Well, I really don't like writing these types of reviews but after giving it ample time, which I'm thankful I did and talking to others about my experience, here it goes. I was new to the lash game as of June 2019. I did my research and picked a lash salon close to my home and had what I would call a 3 of 5 experience their, so I was on the lookout for another establishment. Talking with a co-worker about our lashes, what we loved and didn't, she had so much love for them, while I was still questioning my current place and feelings about lashes. My issue was retention, availability and cost and well her's were nothing to be honest! So I decided to jump ship and try her salon out and was pretty excited about it! They had more lash ladies to provide the hybrid lashes I wanted, it was close to my job, the cost was less and she had great retention. I called an made an appointment and got Kate, who was great and I was in LOVE with my new lashes! She was super friendly, pretty fast and had a great eye for what she was doing. I was happy to make another appointment as I felt confident this would be my new place. Oh and the cost was an added plus, at the time. Here is why I am giving Salon ish 1 star. After my first appointment, my next was with a gal name Lacey, she was new and well that fill was not the best, I found that she didn't stay around much longer after my appt. but then I got Kim and what I felt was an AMAZING fill ended being my second to last appointment with this place. I noticed that my eyes were staying bloodshot red for a lot longer than a few hours or the day, it was more like 3-4 days but I LOVED my lashes and continued on.....advising my lash stylists they "played" with the eye covers thinking I may be sensitive to the pads versus tape etc, etc. I finally got an appointment with Kate again after Kim and told her about my eyes and the redness and she said she had similar after effects. I told her I thought it might be the glue and maybe too much of it? She did mention that there was a little extra glue, which isn't the norm she sees from the previous person and I agreed as I noticed alot of clumping and white residue in my lashes... She finished my fill and off I went and the redness didn't go away for almost a week! I used compresses, took benadryl, lots of eye drops and nothing. I noticed when I washed my lashes, my lash line started getting icky now as well. I called the salon and asked to speak to Katelyn the owner and the receptionist advised she was unavailable but could help, I told her my problem, she said she would call right back and did. She advised that since it was eyes, that I should go to the Doctor!?! I got in that day as I was worried and the Doctor confirmed that I was having an allergic reaction and recommended me to stop lashing:( I called the salon back and was finally able to speak with Katelyn and to my surprise she really didn't take any type of ownership of the issue! She said she didn't want to remove them since the brand of glue she uses is the same brand for removal and that I could be allergic to that too?! I had to ask what to do to try and remove them myself and she suggested coconut oil, which didn't work. I was going to let this go and not review them but seeing how this establishment portrays themselves on social media, I feel like they didn't value me as a customer and didn't try to remedy the issue at all! Plus, I didn't want this to happen to someone else. There was no attempt to try to keep me as a customer and to try and assist with the removal of my lashes, so I ended up bald for months as the clumps of fake lashes fell out on their own. I don't feel I was necessarily allergic to the glue BUT that the application of glue was excessive and over done which caused the sensitivity/redness reaction. Not a lash by lash application, all the way through. Recap- I had lashes for 5-6 months with another salon and had no problems, except wishing they would stay a little longer and not cost as much. Came here and had better retention (because they used too much glue) and saved money at the time but ended up with no lashes afterwards. Choose wisely- my choice au natural baby. read more

