He does a fantastic job with my hair and bonus!--he's fun to hang out with. He's a genius with color, and he highlights my boring dirty blond/mousy brown to a gorgeous blond that I get tons of compliments on. His cuts are great--if you want something specific, he'll make it happen; if you don't know what you want, he'll delight you with something fun and flattering. I have been a client of Bryan Cummins for more than six years and I honestly can't imagine letting ANYONE else touch my hair. He has a voracious passion for what he is doing and really understands the science behind color. In the time that I have known him I've had countless treatments including a Brazilian Blowout (which I'm obsessed with) and balayage coloring and always walk away thrilled and stunned. I found Sin E through Yelp and because they had such good reviews I decided to give them a chance... My usual stylist (whom I have been going to for 11 years) moved out of the state so I was very nervous trying out a new place... BUT my experience at Sin E was AWESOME and all of the positive reviews are accurate!!! I booked my appointment with Ryan and he was ready for me when I walked through the door... the ambiance in the salon was relaxing and chic... Ryan sat me down and consulted with me about my hair, what I wanted, what I liked... and off he went... EVERYONE in the salon works together like a well oiled machine and EVERYONE in the salon was super courteous and the whole experience from the moment I walked in until the moment I left, was awesome... I'm so glad I tried this place because I finally found my hair stylist! I've been going there for 2 years now. Ryan knows exactly what cut looks good for me, and his cut lasts about 8 weeks. (I do have long hair) What I love about it is that his cut looks good effortlessly. Of course "the day of" looks good because he styles it nicely, but I can just blow dry it at home and it looks good. I get more compliments about my hair now, and I love it! I also was never told by a hair stylist to uncross my legs during the cut because it tilts the straight line. Hair cut is a serious business! ;-) Both Maggie and Ryan are friendly and professional. I haven't had my hair cut at a salon in about three years - I've been having a friend cut it for me. I heard about this salon and it's reasonable prices so I decided to check it out. The salon is bright and clean and the staff is really friendly. I had my hair cut by Ryan but not before I had the most relaxing shampoo/wash experience of my life - it was virtually a scalp massage. I don't know exactly how much time went by because I started falling asleep. After a grueling week of finals, it was just the thing I needed. Ryan did an amazing job. I generally don't spend a lot of time styling my hair so I needed a cut/style that I could just blow dry and walk out the door with. He listened to what I wanted and he delivered. Check plus! In addition, the products used at this salon have a light and fresh fragrance. I received many compliments on the style and scent of my hair (as strange as the last part may sound it's true). There are other perks to this salon besides the great and relaxing services it provides. It's location is just as wonderful as the salon itself. It is located next door to Artisan Cheese Gallery and across the street from a Trader Joe's. I suggest making an afternoon of it by visiting the salon, getting an amazing panini next door, and do some grocery shopping before heading home. I'm giving 5 stars, but I'm really giving the recommendation to Bryan Cummins. The salon itself is nice and convenient to where I live and work, but I would honestly follow Bryan anywhere in the city. Maybe even to Orange County. Yes, that's how much I love him. Bryan gives the most GORGEOUS highlights and makes my dirty dishwater blonde hair sunny and beautiful. No one realizes that I get it highlighted, and I get compliments all the time. He also gives a great cut. And he's sweet and easy to talk to, to boot! True love, people. This salon feels hip and urban without being pretentious. Maggie was the right mix of chatty, witty, sassy and serious. My first visit to Salon Sine and I'm already a huge fan. I saw the positive reviews on Yelp and figured I'd give the salon a try. So glad that I did! Maggie did my cut and color. She rehabbed my hair cut (I had some ill advised and badly cut layers) and asked me a lot of questions to really figure out what I wanted for my color. She was patient with me with my limited adjectives (dark, warm, chocolaty, warm...) and figured out exactly what I meant. I love my color and love my cut! I love these guys. Truly. I moved to LA five years ago and visited a handful of other salons before settling on Sine. These guys love their craft, want you to look your best, but also want your hair to stay healthy over the long term. They're not going to flat iron you (unless it's