I got a shellac (gel) mani/pedi. It was about an hour for each. The woman that did them for me had to have gone to the Harvard of nail schools because she's Ivy League in the nail department (you see what I did there). Anyway she should be a surgeon. Her hands are as steady as they come and flawless nails are the result. Most of her time was spent on painting and cleaning up the nails. I fully expect these nails to last for the next 50 years with the care she took. They'll look fantastic in my coffin. The only downside was the massage. It was very brief, but good. I would've loved it to last more then a few minutes, but honestly to have nails that look this good, I was totally ok with that. Nails are a solid 5+. Massage is where the 4 rating came from. So all in all this place for nails gets a 4.5+ from me. read more

I pretty much never get pedicures or manicures, but my feet were in rough shape. Booked the cielo pedicure and my technician did an amazing job! They brought out the much needed buffer to restore my feet, and it was so nice to have them all smooth and polished again. It's been 2 weeks and the pedi is holding up well. The service was polite, timely, professional, and a good price. I asked a couple friends and they said it was difficult finding a reliable mani-pedi place in Miami. I'm very happy I found this place via yelp, will definitely make this my go-to for pedis, and will be trying it out for manicures when I have a special event. read more

Despite that, he was able to book me for an appointment and style an amazing balayage. The cut was also perfect and framed my face! My hair was getting way way way too long and the ends were dead. Easily made an appointment online. There were one or two professionals doing hair appointments, but my appointment was for a manicure. Salon overall was clean, organized, busy, and nice. I did hear someone say for a consultation you should also book an appointment rather than walk in. Great color selection and top natural brands. My nail tech did a fantastic job. I just had a regular manicure, but she was meticulous and they look and feel amazing. I didn't say anything, but I do all my own mani pedis so am very picky. Great manicurist here but the lack of front desk service is painfully obvious . You can actually stand at the desk for 10-15 mins before anyone comes to the front. They even have a door chime that goes completely ignored. Really annoying, plus on top of your bill you get charged a credit card fee !! Not sure why they just hire a receptionist ? read more

These people will charge you an additional "surcharge" which they tell you "they have to charge you as part of the city"....which is completely illegal and a false additional charge that they put in their pockets. They also have two prices, one for "tourists" and one for "locals", which is str8 up hella shady and unfair. The services are overpriced and mediocre, nothing special. Hands down the most expensive AND most painful pedicure I've ever had.  Walked in for a regular pedicure ($46). Host was very friendly and really tried to go out of her way to make you comfortable (offered drink, asked about AC, etc.)  Pedicure - considering that this was gonna be the most expensive pedicure I've ever had, i expected to be blown away by the service but it was complete HORROR!   Nail tech filed my nails so short that it ended up cutting the skin in my toes. By the time she was getting ready to put the color, she put acetone in my toes and no joke -- 8 out of my 10 toes were BURNING from the cuts i got from the pedicure. The pain on my toes lasted at least three days after the pedicure. I'd also like to mention the fact that one of my toes was bleeding from the cut that i recieved.  Edit: Pedicure was $44. Still was the worst I've ever had. Definetely an experience i will never forget - unfortunately for the wrong reason. read more

This review is for the nail salon. First and foremost I loved the space and the fact that they use chemical free products where they can. However, for a shellac manicure and regular pedicure I was there for two hours. I did not have to have gel removed, either. Not sure it's ever taken that long before and it was more stressful than relaxing. Additionally, I had my own flip flops with me and had a solid 6-7 hours in them to dry before I had to put on shoes. Woke up the next morning to see half the polish on three nails on my right foot had vanished. Additionally all the shellac on my fingers have small chips and the manicure is only 4 days old. 3 stars for service and cleanliness, but quality could be improved. read more

