I went to Salon Ray Bon to try out a new place, and it ended up being one of the worst salon experiences I've ever had. I only got a few highlights -- the whole appointment took less than an hour -- and they charged me almost $500. When I left, my hair didn't even look any different. I felt completely scammed. On top of that, the vibe inside was just bad. It honestly seemed like the owner didn't care about the clients at all, only about taking their money. The whole experience felt unprofessional and uncomfortable. I would never recommend this salon. Save your money and go somewhere that values their customers and actually delivers results. Salon Raybon is a bad joke!! I went in for a root color & cut. We discussed putting a few highlights to frame my face. I was there 1 hour 20 minutes. I handed my credit card to the cashier, she ask if I wanted a receipt I said yes, got home and eventually looked at my receipt and I was speechless!! I have no problem paying for expensive things and services I want. $555.76 was totally outrageous for the services I received. I have been to the high end salons here and I know what to expect when getting services. I would have never expected to pay this much for what I received!! These people didn't know me and from what I've learned they allow the stylist to make up their own charges. The place was convenient and I gave them a try. I would pay that price for a full highlight/ root color,lift, cut and style at one of the high end Salons in Baton Rouge as I have many times and would be there over 3 hours. Salon Raybon was a bad experience bad business. I have learned a valuable lesson. This business is not reputable, not honest they are con artists taking advantage of people. I'm sure they have some people that are their regulars that do not pay this kind of money for the minimum service I received. Haven't had a professional haircut in over a year. I was very appreciative of Rachel who was very calm even though she'd been warned that I may be a difficult client. She listened to what I needed and she took off about 3 inches. Hair looks healthier very close to after pictures below because I haven't changed my hair style in about 8 years. Salon Raybon was very accommodating in degrada to my schedule- no- I can't schedule my next appointment because K can't promise I won't be in court or a deposition. I got my hair cut here a while ago. I don't remember the name of the stylist who cut my hair but I do remember she was new. She kept asking me if I wanted to thin out my hair since it's more thick/wavy and even after I refused, she used the thinning shears anyway. She shouldn't be cutting my hair based on her preference, it should be based on what I wanted. Also, I have nothing against dogs but I've always had a small fear of them, so I asked the owner if she could just put the puppy in the office or away just for a short time and she blatantly refused. It is her salon and she can do what she wants but it's a small gesture she could've done for a customer. read more

Love love love this salon. I am not from the area and need a quick haircut but was uncertain where would be a good place to try. Booking online is super quick and I personally did the questionnaire in the salon after my booking request was accepted. All completely reasonable questions with the hope of building customer loyalty and to get to know my expectations and needs better! Mary cut my hair and did exactly what I asked for and more. Mary was so knowledgeable about every product she used and took the time to explain / suggest products in my price range. The cherry on top was how amazing the salon looked, super modern, comfortable, and CLEAN. I will be back to book more appointments, they have so many self care service options, very versatile salon. read more

First off, I was referred here to get 50% off my visit. They completely ignored that. I was clear that I wanted my roots to match my balayage (light blonde)and explained that my hair is resistant so it needs more time to get to the result I wanted and second I needed to permanently(at least for 3-5 months) straighten my hair. They suggested their Max Keratin treatment, not the regular one,to do after getting the desired color. Without listening to me,they did a 15 minute bleach and said I had to book another appointment. I left with orange hair. Long story short,they made me book 3 sessions without getting the color I wanted.they did a messy job having literally 5 colors in my hair AND ruining my sweater by spilling bleach on it without offerin an apology. My hair was so bad that they offered a free session to fix it but they ended up ruining it more and after the Keratin treatment, my hair wasn't even one bit smoother, let alone straight. When I asked them for my money back, they said it is what it is and this is how we do it in America! Very racist! I disputed their charges and still, NOTHING. I'll give them a zero for their terrible behavior and charging me for the service I didn't get and my hair is damaged and I'm out of $800. read more

Called to make an appointment and was told I had to book it online. So, I booked an appointment on line, then I was emailed some weird questionnaire asking things like "how often do you get your hair done" and "how much money are you willing to spend on your hair? $, $$, $$$." I chose two dollar signs as my response and submitted the questionnaire. A short while later, I received a call from this salon telling me that my online appointment had to be cancelled because they could not accommodate my request, double booked, blah blah blah. Sounded like a load of BS to me- won't call again and I will tell everyone I know not to go there. read more

THE GOOD: The stylists are talented, as individuals. THE BAD: THE OWNER. The Salon's website states the following "Cancellation Policy: 24 hour notice. Three cancellations or 3, 15+ minute late appointments will result in client becoming "walk in status." i.e. if you are A FEW MINUTES LATE A COUPLE OF TIMES YOU CAN NO LONGER SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT. In reality, if you MISS ONE APPOINTMENT they will no longer answer the phone when you call. What's worse, and UNPUBLISHED on the website nor within the salon is that the owner CHARGES YOUR CREDIT/DEBIT CARD THE FULL AMOUNT OF THE PROSPECTIVE APPOINTMENT, $70 plus, even if you are a few minutes late AND TILL SHOW UP they cancel your appointment , charge you and hope you don't notice the charge.
