It was 6 PM and most salons close at seven and I was looking for someone who was available to do an emergency haircut because I had a hair disaster that I needed fixed before the next day when I was going to be boarding a plane to go out of town for a week. After calling two salons with no luck, I called a third Salon and Sohaira answered and said that she could help me and I was there with in minutes and she went above and beyond what I was looking for and really hooked me up. She worked on my hair for several hours late into the night when most people would have done the bare minimum to get me out the door so that they could go home. I ended up walking out of there with fabulous blue/green mermaid or peacock style hair Color that was absolutely amazing. She really saved my hair for me. And I have been going back to her literally every single week so that she could continue to treat the damage on my hair and bring it back to life. Since that day a few months ago we started out doing blue/green color to blue/purple thenwe went to a multi color pink look and then today we just finished up with an end result of purple/pink. In going to see her every week for the past six months, I have seen so much of her work on other clients and I tell you if it is color that you want you definitely need to go see her because she create some amazing colorful looks. And I highly recommend getting an Olaplex treatment even if you are not going to have a color service done. It really brings her back to life from the daily wear and tear of brushing and he processing and the humidity etc. it really is worth the money to get it, she does a treatment on me every single week which has helped the damage and made it to where she didn't have to cut all of my hair off from my hair emergency. My hair was down to my waist and she was able to salvage Quite a bit of light where as other places would have just chopped it off at the chin and called it done. I will update with pictures. It was a bit hard to find from the street and we spent a good 5 minutes walking up and down the sidewalk, iPhone in hand, trying to use Google Maps to figure out what building it was. Apparently they lost their street sign in the last hurricane, but once we got up to the door there was some lettering there that clued us in that we were at the right location. This seems to be a full-service salon that focuses mostly on ethnic hair. It had a full make-up display along with a make-up artist working on clients, lots of product for sale, nail techs in the back, a handful of salon chairs full of customers and a barber in the back room. Everyone was very friendly, everything was very clean, and most importantly my friend loved the work they did on her. Street parking is difficult along the stretch of Elysian Fields it is on and, although there is room to park right in front of the salon, that space fills quickly and you may get blocked in.

Secondly, the location. They're on a quieter block of Maple, so there's always parking, and it's close to home. If I want to walk, they're right there, and if it the weather isn't great, it's easy to street park. Finally, the reasonable pricing. Lots of local salons really like to upcharge left and right for their services. I'd rather spend that money on more tip for my awesome stylist. Such a great place!