I went an saw Rachelle idler an she really gave me my dream Hair!! I am so so obsessed with it. I love how comfortable the hand-tied extensions are an how awesome they blend! Kody is a miracle worker!!!! She did a blonde color correction from a different salon back in December of 2021 for me and I REFUSE to go to anyone else!! Salon ish is THE vibe with incredible products! I always feel so welcomed when I walk through the door & love the happy vibes that I always get when I walk into the salon! Kody isn't the only incredible stylist at this salon ALL of their stylists SLAY their hair game! I absolutely love this place, my aunts started going here and recommended it. All the girls make you feel so loved and every time I come I have fun. I see Kennedy or Brooke for my lashes and they both are fantastic!!! They put up with my picky-ness and they both are so kind. Went and saw Kimberly for a Balayage. She has great spunk and customer service. She did a great job on my hair. I showed her a picture of another clients hair she had done and she did a great job getting mine to look that way. The salon is super cute. Modern rustic look. They use great products there too. I love this Salon. I have gotten my eyelashes done here consistently for almost two years, I don't think I will ever stop! I have been too multiple different lash artists, and all of them are absolutely so talented, professional and sweet! I've never been somewhere that I can go to any artist and get the same quality and comfortability that these ladies give me! When I first started coming, sometimes it was hard to get an appointment because there was about half of the lash artists, but I swear they have at least doubled their artists. I never have a problem getting an appointment, I have had a problem with my eyelashes I think once or twice and they resolved every issue. These ladies go above and beyond any other lash studio in all of Puyallup! Boss babes for sure! read more

Three services to review for Salon Ish. I had my brows microbladed by Bree, waxed by Bree, and also have hybrid eyelash extensions by Kate. All three have been great. Wax is simple and quick and makes a difference, especially after getting them all perfect from microblading. The microblading was a three step process - first you set up a consult. Bree did a mock up on my face of how my brow shape might change and explained the process. Next was the main appointment. She numbed my brow area, measured out my brows again and made sure I liked the shape. Then it was the blading process. It hurt but it's bearable. I have never had a tattoo before and have pretty low pain tolerance. I decided when it was happening that if I didn't like the results the pain wouldn't be worth it to do again. But...It's worth it. I don't have to ever do anything to my brows. If I want to do a full makeup face I might fill them in to be a little bolder but that's it. I'm sure you could get them bladed more bold but that's not what I wanted. The healing process is no joke - follow the aftercare info given. Mine weren't too bad healing but they did flake (normal). The touch up appointment made a huge difference. The touch up appointment is included in the price. Advice: plan your microblading around (not near) events. Your brows can't have makeup on/near for a while and you want to be careful around water and sun exposure. Finally, Kate has done my lashes a few times now. I like the hybrid option this salon offers. It's a little more than Classic but not so bold for someone like me that generally doesn't wear make up day to day. With the microbladed eye brows and lash extensions I literally roll out of bed and do nothing extra to my face. It's fantastic for me! I also like that Salon Ish has a good Instagram (where you can find the girls' own pages too) because that's how I learned about each service in depth and decided on everything. read more

If it won't, she is honest but will tell me what will work and is very close to what I was wanting and always comes out amazing! I typically can go between 3-4 weeks between lash fill appointments when Heather does my lashes and I never leave disappointed! I receive amazing service here! read more

