However, I stopped in about a week ago for their mani/pedi promo and apparently the woman servicing me was "tired". Totally understandable, I was tired myself. However, I do believe that putting real energy behind being approachable and friendly is important when you're feeling tired or something.. just about having a little etiquette (just my opinion) So.. I was unsure about the way she conducted herself with me. I wanted to be understanding but she just seemed uninterested in servicing me in general and apparently wasn't about to try to be anything other than "tired", like I should accept that as a paying customer. My stylist is Jen S. and she not only can do the wild rainbow colors, but she took my brunette teen daughter to platinum blonde safely and beautifully. Disappointed in service. Going to another salon to get hi-lights fixed because the color is so dull you can't even see that anything was done. Barely any hi-lights for over $100 and the color is less bright than before. Toner was applied without asking and I prefer not to tone as the color looks faded. Not sure what happened...maybe the color wasn't processed long enough or toner caused the dull look but definitely not blonder or brighter. read more

The WORST no chip manicure I have ever had! First of all, they don't use enough acetone to remove old polish. Therefore using the proper tool (metal scraper) is not possible so they use a file on the entire nail, hence, thinning the nail to almost nothing. Four of my nails broke so low I had to wear Band-Aids. All within one week! From the acetone, which is on a small pad within a sealed foil packet to the polish used seems to be the cheapest product. It wasn't my nail tech's fault, every tech was using the same technique which tells me it's the ownership. Not to mention they charge you to remove old polish if isn't theirs. My tech told me it's not her policy, it's the owners. To sum it up....My nail tech was very nice and only doing her job as she's instructed to do.. The ownership is trying to cut corners, by doing so just ruining customers nails. Think twice before purchasing a groupon to this poorly run salon. read more

I have been a licensed and practicing massage therapist for 25 years. After my in person interview I was led to believe I had been hired and just had to return to give the receptionist Molly a massage. After giving her a one hour massage without any negative comments, I was told Vance would be reaching out to me with final details. After not hearing back from Vance after one week, I again reached out, two more times, inquiring about the job and asking for any information or feedback. Both messages went unanswered. I feel I was scammed into giving a free massage to an employee. Since he did not give me the position or even the common courtesy of an explanation or return call or text, I feel I should have therefore been monetarily compensated for my service. read more

I had my hair bleached, toned, and cut by Vera. She was honestly one of the best stylists I've ever had!!! My nearly black, long, and over grown roots were crazy (no one to see during the shut down), and I keep my hair bleach blonde with a t14 toner (almost white, ashy). Afraid of doing it on my own and getting "hot roots," I booked an appointment. I'm haven't had a salon to go to since moving from NYC, so was a bit nervous about having someone new do my hair, but thank goodness I found her, and this place. Shelly J has been my stylist for over 10 years (and three different salons!) so when it came to my big day, I knew there was only one person I wanted to do my hair for my wedding! While I know how thorough she is for my regular cuts/styles, she was extra attentive to my needs as a bride. During my trial, she spent time before even touching my hair to look at pictures of styles I had saved and talking me through exactly what I wanted done with my hair. On the big day itself, she took my instructions and subtle changes I requested from my trial hair and created the perfect look for me. The best part was that my hair stayed in all night! After years and years of searching for a new hair home, I've finally found it! I bought a Groupon here for highlights and a cut and so decided to make the trip down south to Salon Evangelos....totally worth it!!! I had an appointment with Diane...get this, she asked me what I wanted and then listened, and then asked more questions about my color and listened more! So I ended up with the PERFECT colored highlights (just what I wanted, and I didn't even know exactly what I wanted). I praise Diane for having the patience to cut my hair...I explained, in detail, my aversion to hair cuts since my infamous experience with a previous hair stylist and his razor blade that he took to the front sections of my hair (GULP). So after waiting over a year for my next cut, Diane was really good and careful not to cut too much. Since my color was so shiny, lustrous, and amazing I decided to call in and compliment her on her work...the lady on the phone told me how they use a special yogurt-based natural dye from Italy...totally sold me on coming back for all my color needs. Truth be told, there was a noticable difference in my color and in the process...it didn't have that heavy ammonia smell that usually takes at least 3 washes to get out! YAY. One slight minor thing...when I called to confirm my appointment they had switched me from Diane to another stylist. I told them that I had requested her and the girl on the phone gave me some serious attitude about it since I had never been to the salon before...that kind of annoyed me but the salon services made up for it luckily! read more

