For all the yelp reviews I've ever read, this is my first time ever posting.....I always dreaded getting my hair done as it seems no one can ever cut matching sideburns and decent bangs! I was looking for a local salon and based on the other yelp reviews, I thought I'd give this place a try. Michelle was awesome and took great care with my color, highlights, and cut! She is a perfectionist and it was obvious! This was the first time I have EVER left a salon without any leftover dye on my face and neck!!! From my picture you can tell I am not the one to use the service I don't have beautiful hair to style ;) but my wife went there today and she was helped by Mike and she was very happy with the service as well as Mike's customer service. She was referred by someone from her work and her cut came out great along with the Balayage, cut and blow dry. She had been looking for someone that had good reviews and it's so tough sometimes when trying someone new. I actually met her at a high end salon in Newport Beach and she was amazing. I searched for her until i found her!!! Yes she left that type of impression on me. She is great at what she does, she listens to you she gives you her honest opinion and the results are amazing!! Shes always making sure that your well taken care of during your entire visit, she will offer you water snacks even an alcoholic beverage!!! The salon is super cute too. Mike is the man. I took on the task of bleaching my son's hair trying to get it as close to platinum as I could because he wanted silver. Of course being my first time I screwed it up my son's hair looked brassy so Mike told me what kind of purple shampoo to use .I took my son to the salon to get his hair done and Mike made it look beautiful my son was happy I was happy very knowledgeable staff wonderful atmosphere. This was my first experience at the salon, and unfortunately it will be my last. I'm happy with my haircut, so there's that. But my experience was less than pleasant or moderately comfortable. This review is for my fellow females. If you're a young, cute nice girl who hasn't quite learned the art of saying the following: "I only want a haircut, not for you to hit on me." Or, "I feel uncomfortable with the way you're speaking to me." Or, "Please don't reach in for a hug when I'm clearly not going in for one." Then, I recommend you go elsewhere. It's unfair that one even has to worry about this sort of thing when seeking a simple service. The hair artist, Mike was unprofessional and borderline inappropriate in the way he dealt with a first-time customer of no prior rapport. It is a difficult situation to be in when I can't exactly leave w/ my wet, partially cut hair, but I suppose that's what I should've done in the first place. I followed Mike when he previously worked at another salon. This salon is brand new and freshly opened and I'm glad he has his own place now ! The salon is super clean ! His chairs are super comfy so don't worry about sitting for too long! I've had two sessions done with Mike and Liz to get a blonde balayage. Mike explained to me I would need about 2-3 sessions so my hair doesn't die out. Each session lasted about 2 hrs! I've been to salons that would make me sit for 6 hrs and it wouldn't even come out to the color I want! Super affordable! I work and go to school so I'm always looking for affordable pricing and great quality! I definitely found my new go to salon after so many trust issues with others! Looking for the salon may be a bit hard but you can always find parking on the street and walk there. It's located in a beautiful city so I didn't mind walking (less than a min). (: After each of my service they give me some advice to how to take care of my hair properly. Especially since I'm going blonde it'll be pretty dead.. Liz told me to buy purple shampoo and told me which one she recommended to help maintain my hair color. She even offered to help me get the shampoo from the store because they didn't have any to sell in the pervious salon they worked at. Today Mike informed me about this leave in conditioner to help my hair from being so dry and brittle and it smells amazing!! Mike and Liz are the perfect duo! Ladies, this salon is amazing!!!!!!!!!! I stumbled upon it by reading the review and went in for the first time this afternoon. The owner Mike did my hair and worked miracles!!!! Everyone there are incredibly friendly and welcoming and the vibe is so cool. Pricing is very reasonable as my color and cut was 130.00 which is what I have been paying at other salons. I have been getting my hair cut, dyed, and toned by Ingrid the past couple of times and I absolutely love her. She is super sweet and always gets my hair exactly how I want it. I highly recommend getting your hair done by her! What I really like is she is realistic with you about your hair to make sure you are getting the best possible thing done to your hair. Ingrid did such a great job with my hair! I used to have a go-to hair lady but I always go to Ingrid now. My hair was coarse and super brassy and I walked out with silky, healthy hair. She's really gentle and she always takes the time to understand what you want. She's so sweet and she gives snacks and drinks while you get your hair done. Before I discuss my experience, I want to mention that this salon has a very welcoming environment and I really liked the decor. As for my experience, I have blonde hair and needed a root touch-up, so as I was searching online for a hair salon near me, I found Salon Prohibition, which had numerous good reviews on Yelp, Groupon, and Google, so I decided to schedule an appointment for balayage/highlights root touch-up and spoke with Mike, who said that he can make my hair look like the picture I showed him. Well, my hair didn't look like the picture at all, or no where near it in fact, as he only did balayage, which not only looked uneven, but was totally brassy, even after applying toner to the hair, which is exactly what I did not want to begin with, especially because the rest of the hair is almost platinum. When I expressed that I didn't like my hair, Mike stated that I could do either babylights or a root smudge to fix the hair, but the partial highlights were an additional $120. Since I thought I was getting highlights and balayage, I didn't purchased the Groupon deal, which was specifically for balayage, so I paid $200 for this root touch-up and it's definitely not within my budget to spend another $120 for babylights/highlights; therefore, I don't think I'll be returning for another appointment. I'm definitely not happy with the results because my hair didn't come out like how I expected it to be or like the picture at all and it's hard to hide the brassy roots no matter how I part my hair and blue shampoo didn't help either. I have to wait a few more months before I can get my hair fixed. read more
