Decided to change my hair stylist after being disappointed for the last time. I checked out the number one hair salon on yelp and found salon Milage!! I was not disappointed! I called there and two days after Alex gave me both a consultation and took the time to give me not only exactly what I want but what looks best on me!! Alex is very professional, she is honest (does not sugar coat) and is passionate about her job and take it very seriously. I am a person who is sensitive about my hair and difficult to be satisfied with the service and with Alex everything was very easy. She was polite with me, she was understanding and I would recommend the place for anyone if you are looking for a clean, chill and welcoming environment. I've gone to the same hairdresser in Florida since I was 15 so the scariest part of moving to Boston was honestly looking for a new salon.. I read reviews from salons all over Boston & took a chance on Alex. Her reviews were consistent & the pictures always looked natural. She listens, she cares, and the results show it. I walk out feeling like a million bucks every time. I took this picture walking home after a cut in July. I even updated my profile picture on fb! She's beautiful inside and out and only hires the best. Twice she was busy and I was scared to try someone else at her salon but she directed them perfectly as to what I wanted. Alex is simply amazing! I cannot recommend her more highly! I moved to Cambridge for university and struggled to find a hairdresser that I trusted in the area. Sadly, one salon I visited completely ruined my hair. Instead of adding highlights, they bleached my hair, leaving an awful colour discrepancy (I have a balayage) - a very traumatic experience. Alex saved me & my hair (see photos) by blending the colour through and giving the right depth to the hair. She guided me through the process and knew what would work for me. And best of all, she is very reasonably priced. I'm only sad that I didn't find her earlier. She's terrific! I came to this salon as a recommendation from my friend and I have not regretted the decision yet! First, I have very thick and curly hair, that oftentimes might be a hairdressers nightmare. So much so that I've often permed it to make it easier for me. Alexandra (the owner) is so knowledgable about how to treat it both at the salon and type at home (for busy people like me). One of the things that makes me appreciate her even more is her ability to tell you exactly what you and your hair needs. Hello everyone! This is 100% honest and real comment about this saloon! I have been so many places around Boston (even the some of them were really famous). I can tell you that I've never been this satisfied. I'm from turkey and I have really jet black hair. But I'm using my hair white blonde. It's so hard to bleach and dye my hair for foreign hair dressers cuz our hair type is so different than others. Alex did an amazing job for my hair. She never give up until I was totally satisfied. She was so kind and not fake at all!! I have 0 damaged on my hair at the moment. She asked me 3-4 times and make sure if this is what I want. I'm pretty sure if I said no she would work on it. I went to Salon Milage for a Brazilian Blowout to take advantage of the special..a BB for $189? That's an amazing price! Maria (Zunilda) took my dry curly hair and transformed it into a masterpiece! After the blowout I was receiving so many compliments on my hair because it's never looked that amazing! I went about a week after the BB for a wash and set and cut and Zunilda did an amazing job once again! My hair looked better my second visit to Salon Milage.. thank you so much! This weekend I had my hair done by Alex. I am very happy I chose this salon, as the fellow staff and herself were very nice. I had been looking at bayalage on instagram for a while, and decided to take the plunge and had a consultation at Salon Milage. I told Alex I was nervous, because I had never colored my hair before, but she reassured me and told me that I could pull off the honey bayalage with my light brown hair and that it would look great and she would do it subtle for my first time. I have never referred to someone as "my hairstylist" but after Amanda squeezed me into a spot last Saturday, I sure do now and will be booking with her in the future. My hair was incredibly long, and I came in with some pretty vague imaginings of how it might need to be cut to cut down on some of the breakage, split ends, and snarling it was busy doing. Almost 2 years later - Alex still gives me the best cuts ever. Pleasant chat while she works. I've seen customers with all types of hair in her shop. She takes whichever courses she can to keep up with the latest techniques and styles, Alex is considerate of my time: if I call ahead, she will say ""come now" or "come in an hour". Someone else commented about walk-ins. She'll take them if she has time, but doesn't want folks to have to wait 45 minutes while she finishes people already in the works. Alex is very experienced and does a great job with my ornery curly hair. She has a personal connection with her clients and is a good listener to what I want. One really nice thing is that Alex doesn't charge me the full price for the cut when I just get a trim. Not too many places in the area that you can get such a great haircut for $15-25!
