The salon has gone through some growth spurts over the years and it is really looking great! The space is inviting and the color scheme is vibrant and beachy, like their location on the Mesa. Parking is metered (and sometimes scarce) in the front, but not to worry swing on back behind the building (by the cliff room) and you will find an abundance of parking spots. Whether you know exactly what you want and even if you don't, don't fret they have plenty of magazines/books with ideas and all of the hairdressers are experienced and can shape a fantastic cut or new look that suits you well. A thing about getting exactly what you want is this, if you come in with black hair and want it blond please, note that these professionals will not damage your hair in one shot. I really wanted to make this my salon but I know it isn't for everyone. I had my hair cut with Nancy. She's a sweet person and very educated. However, I didn't like my hair cut. It looked butchered when straight. She did mention if I wasn't satisfied and wanted to cut it the way I wanted to contact her. Divine Hair Studio is an absolutely fantastic place! And Mollie needs to add "magician extraordinare" to her list of stylist credentials! So here's the scoop: I had been seeing my regular stylist for 24 years until he recently died. I went to a shop downtown where he last had a booth after closing his long-time De la Vina shop. This was where a woman took my beautiful sun-kissed blonde hair and turned it into a mud brown. It was a devastating experience! Enter stage right, Mollie at Divine: She sympathetically and patiently listened to my story of woe. Then after a brief consultation with the team, she worked her magic. Mollie used a gentle color remover treatment and then applied a low volume bleach to not cause more damage and did a mini highlight to protect the integrity of my hair. This process didn't return me to my original hard-earned blonde streaks, but it was a world of difference from the muddy brown. I felt more like myself again! It was truly amazing! And not only did Mollie use gentle products to protect my fine hair, but she also didn't do a more expensive full highlight, but opted for a mini -- putting the integrity of my hair above making money. Very impressive! It's been almost two months now and I return for a full highlight next week. It'll be great to see Mollie and her welcoming and friendly team of sylists. I'm thrilled I found this Santa Barbara gem -- both Divine and Mollie! And will definitely be returning for years to come!!! read more

I told her I wanted it shoulder length but that she could style it however she thought looked best. She did a great job. She also gives an aaaamazing head massage when she washes your hair. I have seen Crystal at Charm salon for the Brazilian blow out and I keep coming back to her. She is thorough with the process. For those of you ladies who have had it done, you know how important every section needs to be perfect. One bad section, and that frizz will haunt you for months until the BBO in the rest of the hair washes out. She also charges a fair price. I am talking LA prices ladies! Which means you can actually afford to have it done every 3-4 months, and look like you naturally have beach waves. I swear every time I get it done, I feel like a Reef girl! Sara and Crystal are a great team because Crystal had 4 clients at once and managed us beautifully with Sara's help. I'd go to Sara any day as well if you can't get in with Crystal. I'm happy to find someone local within walking distance to give me a great price on the Brazilian Blowout. They also offer waxing and affordable makeup application for $75. I have been going to Hair Select for around five or more years. Rosa has always worked on my hair. She does an amazing job where others at different salons have often fallen short with my thin wavy hair. Once I found Rosa, there was no going back to any other. She also offers permanent make up services. I'm thinking about having eyeliner tattooed on my eye lids. This would be a big step for me as I have never had any tattoos. I recently got my hair done at a different salon in town. I wasn't 100% please with my results because I was going for a completely different look. Best salon and service hands down! I'm so grateful I found this gem. Crystal knew exactly what I wanted without much explanation on my part. I went from (initially) blue-black to a brassy red (by a terrible colorist in Ventura). In one treatment, no bleach, Crystal transformed me to a violet-cherry red and I wasn't there for hours on end! She was fast yet efficient, focused and offered a delicious glass of Rose. All in all, would recommend her to anyone who is in need of color assistance. A number of my female friends go there for great styling and other female stuff (some things they just keep to themselves). All in all, if you want the best, go to Hair Select and ask for Crystal. She has a great personality and will find a way for you to look your best. Remember, folks, we live in SB, a town overflowing with beautiful people.
