Overall, Salon Halo was a disappointing experience for me. I originally reached out to Melissa for a hair color, on 22 January. She did the exact color I was looking for on an acquaintance and they had passed her number along to me. After sending photos of my hair goals, hair inspiration and current hair we set an appointment for 15 February. The morning of the appointment at 0621 she texts to cancel due to illness. I was able to rebook it with her for 5 March, but again on the morning of the appointment she canceled due to lack of childcare. So, after waiting over a month for the appointment I was cancelled twice and did not make a priority to promptly rebook. She offered to talk with a coworker that was available before, which I stated was fine with me. This may have been naïve on my part, but I did assume she would only recommend someone of the same skill level. Cindy promptly reached out after Melissa and I spoke, and offered to book me that same week. I sent the exact photos from Melissa and I's texts to Cindy. My hair goals, hair inspiration and current hair. Which had grown out more while waiting on my appointment for Melissa but manageable. Before my appointment started, and as stated in my text I confirmed I wanted my hair copper/strawberry blonde. The ends of my hair in the photos were my goal, and really, I wanted it to be brought up to my roots. Covering my natural brunette hair. The conversation went well, and there seemed to be comprehension on my color. I could care less about cost, or application to achieve the color. We didn't go into too much detail on that. After she washed the color from my hair, I realized it was a cool blonde, no where close to a warm copper/strawberry blonde. The color also did not go entirely to my roots, and you can see my natural color in places. Cindy stated I was not blonde, "It's the lighting". After some back and forth, she said my hair color wasn't achievable because I had filters on my hair. I directly asked for the color on my ends to be brought up as we spoke in person. There isn't a filter in person, and the current hair photos in our texts had no filter. We stated I wasn't seeing the color correctly and it was what I asked for. I then had to show a photo of my partner and I from that morning, where my color is completely different from the blonde she did. In fact, the blonde matched my partners hair. Only then did she say she could put copper over it and that I wasn't clear on it. Honestly, I felt defeated at this point and agreed if that was our only option, but it still didn't cover my roots or natural color. She said that's normal with foils, they don't go to "The scalp". I was at a loss at this point. The copper she put over the blonde isn't the worst, but it wasn't what I wanted. The haircut was underwhelming. I asked for face framing and layers, even provided photos but it wasn't even close. My bangs and ends were just cut straight across. I didn't go into depth about disappointment with the cut. We had already spent five hours together and the color wasn't going to be savable. She ended up curling my hair, so it wasn't till the next wash that I saw the lack of layers. Thankfully I ended up going to my normal Stylist to fix the cut, but sadly he doesn't do color and was at a loss as well. I found it incredibly unprofessional that I was still charged for the service. I do understand the time and materials, but I'm unhappy with the results. The results are too far off from what I asked for. I wouldn't recommend the salon for any service after this experience. read more

Oh my goodness. Love this place. Love Tammy. After venturing out and getting my very first Brazilian at a not so great, pretty shady establishment, I gave myself a pep talk and worked up the courage to try it again. After reading the awesome reviews of my fellow yelpers, I decided to give Tammy at Salon Halo a try. This place is clean and welcoming. Tammy was definetly able to calm my nerves and help me relax. She explained the whole process to me and forgave my unintentional cursing more than once. The ladies here are great (didnt even laugh at my bowlegged walking) and I couldn't help but make a hair appointment on my way out. read more

Oh. My. Gosh. I just had the best Brazilian!! Tammy is simply amazing! She's personable, knowledgable and QUICK! I was very leery about getting my second ever Brazilian done. I mean who wouldn't. Especially when the first one was pretty scary and painful. But I decided to take the plunge again and I'm SO happy I did! I've already rebooked. Oh and did I mention she does AMAZING brows?! I had a lovely experience with Tammy the aesthetician getting a full set of lashes . you curl 15 long very very beautiful job definitely an artist. The salon is clean and modern and very laid-back yet professional at the same time would recommend to anybody that knows tired of going to a chain or corporate basil on where you get treated like you know just another number you will get treated with respect and care in the salon and will receive an excellent service with beautiful results. I came here for waxing and it was great! Tammy is very fast I was in and out within 25 min. I got the Brazilian and underarms done and its always a little awkward getting the Brazilian but Tammy makes you very comfortable. I definitely recommend going here. Tammy is the best!! The salon itself is adorably decorated, friendly, and clean. I had my second Brazilian waxing experience (first time was with someone in Texas and was awful and painful) with Tammy and was blown away! She's professional, fun/funny, and her technique was amazing. She was quick, thorough, and I was so impressed with how little it hurt. She was even nice enough to give me a discount for being military and a free underarm wax since it was my first time with that. Needless to say I scheduled my next appointment right after and definitely tipped :) She'll be my go-to waxing lady til it's time to move again. read more

Place is very nice to come into. Greated right at the door, was asked if I would like a refreshment. I asked for just water. I was in for my very first Brazilian wax, Tammy waxed me. She's very fast and didn't hurt at all really. But I am upset though. I fell like there is more hair to be removed. I came home and I feel like the wx broke my hair instead of pulling it out. I've been pluking my hairs down there because I still feel hairy. :/ I will probably be going to someone else. Or not even bothering anymore with a wax... I have been seeing Tammy for a brazilian wax consistently for several months now. I have been waxing for 10+ years and have been to many different people as I have moved frequently. She is wonderful! Her kind and pleasant demeanor will instantly put you at ease. Her consistent and studied technique have greatly reduced the number of painful ingrown hairs I am prone to. I came here on a recommendation of a coworker (with good hair). Thank goodness for this place!!! I moved from Texas and have been dying to find somewhere that can actually do hair ..... This place was awesome!.... Not in the best location, but don't let that discourage you... The salon is very clean and modern on the inside. I saw CC and she was great, really listened to what I wanted and she had some serious damage control to attend to (I went to a HORRIBLE place before finding this gem). The color, lowlights, highlights, and cut were done perfectly the FIRST time.... Meaning she knew what she was doing. She was super easy going and everyone was really nice. I will 1000% be back. Karen was super awesome! Very laid back and outgoing. She knew what she was doing and she paid attention to what I wanted. She made sure that she wasn't cutting too short and she did my layers and bangs beautifully! I love her and seriously didn't cost how much I normally pay for my hair to be cut. I have thick coarse hair and she did such an amazing job. The atmosphere was fun and energetic like people actually love doing what they do.
