I love everything about Salon Neo. It is a small, comfortable family run business, where you can't help feeling like a part of the family. Peter is a fantastic stylist with both female and male clients. I found him about ten years ago, but stopped going to Salon Neo because we moved out of Quincy. After many tries at other salons where I was never completely happy with my haircut, I returned to Salon Neo, Peter, Nina and the rest of the gang. Nina is wonderful. I have been going here for years for pedicure, eyebrow wax and occasional manicure. I love it here. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. Nina always does my waxing and she does a fantastic job. I've had Nina and Ann for pedicures and they are both great. My 17 year old daughter recently got a haircut from Peter and she was so happy!! This salon has it all! The hairstylists are super-talented, friendly, and reasonably priced. I went in for the first time last weeked to get a trim and ombre color. My natural color is dark dark brown and i wanted it to go into a blonde on the tips. Peter was my stylist. He was handsome, friendly, funny and most important did an amazing job with my hair. He took great detail and care to give me a modern and fun bob. Even though my hair has been color treated and is very hard to dye, Peter stayed and missed his dinner plans with his friend Bob to make sure the color was perfect. In addition to a phenomenal haircut and color, the staff is so nice. His mom Nancy and sister Nina work there too. They gave everyone cookies and strawberries while they were there! Neo has a generally friendly and close knit vibe. I enjoyed getting to know Peter and his friend Bob. We talked the whole time and they had me laughing pretty hard. Oh and icing on the cake is they do nails, facials, and eyelashes. So its a one stop shop. If you want a Newbury St. haircut without the attitude or high prices...go to Neo!!! read more

WARNING!!!! DO NOT GO THERE! I asked 3 times how much a hair cut was going to cost me, and they never gave me a straight answer. Then, they charged me double, after a fat tip to the hair cutter. I couldn't believe I had to pay $25 for a kid's haircut!!!! Also, they said they did locks for love? Liars. The locks for love has to be braided, and I asked them twice, which they didn't do. Terrible business plan, charging me twice than what they state in their brochure. When confronted, the woman would not let me have a brochure! Wouldn't give me a straight answer prior to the hair cut how much it was going to be. If you get SCREWED of your MONEY, Don't say I didn't warn you! They also PUSH PRODUCTS on you, that you can pay for a LOT less at the department store. WILL NEVER GO AGAIN!!!! read more

a little bit of my facial background, i was an elizabeth grady client for a full year, was pretty satisifed with their products and services, however my last service with them i wasn't happy with their explanation of why my face was breaking out such as, "what kind of shampoo do you use cause it could be the shampoo" and i told them that i used redken and they replied saying "oh, well yea that shouldn't be the problem" and then just went quiet and proceeded on with my facial..i continue to use their products but shy'ed myself away from their facials.. i also triedoral antibiotics (which made me extra sensitive to the sun so i was always so tanned during the middle of winter.i stopped), applied topical antibiotics and prescribed ointments recommended by my dermatologists, and it sorta helps but not effective. bottom line acne has been an issue all throughout my life! i moved to ny and couldnt find a decent facial place where i lived and i was lazy and a little bit cautious cause i want to get the most out of my experience so i went to this one place and she barely touched my face and charged me 70 bucks for it. so i dropped that. i normally make my monthly/bi monthly visits to quincy cause my whole family is there, and my brother who has had a long history of cystic acne and was a previous user of accutane back in high school (he is now in his late 20's) and i noticed that his face is significantly clearer and he even told me that he has been consistently going to this woman named nina for facials and he told me that he wished he went to her or listened to her in earlier in his life to get facial treatments cause he could have totally gotten rid of his chronic acne problem years ago. so when he told me his experience, and during that time i was still have my acne issues as well (not cystic but moderate-mild acne-i have combination oily to dry to sensitive skin combo, depending on the season), i decided to give her a try. gave her a ring and scheduled my appointment. when i first went there (approx. on year ago) my impression of her was that she was very friendly, approachable and can literally talk about anything and everything. if you dont talk she will talk for you, that is how friendly she is. she was and still is very thorough with my face and she will always give me advice on how to take care of my face what to avoid, etc, etc. so she wrapped my hair with a towel, put on the humidifier, cleansed, exfoliated, extracted (popped all the clogged pores), put on chemical peel (glycolic mask), cleansed that off, i think she put on another mask just to calm my skin cause my skin is a bit sensitive to the chemical peel, washed that off, and to her judgement sometimes uses this electronic wand that zaps the bacteria off my face, thens he puts on the moisturizer and call it the day. i have been consistently going there (1x/month sometimes 1x/2months depending how my face is behaving), and i have been getting constant comments from my friends and family on how great my face looks and asks what i have been using, and i literally just tell them, i have been getting facials from nina at salon neo. i still live in new york and again, when i make my visits to quincy to see my family i also see nina to get my face tune up. for some reason i can't get myself to find another facialist in ny cause of the whole trust factor, and nina definitely filled that criteria to the T. i really need a facialist who will give me the down and dirty on things and is not out there to get my money. i really suggest everyone to go to her if your face is problematic like mine. sorry for the long review but it's the only way to show to everyone that she is by far a very awesome and credible facialist out there! read more

I had to make an emergency appointment for a hair cut and full highlight on a Sunday, and ended up at Salon Neo since they were the only place I found open on Sundays. I am so lucky to have found them! The overall environment is very clean and friendly, and Peter is an incredibly talented and devoted hair stylist. The highlights came our great and they didn't even need to bleach my hair and the cut was the best I've ever received. I searched on yelp for a new local salon and found this place with pretty good reviews. I called and got an appointment for the next day. I saw Nina (I hope that's her name!). She consulted with me first and helped me figure out what I wanted. She mixed the color and came back quickly. I could tell she knew what she was doing by the way she was parting and sectioning my hair. After the color she added a glaze to warm up the color and add shine. Then she cut it. She did a really nice job of thinning out my very full hair without butchering it or using a razor. She also gave me a great brow wax. The staff are all nice and friendly and create a very comfortable atmosphere in the salon. I would definitely recommend it and can't wait to go back! read more

I decided to drop by for a quick eyebrow wax, and was happy that they could fit me in. However, that was the end of my good experience. After I was done and got home, I noticed that my eyebrows were no longer symmetrical. Even worse, they were surrounded by dry, itchy bumps. I have gotten plenty of waxes and have never had an allergic reaction, so I don't know if they are using cheap wax or aren't being as hygienic as possible or what. 6 days later, they still itch. I absolutely LOVE Salon Neo! Everybody who works there works to give you exactly what you want. Nina is an amazing facialist, nail technician, and waxer. I've only had my haircut by Julie, but all the haircuts I've seen done by Peter, Nancy, and Nina's mom (not sure on her name) are great. If you have been to Salon Neo before--even once before--they remember you. It's so friendly and welcoming--I wouldn't go anywhere else unless I had to! It is an Asian salon, but everybody speaks great English, and they only speak Vietnamese (I think?) regarding prices and scheduling, which I do not mind at all. I had my hair colored from blonde to brunette (good job) but asked to have a 1/2 inch trim. My hair was cut way too short and the static electricity is crazy! Sunny was very friendly, but I don't think he understood the trim I was looking for. I'll go back but will be VERY explicit about what I'm looking for. read more

i got a GREAT facial here...i was glowing for days. i only do facials for the extractions and i after i told nina that, she got every last bit of dirt in my poor clogged up pores. she also did a great job on my eyebrows. i would come to quincy just to go here! read more
