I needed a last-minute cut and scheduled with the salon via text (since I've been there before and had their contact). The scheduling was quick and easy, with the employee on the other end being so professional, helpful, and kind. I ended up going with a new stylist since my usual stylist was booked. The employee told me her name (the new stylist) was Emilee and I was booked for Friday at 6:45pm. When I arrived, the place was fairly empty - an unusual experience for me since I typically go on a weekend morning/afternoon when it's busy. It was nice to enjoy the space without many people! The salon is clean, beautiful, and comfortable, with different products decorating the main front wall. I checked in with front desk attendant (who was very kind) and only had to wait a couple minutes before Emilee came to get me. I was not only her last appointment for the day, but the very last appointment for the entire salon! It was a neat experience! Emilee is an absolute gem of a human. She immediately made me feel comfortable with her welcoming warmth and kindness. She is so down-to-earth and genuine; it felt like I was chatting with a friend! She gave me everything I wanted with my haircut, checking in with me every so often to see how I felt about the length, part, and side bangs. She even showed me a trick on how to calm down my fly-aways/new growth (a neat technique with a special comb and a little hairspray). Really disappointed with this visit. I asked for a light trim on the ends and to clean up the bulky sides and even showed a reference photo but way too much hair was cut off. It ended up removing most of my perm that I had paid $200 for which was really frustrating. I felt like I was clear about what I wanted so this just wasn't what I expected. read more

My haircut was great it looks really good. However, I was charged for a curly haircut when I requested a regular haircut. I have had a curly cut here previously where she cut my hair dry with its natural texture, and then washed it and touched it up. This time, I came in with my hair straightened and had what I would consider a normal haircut. When I said that I had not received a curly cut, I was told that because of the texture of my hair, this service was still considered a curly cut which costs more than a normal haircut. I was not informed of this when booking or before the service. Quite frankly, I have wavy hair at best so this is just disappointing. read more

I showed her my inspiration pics and she talked me through them making sure I understood how much styling I would have to do to make it look like the photo. She was very sweet and I felt so bad bc I have such thick hair it took her a little bit but she did great. She did a full foil balayage with cut and shadow root. My hair came out so pretty. She recommended a tone color she thought I'd like and she was right. What I did like was that if she had a question regarding something she had the senior stylists help or the owner. I've been going to Danica for color and cut for the past seven years--she is the absolute best! She is a wizard at color. She's dyed my hair several radically different colors over the years (removed blue from my hair, dyed it white blonde, different shades of red, browns, and black) and every single color has been fire. It took probably two or three years to move from one extreme (white blond) to another (brown-black) and every step in between looked great. My hair stayed healthy through all of this color work because Danica knows the limits of how much hair can take at once. She knows which bangs will suit your face shape. She's cut mine in a few different styles from long 70s bangs to short Bettie Page ones. I really cannot recommend her enough. My experience at Salon Patine has wonderful. The front desk is always really nice and helpful if I've needed to reschedule. The salon is clean and I've never had an issue with parking. However I drive around to the back alley and found they have a parking lot in the back of their building making it super convenient to park. I can't say enough about David but he did a great job with me as this was my first time in the salon. He asked me what I wanted and I was able to show him pictures so he knew what I had in mind. I was in town for a very formal wedding. The salon set me yp w Bri. She was phenomenal! We went over what my dress looked like, what I had in mind and I asked her for suggestions. She had a first class half up half down do done in under an hour that was PERFRCT! So much so that while walking around Santa Barbara prior to the wedding I received random compliments from strangers on my hair!
