I agree with Genn M as I experienced the same sort of thing happen to me. I have long hair, a little below the middle of my back, with a side part. and wanted a clean-up as I hadn't had my hair cut in 4 months. The things I specified were a blunt cut vs vertical cuts on the bottom, and to keep the long layers that I had. Well now, as it turns out, my sides have mostly chin length hair and the side my hair goes to was cut as inverted bob. Typically, you would cut the side in the opposite direction (going downward), so it blends with the longer hair. This does not blend, and it looks like I have a partial inverted bob on one side with long hair in the back. The other side just has chin length hair (some strands shorter than that!) on the other side. Its awful!! I cant believe someone would do this to your hair! I gave one star because when she asked about how much to cut off (showing me the very ends) I responded that we could cut more than that but did not specify. I did not however think that it would be 5 inches in overall length and 8 inches on the sides! Who does this? I will not be returning to Peppers Salon in the future. read more

Just some background, my entire life 30 years worth I've only been to one hair stylist. I found myself having to find another one when she moved. I was terrified of trying to find someone new and that I could trust. I found Paige at Peppers Salon, she was amazing. She explained everything, had a book with color samples (my previous one never used these but I wish she did) it helped ease a lot of nerves to physically see a color they were able to match exactly. The color she did was amazing! I don't think I've ever had a better color job, and it's lasting! I usually do reds of some sort which bleed worse than most colors I feel and yet this ones shine and vibrancy have lasted. Very impressed with Paige and the salon. Highly recommend! read more

Customer service is not there. The receptionists, my stylist (I'm not going to put her name out there) my color looks great. But it was honestly top five most awkward experiences. When she was finished putting color on, she left my hair down and rolled up in a towel. My hair was laying on the back of my neck with the color processing. I've been getting my hair colored almost 20 years now and everyone has always put it up and not left it on my neck. She then asked me if i wanted it curly when blow dried. I said i like it blown out with some curl in it. So when she's done blow drying it's pin straight. She said i decided to blow dry it straight because it wasn't holding curl. Which is odd because again my hair is naturally very wavy and i never heard this before. But to totally disregard what i said? She walked me up to the counter and i said thank you it really looks good (it does) she said something along the line of "yup have a good day." I know my feelings are my perception and this is totally subjective, but it felt like she couldn't get rid of me quick enough. read more

The whole Shebang: Being new to the area and searching for a new technician to cut and color my hair, yesterday was my first morning visiting Pepper's Salon. Luckily for me, I was able to quickly get an appointment as there had been a cancellation. Upon arrival I was pleasantly surprised with how large and beautifully decorated the salon was. It was gorgeous but still very cozy and inviting. The ladies at the front desk were very sweet and attentive offering coffee and water while I waited for Miss Taylor. (I was fairly early) Taylor was absolutely fabulous! She was thorough with her questioning of what type of treatment I was seeking for my hair. I informed her we had "fun in store" as it'd been six months since my last cut and color. I told her what tones and what I was looking for in my cut -- my girl delivered! The cut and color were both exactly what I'd been looking for. My hair now feels so great and healthy! It was so much fun getting to know Taylor and finding my new "hair hero". It is apparent that the owner of this salon has great standards and is sure her staff knows how to uphold them. This place deserves 5 stars all around. When I called for a quick bangs trim, they answered so friendly, and got me in within the hour! When another salon was quoting 5 hours being the soonest they could squeeze me in. The place is beautiful, inside and out. They had two people at the reception desk ready to greet me. I waited just a couple of minutes before the hairstylist Taryn warmly greeted me and took me to my chair. She spent time making sure the bangs were trimmed the way I wanted. I went in for a consultation with Heidi for hair extensions. I have always had thin hair and she assured me that my extensions wouldn't show. Once my extensions were applied by Lauren, I couldn't believe that I had just paid $600 for the extension tape to be seen all over! Then after just a couple of weeks I was already having extensions fall out. When asked if I could take the extra extensions elsewhere, they told me they were only to be kept in the salon. I kept in the extensions for just under a month and had to wear a hat everyday! The company does not care about their customers, only money! read more