what you really want) just because it's a quick styling fix...they're invested in doing what's best for the health of your hair and I know from experience not all stylists take that approach. I also love that Sine is zero pretense. It's people who care about taking good care of you and your hair, minus all the attitude that you get from so many other salons where sometimes it feels as though the staff cares more about what they look like than what you're looking like. So if you want to step into an over-blown scene, maybe this isn't the place for you. If you want talented professionals in a personal, down-to-earth salon, then this is the place. Ryan is an amazing stylist. He took care of my hair for 2 years while I lived in Studio City, before I moved to Santa Monica. I can't say enough about the great work he does. I got a Groupon for Salon Sin E, so of course, that was the first perk: discounted hair service! Another perk is the location. However, parking in that area isn't ideal, but there's free public parking right up the street at Vons/CVS, so that's my suggestion. It's less than a 3-minute walk. Maggie is great. Her tongue is as sharp as her wit, which is always a refreshing treat (if you're into dry humor), and she'll definitely keep you on your toes. She's also great with hair, and while she'll give you her opinion, she'll ultimately let you make the final call, minus that feeling of guilt and shame you get with other stylists. Unfortunately, I can't speak about the pricing, as I got the Groupon. However, it mayyyy be a little out of my price range, which is a sad thought :( But I will visit at least one more time to find out what the full price of my styling needs are, and then make the decision then. I go to Salon SinE for Bryan Cummins, who is an absolutely incredible artist with color. He spent hours on my blah hair and turned it into a work of art. He used a process called balayage, which makes the color look natural, gradual, and flat-out gorgeous. Bryan is a painstaking artist and a wonder to watch. His cuts are fantastic, too. It was my birthday and I was walking past Salon Sine, when I made an impromptu decision to get my hair cut. Maggie (the owner) greeted me warmly and said that Ryan, the other stylist who works at the salon, would be cutting my hair. The entire staff seemed genuinely interested in me, and made me feel welcome. Ryan did a great job on my cut, and spent a lot of extra time putting it in rollers, to create a special look for my upcoming night out - free of charge. As my service wrapped up, Maggie walked in with a cupcake, complete with a birthday candle, and they sang "Happy Birthday" to me. Some of these negative reviews truly do not belong. This salon is worth checking out if you are new to the neighborhood or just want to explore your salon options if you haven't done so in while. I discovered Salon Sine when I moved into the neighborhood. I remember it being the highest rated salon in my area so I had to check it out. It wasn't until today's haircut that I realized I have been going now for over 3 years!! Unlike most hair salons, everyone works as a team to give customers a better experience. During this time, I have found Maggie, Ryan, and Autry exceptional in taking care of my needs as a customer. For example, I am always asked whether I want any water or coffee. When my stomach rumbles since I have not eaten all day, they ask whether I would like them to order me any food from the delicious shop next door--Get the Maggie special!! On my first visit, Ryan asked whether I parked in the meter while Autry cut my air. I answered yes and he asked me where I parked so he could go check on the meter for me; I had parked at a meter because I was running late. Ryan actually went out an extended my time without me asking and the parking meter maid came by 5 minutes later and ticketed the guy in front of me. Now on to the hair! I have cowlics...and lots of them in the front and the rear. It always takes a haircut or two for a new stylist to excel at cutting my hair. I have been extremely satisfied every time I have been. Even the one time I was disappointed that I didn't ask them to cut it short enough, I called in and asked whether they could see me again two days later. They said to come in and they cut it no questions asked and it was evident they were more interested in me being happy about my haircut than the time they were putting into it. read more

Maggie is a fantastic stylist. She is very attentive and listens to what you want your hair to look like when she's done. So many stylists have their own agenda, which seems to take precedence over yours. Not Maggie. Your cut is about you you, not her or her ego. And Maggie takes her time; she's never in a rush. Other stylists have made me feel like like they were in a hurry to get somewhere else, or had to get their next client in my chair as soon as possible.
