. I am not going back, in fact I am going to find someone else that can fix my hair and cover the gray and provide the services I requested, not make me wait 30 minutes and then have me schedule a second appointment when they just didn't feel like finishing it the first time, because there was no appointment after me. I think the hairdresser saw me as easy mark -I told her about my husband being killed only a few months before. It was obvious that I was very upset and still grieving - I think she saw that and knew I wasn't going to defend myself or a horrible, horrible job she did on my hair. read more

Went and got my hair done with Elise and I am in love!! I just moved to Vancouver and was in need of a fall look and i could not have picked someone better. The color was exactly as I wanted it and she did a great job blending it all. The salon was quite on this Sunday morning and we enjoyed the music and rain. I'm definitely disappointed in the lack of care my daughter received. For her 16th birthday we scheduled for her to get lashes put on. I scheduled online knowing the cost and assuming we would get high end care. While the lash gal was friendly and kind she didn't really help with a lot of aftercare Or lash fill info. While I understand not all lashes stay as a new eyes to lashes, it seemed sneaky and immature to try and reschedule my daughter after being told the following day would not work and schedule her for a service that cost more money. I was not there while she tried to hustle my 16yr old, my 18yr old son was present, but I'm appalled and completely disappointed in the money run and selfish desire for scheduling. I get wanting days off of work, but if you scheduled an appointment and than asked to reschedule and were told no by the mom, why try and sneak your way around when moms not present.