UPDATE: I had my extensions moved up today at Style Bar, by Savannah. I went in at just over six weeks because of all the issues I'd had previously. My new stylist contacted me to set the appointment, for that reason. They still looked great and I could have easily gone another 2-3 weeks. Ladies, it's all about how they are placed and the amount of hair you secure between them. I reviewed Pepper's on their Facebook page, as had others, now they no longer allow reviews on Facebook. That is a huge red flag. The salon commented on my review, and tried telling me Abbie, the manager, had been trying to call me. That was just to save face. I've never received a call from them. I suggested she call me that day to discuss it, no call. I spent so much money there. They were charging more than my current salon and hadn't provided their stylists with proper education on extensions. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. This owner/manager only cares about the money. She has ZERO interest in customer care. I have waited to write this review because I wanted to be certain the problem was theirs and not mine. In October I went for a color correct. My hair was so damaged it had broken off all over. The stylists suggested extensions. Three of them looked at my hair. Then tried to sell me THREE packs of hair for over $800. I wasn't able to afford three, and suddenly the price changed to half that amount for two packs. I decided to go ahead with it. I had issues right off. The product I was sold were not supposed to cause further damage to my hair. I understand that is not a guarantee, and anticipated a learning curve for myself, as I have never had extensions before. I did everything I was advised to do, as well as researching myself when I started to have problems. Within days, I had breakage. I couldn't make it past 9 days without having to go in and have some redone. I was there every two weeks, after having been told I should be able to go 8-10 weeks between moving them up. The girls were great about it, the owner was not. I was told, via stylists, that I was the only one having issues, and eventually that they would no longer fix them if they broke off. I never met the owner, nor did she take the time to examine the extensions. I left a message, asking for a call. I spent well over $1,000 at this salon from October to January. During that time I was waiting on hold and heard a recording advertising their NEW SERVICE, extensions. In February I needed to have them moved. I had lost 8 due to breakage at that point. I found another salon for the service. The difference was noticeable immediately. They felt more secure, didn't bother me at all, and were much easier to blend with my own hair. It has been a month since I had them placed and I haven't had any issues... NONE. The girls at Peppers are great, but need more training on this service. The owner should have met with me to determine the cause, rather than place the blame on me. That is where my issue lies, solely in her lap. Had Abby taken the time to call me, and taken ownership of the issue, I would likely still be giving them my money. I was willing to help them learn why I was having so many problems. Now another salon, Style Bar Salon, will receive my patronage. read more

I use to be a loyal client here but the last time I went in right before my wedding they ruined my hair and turned it orange on top. They tried to cover it with a semi permanent dye and that just made it worse. Anyways I ended up paying over 200$ for terrible hair right before my wedding and had to go dark brunette which is not me at all. Looking back on my wedding photos I'm still pissed . Was charged $148 for a root touch up and trim for my long hair here at peppers. In Hawaii I was charged $89 and my stylist there used keune hair color and loma hair products just like this salon. Also both stylists took the same amount of time doing my hair and both did a deep conditioning treatment so I'm not sure why this place is so much more expensive? I looked forward to my appointment at Peppers but it was a huge disappointment. The stylist must have been thinking about a different client because the cut and color were not what I asked for. I asked for shoulder length bob and left with hair almost 4 inches below my shoulders. The color did not cover all my gray and the warm brown I asked for had way too much red in it. I consider this almost $200 down the drain. Since then I have spent another $130 having 4 inches cut off my hair and having some highlights put in to tone down the color and making it look more natural. Add those two up and it's kind of an expensive hair do, right? A big thumbs down to Peppers and if they had any decency they would return some of my money! read more

This salon is WONDERFUL! If you've ever had your nails done, you have to check out their Gelish manicures. They use a special polish and UV light to give you that super glossy profressial look AND you'll leave with dry, hard nails! Really! It takes the same amount of time as a regular manicure and you won't ever worry about smudging, nicking, denting, scraping your polish ever again! It costs $32, which is a steal, considering Gene Juarez wants to charge $40 for a similar service, plus the manicure last at least 2+ weeks! Went to Peppers for a cut by Amber. I really liked the salon, the products and Amber did a great job. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the price. I saw a pricing scale on their website and thought the price would be on their lower end of $44 dollars since I don't have a difficult cut. I was shocked to be charged $68, the most I've ever paid for a haircut in my life! Turns out the pricing scale has nothing to do with your hair, but instead is based on the experience of your stylist. I will not be returning to Peppers. $68 is too expensive for my budget. read more

I can't believe I haven't written a review yet for Pepper's! I have been getting my hair done by Katelyn for over a year now. She always knows exactly how I like to have my hair cut and never takes off too much when I ask for "a few inches off". She also takes care of all my colors; I've had foils, balayage, and all-over colors from her (right now it's dark with hints or reddish-purple). Katelyn's always so sweet and fun to talk to as well! I love, love, love Pepper's Salon! My entire experience here from the friendly front counter to the hair stylist that worked magic (Jen) was nothing short of spectacular. Everyone is incredibly warm and welcoming and I never feel like I am "below" going to this place as I have at other high-end salons. I also admire the fact that they are never trying to sell you on the products. They make their recommendations and if you want it you can purchase it but I never feel any pressure. I received the hair painting technique and was absolutely thrilled with the results. Jen took my hair from a dull and ashy black to a really nice ombre. She is truly an artist at her job. I would recommend this place 100 times over! On a side note they also do a wonderful job on facials as I've had two here and I leave the salon with glowing skin. read more

I have been looking for 2 years for a salon with good prices, professional staff and was at the same time with clean and well kept stations. Sophia had taken care of my mess of hair and the cut turned out exactly as I wanted it. Though the color was darker than I wanted, she was ready to tone and correct it right there. I declined the correction as I know with red tones my hair would fade a bit into what I preferred within a few washes. Also, red tones are most difficult to gauge how it will take on each person, especially a new client, and I would still trust Sophia to color my hair in the future. I will definitely recommend this salon in the future and be returning when I need my hair done. While, yes, the ask for a CC to reserve your first appointment I can understand that from a business standpoint. read more

