She's absolutely incredible at what she does and I'm so grateful to have found her & will drive whatever distance I have to to keep her as my hairstylist! A few years ago, my head was full platinum blonde - which takes a toll on the integrity of your hair after a while. I spent months growing it out and Hunter was able to seamlessly blend the growth of my roots (much darker blonde) into the bleach blonde at my ends. She listens to me and I trust her judgement. I went to Hunter this past summer and came to her looking to go a bit darker with my hair from a pretty stark blonde grow out. I wasn't looking to spend too much money on going a little darker so she recommended a gloss which would eventually fade and I thought that'd be the best route! My hair at that time had my root grow out, and then about an inch of a warm band, then the blonde after. Hunter communicated this very effectively and made sure I understood what was going to be the process of blending out everything and how fast the gloss would fade. I ended up loving the end result, so happy I was able to start the process to a darker look! I am definitely looking forward to coming back and having Hunter do my hair again! read more

Hunter executes my vision every time and more. I participated in a wonderful giveaway that a few people hosted, Bianca (Sara) being one of them. I won a free haircut (~$50 value) and asked her if I can upgrade it to balayage (came out to $115, gave her a $20 tip, so total $135. She gave me a $50 discount bc of the giveaway). She was very friendly and nice, however completely distracted. I believe she was having an off day so I just shrugged it off. That was a mistake giving her benefit of the doubt. I asked for dark ashy grey color, it came out cool/icy/slate. I'm not too sure if it's because I have dark Asian hair why it came out like that but it didn't look bad so I was fine with it. She also kept the integrity of my hair. The pictures doesn't do the color justice BUT it's obvious that Bianca missed some spots. I realized it once I got home, so I messaged her and she wanted to charge me $20!!!! I once again gave her benefit of the doubt and considered paying her to reapply product to the strands that SHE missed. However once I washed my hair and the curls fell, I noticed my haircut. Bianca had trimmed my hair during our session and I've told her MANY times that my hair is really flat and straight. It's obvious looking at my hair, I had no products in the day she saw me. She cut my hair very blunt and it just looks like my hair has two blunt layers. I messaged Bianca again and not once did she apologize for her very visible mistake. She did cordially reoffer to apply the color for me but this time for free, and to retrim my hair for free as well. I am done giving her benefit of the doubt even though she really was having a bad day and I felt bad for her. I do not want her anywhere near my hair with scissors. In terms of color, my hair started to turn green after one wash. I also used olaplex. I figured I need more sessions since my hair is so dark, but I would need to deeply consider it after my experience. 2.5/5 read more

I would give no stars if I could-I have been a client of this salon since 2015-my stylist was Ande Jo and she was a superb stylist in every way. Unfortunately I moved to Seattle for business & when I returned to OC in 2024 she was no longer there & I was not given a forwarding number to contact her. I was very disappointed but agreed to meet with Christina. She assured me that she was great with color & cutting & had years of experience & had planned to open up her own (competing) salon in Brea but the space was "not the right fit" so she was working at Salon Midori in the interim until she could find a better space (?). I found her to be very opinionated & I felt very rushed through the service-the shampoo & conditioner application was sloppy & the (cold) water made my shirt wet-there was no massage or mask put on my hair-the cut that she gave me was like an afterthought & the layers looked jagged-it was apparent that precision was not a factor. The color-I asked for highlights & she (without asking me) applied a lighter color-when I asked her about it after my hair dried she said that she did not have time to do a highlight service and that I could come back? It was only 3:30 PM at that time, but she said that she lived 2 hours away & had to avoid traffic. She also had hair from other clients all over the floor & her brushes and styling tools looked dirty and worn. My hair did not even smell as if it was washed-and the color that she used faded within 2 weeks. Because of Christina I will never again use Salon Midori-and I get my hair done every 5 weeks. Thank God I found Charity at Salon Amerige-she did the most amazing job with highlighting my hair & fixed the uneven jagged edges that Christina had ruined. read more

I went in for a simple haircut. Getting a haircut is actually luxury for me. I was greatly disappointed. I've never gone to a salon and had them wash my hair in literally thirty seconds. And never had my hair smell unwashed while they blow dried it. They used absolutely no heat protector or products and actually did not give a blow out just a blow dry.