Okay y'all. Listen here. I've been to Salon Ish twice, for two separate services now, and I cannot say enough. If you're looking for a high end salon with that really laid back and fun, just amazing vibe- this is your stop. I got a wash and style the first go round, and a full Brazilian wax the second. The products they use are top of the line. You feel like an actual queen the whole time, while having fantastic conversation and they leave you with alllll the tea on how to keep up that self care, beyond the salon! I get a brazilian here, and its AMAZING!!!! I have gotten a brazilian or two at different places (8th day spa, etc) and this place is AMAZING. Seriously. She is talkative and fun and light-hearted, doesnt make you feel awkward. They use regular wax for larger area's and sensitive skin wax for the tender parts. There is a GREAT discount for returnee's. After I read the reviews on here I called and tried to make an appointment with Susie, however she was booked pretty far out (which means that she's amazing!). I would have waited but I needed to cut my hair asap because it was literally breaking off from the damage done by dying it at home. My appointment was scheduled with Jessica Kingsbury. I was very nervous because this was my first hair cut since we had moved out here and I knew that it was going to have to be pretty short, since my hair was very damaged. She was very kind and chatty the whole time that she was cutting my hair. She suggested some new products and overall she did a great job! I was so nervous and she really did an amazing job. It lays perfectly now that it is cut and it really changed my mind about short hair cuts. I still feel naked without my hair, but she made the process much easier haha! I recently saw Shelby for a full balayage and absolutely love what she's done. I came in with overgrown roots and the remnants of color I didn't love - Shelby worked her magic and now I just have to hope she never leaves! I want to start by saying I found this Salon on YELP and decided to make an appointment because of all the great reviews. I recently moved to South Hill and needed a new salon for my lashes and hair. I had made an appt for a lavish fill for my lashes, as a new client, over social media. I noticed I never got a reminder call or email, which I thought was kind of strange, but I still showed up to my appointment time, a few minutes early because I was new and wasn't sure if there was any paperwork prior. Unfortunately they didn't have me on the books. The social media gal (I believe her name was Crystal) then came out and apologized and said they would make something work with their and my schedule, and they did. She was very genuine about the whole thing which was really nice and appreciated. Luckily, the gal they had scheduled during my appointment time didn't show up so they were able to see me (lucky me)! I got to see the same gal I was originally scheduled with, Maggie, who was awesome, she also did any amazing job on my lashes! They even comp'd my visit due to the mistake (this was quite a surprise, I wasn't expecting that)! Anyways, I'm scheduled for my next fill in a few days and I just got the confirmation via txt and email (super convenient) and I know they have me down! Can't wait to see these great gals again. I can't say enough about how amazing Salon Ish is. This is my second review here as an update on services at the salon. I see Kendall twice a month for Brazilian Sugaring and the experience is as pain-free as can be. Definitely recommend her for sugaring or waxing services! I have also seen Kendall for eyelash extensions last fall and they looked great. I'm going back for another full set soon. Kim is my hairstylist and I couldn't ask for a better person to trust with my hair! I have gone from almost waist-length hair last year to a pixie cut with shaved side this year, and I have loved every part of the transition thanks to Kim. She's amazing with short hair styles, and really works with your face shape and features and styles the cut to complement and flatter in every way. I've been coming to salon Ish for the last year now! I drive over an hour every two weeks for my lashes! Heather Lykins is worth the drive! Not only is she an amazing lash artist.. she is so knowledgeable on all things skin care and beauty! She always makes my lashes nice and fluffy! Definitely worth the drive! I always leave so happy! I've recently decided to stick with Ish for my hair I'm excited to see Caitlin this month! I love the vibes they have in the hair salon and in their spa area! Before, I had gone to Regis salon at the south hill mall which did well in the past. But the last lady I had at Regis didn't do a good job. So I decided to try a different salon. I noticed Salon Ish had great reviews so I went there. I had Cortney at Ish when I went to fix my purple ombre. She did an amazing job! My hair turned out more vibrant than I expected and everyone noticed when I went back to work. I would definitely go back to this salon and recommend it to anyone. :) read more

Rachelle and I emailed back and forth with pictures of my hair goals, current hair, and previous hair as I was interested in hair coloring and extensions. To quote she said "I am confident I can get you to the blonde you want". I drove 45 minutes for what she said would be a quick 15 minute consultation. I waited 30 minutes past my scheduled appointment, no mention of it when she sat me down. She pulled hair extensions swatches and we started searching for the right coloring. The next 10 minutes were filled with awkward silences, her referring to me as the wrong customer and not remembering our email conversation. In the end, with customers all around watching and listening to us, she states that in order to get to the blonde I want I'd need to lighten my hair first (yes, we talked about this), that it would be a "color correction" (... I'm currently blonde, just had it done 7 weeks ago too) and that she "doesn't have time in her schedule to accomplish what I want". I think almost all women reading that understand the level of embarrassment she made me feel publicly in that moment, with everyone watching. I fully support a stylists right to turn down clients that don't match with their services, absolutely always. But there are so many ways to be professional, kind and tactful in those conversations. And at least be honest - saying you don't have any time ever is just plain dishonest. I was mortified at her unprofessional handling and walked out of there almost in tears. She should have done better. Her work is beautiful, but that does not make up for how you treat people. read more

I've been seeing Kim for volume lash fills for about six months now. She is AMAZING! I have super straight and thin lashes. She is a magician and I always walk away with full lashes. Most salons that I've been to have yet to master this technique. She has changed my make up routine FOREVER! read more