I want to begin this review by saying the service by the aesthetician and nail tech were 5+ stars. These women were passionate, friendly, knowledgeable, kind, and just all around lovely and I really enjoyed their services. However, I am a little taken aback by one fairly large thing. My husband called this salon and spa after seeing the glowing reviews online, wanting to set up a special day for my cousin and me. So he called to set up an appointment for a "spa day". Being a typical man, he has no idea what most any type of spa treatments are besides getting nails and fingernails painted. The spa treatments at this establishment are all tiered (something I realized mid-way through our experience.) Manicures, pedicures, facials, etc. All different services and prices. My husband wouldnt have known, and after speaking with him after-the-fact, he didn't know. The person who scheduled our appointment signed us up for the most expensive teir of each service, including extras my husband 100% would not have asked for (like shellac nail polish, which is an additional $30.) I remember him telling the person on the phone he wanted to spend around $350-400... and I believe the woman taking the appointment took advantage of this. She signed us up for $500 worth of services which I believe to have been quite unnecessary. I stopped a couple of the extras once I realized what was going on, and my nail tech apologized profusely claiming the receptionist was new. All in all, I am quite disappointed with this. The services were lovely, do not get me wrong, and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute. The women who performed the services were just delightful, and I would likely rebook with them as I enjoyed them so much. But the fact that my husband's extremely kind gesture to me and my cousin was taken advantage of really puts a sour taste in my mouth. And if management is reading this review, I would highly suggest some retraining on appointment taking. I spent over a decade working in a salon and making appointments, and it was never standard to leave brand new customers in the dark when it came to tiered prices of services. read more

Initial appointment in May for Deva cut. I was set up with the stylist Kelsie. I was impressed with the dry cut for curly hair, it let me see where the curls were exactly instead of guessing at the length. I purchased two different products on my way out and I was told they were both 100% guaranteed. I went back for a follow up cut with Kelsey yesterday, the cut turned out perfect, just a trim, and I had no problem returning one of the products that I didn't care for. I have been contemplating since August on if I should write this review or not. I am not the person who usually does reviews especially bad ones. But, I feel like I needed to share my experience since I was a loyal customer for 2 years. My hair stylist messed my hair up twice. The second time was unforgettable. I got my hair highlighted with a toner. My hair was gray and white at top and the bottom was a golden/brassy yellow. It was horrible. (See pics below) Once I got home I realized how bad it truly was and called the salon. The receptionist explained that they couldn't get me in for a few weeks. I explained how bad my hair was and she recommended me to use Dawn dish soap to get the toner out. I washed my hair with Dawn twice and my hair began to break and fall out. I called the salon back and she expressed how sorry she was but still said they were unable to get me in. I understand how busy salons are... but the fact I paid $220 for them to completely destroy my hair and they couldn't "fit me in" to fix the damage they caused was extremely frustrating. As I said above, I have been a loyal customer for 2 years. I've gotten my hair highlighted numerous times, got eyelash extensions numerous times, and I have even recommended 3 people to them! I felt like I did my part as a customer. I just wish they would have fulfilled their end of the deal as my hair salon. My hair is still extremely damaged and is going to take a while for it to get to the length it was before. This salon is pricey and clearly not dependable when things go wrong. Curly haired girls beware. I went here for a Deva Cut. What a waste of $100. I was told that I was going to get a custom hair cut where each curl is individually shaped and styled to my natural curls and my likings. I sat down, and the girl who did my hair was friendly, but didn't really ask me anything about my hair or talk to me really at all. Maybe some people like that? I just kind of like to get to know the person who's about to take shears to my locks. I told her I liked the length of my hair, but I also like a lot of volume. She didn't really go over the Deva Cut process even though it was my first time, but said she'd only trim was what needed and give me layers. Well, she did leave the length I asked for, I'll give her that. It's very hard to leave length with curly hair as taking off one inch of hair is like taking off five. However, I have no layers in my hair despite me saying I wanted more volume in my hair and I understood that the weight of my curls was preventing that. I felt like she rushed through the entire service and with a Deva cut they're supposed to cut you dry, shampoo, condition, add in styling products, do a wet cut, put you under a dryer and while doing this give you a personal curl care lesson ( I did my homework). Well, I was given a rushed version of this minus the curl lesson (unless you call trying to be sold hair product a lesson) and wet cut. She also didn't dry my hair all the way letting me leave the salon wet. Now for $100 I expected a little more than what I could get for half the cost and at least with the cheaper hair cuts I get to leave with dry hair. I won't be returning and ladies if you want a great hair cut, look elsewhere because this place isn't it. read more

This Salon is way overpriced. I have thick/wavy hair and they want to charge me an additional ten dollars because it takes longer to style. As a stylist that is your job. So if you can't handle doing your job and want to charge an additional fee then GOODBYE. The salon is cute and the staff is nice but it's not worth the price tag. Each stylist is priced differently. So if you want someone that's been there for 4+ years it's $60.00 for that stylist. 2+ years is $50.00 and apprentice is $40.00. $100.00 dollars for a haircut is ridiculous and that's basically what it costs to get service here. I've had "better quality" for a "better price" at other salons. read more