Salon Ocean is both a hair salon and a nail salon. This review is for the nail salon, as that's the only service I've used there. I'm a South Beach local and live one block away from Salon Ocean. I love it and go about once every two months for mani/pedis. I've gotten regular mani/pedis as well as gel manicures. I find that all of the manicures at Salon Ocean last longer than at other places I've been to over the years - a manicure with normal polish tends to last about a week and gels tend to last between 2 and 3 weeks. This is incredibly good for me since I'm very hard on my nails (I know, I know, I'm supposed to wear gloves when I do things like wash the dishes after getting a manicure, but who remembers until it's too late?!). I tend to get ingrown toenails and Salon Ocean is meticulous about taking the time to fix this and cut my toes to most avoid this problem - since I've been going, my toes have been in the best shape they've been in in years. They also have a great selection of colors for their polish and are very patient if I decide I want to mix things up - I often get a few coats of one color polish and then some of another to create a more unique design. Everyone at Salon Ocean is very nice. I particularly love Erica, who works at the front. She's so kind and thoughtful and always remembers not only my name but also things we've talked about in the past. The environment at Salon Ocean is perfect for relaxing. They use only non-toxic chemicals and polishes so it smells lovely there. They always offer you tea or water when you walk in. Their mint tea is the perfect complement to a calm and relaxing manicure/pedicure. It's a small place so it's never too crowded - there's only enough room for about three manicures and three pedicures to happen at the same time. This means though that it's important to book an appointment in advance. I think some people get frustrated with Salon Ocean because they only use non-toxic chemicals and polishes so they can't always take off different types of polishes like acrylics. Don't let those reviews deter you - it's very clear from Salon Ocean's website that their mission is to use non-toxic chemicals and you can call and ask them if you have any questions. Their prices are on the higher end but I think it's worth it for the quality that you get and the overall atmosphere of the place. They're competitive with similar quality services on Miami Beach. Their prices are posted online too, which I like, so you know what things will cost before you go and commit. read more

Wonderful experience. Mani&Pedi with gel. Wonderful woman did both my hands and feet. She did an amazing job. It's been almost a month and my feet are still silky smooth, my gel polish is intact. My hands looked so great! Even after the month all I need is to cut the length and change the gel polish. The salon is clean, smells good, AC is on. The only suggestion I would like to offer is to add more gel polish colours. They have wonderful selection for regular polish, but not much for the gel. I came early morning and was the only client doing my nails. Chill music and quite. The master didn't bother me with a small talk, she was very pleasant. She realised I was still sleepy and she just let me enjoy mani and pedi in peace. Appreciate it a lot! Will be back 100%. read more

I had a pedicure while on vacation from a nail tech named Idaluis. It was, quite literally, the best pedicure I have ever had in terms of attention to detail, particularly the precision with which she cleaned my cuticles and painted the nail beds. I worked in salons for many years, and held my cosmetology degree before heading back to school, so I know my way around a salon and have many points of comparison. I was just blown away by the patience and eye for detail Idaluis had. I am rough on my feet (I'm an avid gardner and a geologist by trade now), and I just got my first chip a full month after my pedicure (and only after stubbing my toe in the field). I have never had a pedicure last as long and if I lived in the area I would become a regular as fast as I could. read more

Pablo was honest about how much he'd have to take off to cut out the dead bits (my request) but made 100% certain I was comfortable with where I would end up before making the first snip with his scissors. What a great find - I love this salon. I discovered it a couple of months ago when I was looking for a true organic beauty salon. Now this is my go to nail salon. The service is terrific; friendly and great nail techs. And their products are top of the line and organic nail color selection is fantastic. I have done a lot of research on what are the best organic nail products and they have them. With this salon, I actually look forward to having manicure and pedicures because aside from quality service and products, it is clean, peaceful, quiet, serene, comfortable... all of that and more! And they actually have a rule - no cell phone talking while you are in the salon. Now I haven't let anyone touch my hair in years because it's literally my baby, I went in for highlights and a cut with a gentlemen but can't remember his name :(. After finishing I wasn't satisfied with how blonde it came out an Jenny the owner slash receptionist knew it instantly. As soon as I returned to my hotel Jenny called me and asked me to come back in later that day because she wanted nothing but for me to be happy. After all said and done Pablo her husband was amazing at what he does! My hair was perfect and he even gave me a Miami curl to match :) the place was clean and cute.