I have been getting my hair done at salon evangelos for over 6 years. All the hair stylists are highly skilled. My hair stylist, Shelly, has consistently taken the time to highlight and cut my hair and also shows me styles to try at home. I always look forward to my hair appointments because Shelly and I have such a great time together. Typically we both laugh until tears at some point in the hour. I am especially thankful for the TLC I received last summer from Vera. I was struggling emotionally because of a terrible marriage and had an incredibly restrictive budget. She picked up on my disposition and showed me compassion. Her number one prerogative with me that day was to help me feel better about myself and she did that with her encouragement as well as her talent as a hair stylist. I went to this Salon for the first time, hopping to finally find a hairstylist that could understand what I want and I found her, Brittany was great. I was offered and bought a hair conditioner $17 in which a toner was added. I PAID IN TOTAL FOR THAT HAIR CONDITIONER $40 !! When I opened the bottle I was shocked to see the amount of "toner" added, the size of a pea!! and for that charged extra $20 dlls ???? More expensive than the whole bottle of hair conditioner, which by the way, was not cheap. Brittany was very nice and the rest of the staff too but I still can't believe I was charged $20 for a pea size toner when I am pretty sure you need way more than that to touch up hight-lights. I had bought a Groupon for a no chip manicure and a pedicure. The woman who did it, I think her name was Chrissy, was really nice and great to talk to. But her work was just so awful. Very unprofessional. The pedicure was not great and uncomfortable. I felt like she didn't know what she was doing. Also the nail polish looks really bad. And as for my no chip manicure, some of my nails chipped right away that same day and it looked horrible, as if a child had put on the polish. And she messed up my cuticles really bad. She even made my thumb bleed and messed up my skin all around the nails. Not only did it look bad but my nails really hurt. I had to completely remove all my polish as soon as possible and had to make sure I get my cuticles and nails healthy again. It was by far the worst place I've ever gotten a mani pedi. I don't know if she had no experience or she just didn't care. The only reason I gave two stars instead of one was because she seemed like a nice person. I would never ever get a Groupon from this place. I've never gotten my hair done here, but I definitely will never try considering how horrible the mani pedi was. read more

I really want to like this place but I can say with all honestly the worst and most uneven haircut I've received in my life was here. Today I had a no chip mani and REALLY liked the nail tech's personality (Janet?) and thought she did a good yet quick job. Could have it been better? Yes, upon close inspection. Will I try her again? The people are very friendly and accommodating. Although, I asked for the ombré style hair color. I received chunky highlights that almost reached my roots, looking like overgrown highlights that I might have done on my own. In the back, there is a clear cut line of where my hair ends and the highlights begin. I'm pretty sure I had a seasoned hair stylist, as all the other employees were coming to ask her questions. This salon is a hidden gem! I love my stylist, Shelly. She is super sweet, funny, and best of all she does an excellent job. Shelly is always ready to shake things up when I request it - I've had multiple shades of red hair, strawberry blonde, blonde highlights, lowlights, and other looks in between. She is also a master at cutting hair - I've had short and long hair, and she cuts and styles it perfectly. My sister even books a visit with Shelly when she is in from out-of-town -- that's how great Shelly is! I love the atmosphere of the salon; it's very clean and sanitary, and they have a great product selection. The cost is a bit pricey, but that's expected for a nice salon with talented stylists.
