This time around I came in for a full hair transformation (I have thick, course hair and naturally a dark brown color) I came in with inspiration pictures & was so ready to make the change. Leslie took her time explaining my color palette and which tones would look best on my skin tone. She also helped create a haircut that suited my lifestyle ( I need something professional, edgy and fun to style ) she suggested taking out weight, which normally I would have to say a HARD no. However, she explained the intention behind each snip and how it would benefit my hair, scalp health & overall look. Needless to say , I walked out of the salon feeling like a total Pop Star she gave me thorough instructions on how to take care of my red hair color, how often I need to come in and product suggestions that will maintain the health of my hair. She also offers personalized 30 day roadmaps to ensure her clients are supported during their hair journey (how amazing!) She's simply the best! I can't recommend her enough. I had a poor experience with Meg earlier in the year when I went in for a haircut and highlights. I had liked my previous experiences with her and had sent her new clients, but will no longer be recommending her after my last visit as [[HIGHLIGHT]]I found her communication and business practices to be quite shoddy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I confirmed the price with her ahead of our appointment and once again during our consultation. I had also received a discount code from her that she said she would apply to the visit. Midway through our appointment while we were making small talk she abruptly informed me that she would be charging me more than what she herself had confirmed during the consultation. It came out of nowhere and was very disorienting. When I reminded her of the discount, she made something up on the spot about how the new higher price still reflected the discount. It was super shady and vague and I felt extremely uncomfortable. I could not leave because my head was wrapped in foil and bleach when she chose to announce this change. The color also did not come out the way we had discussed and she pretty much rushed me out of the chair while we were still within our appointment window and kept making passive aggressive jabs about how she had other clients coming in and how she should charge me even more. It's clear that she was disorganized and had not planned her schedule well and was taking that urgency out on her clients. I found the experience to be unprofessional and baffling and will not be returning. read more

I come in every 2-3 months and I always get something that's current and yet it feels new somehow. I am extremely impressed- I have never had extensions look and feel this good. They are light, easy to style, and they look completely natural. I've been seeing Leslie Natalie at Westfolk for years, and her work is so incredible and such a true self-care experience, I've gladly traveled from the Westside to the Studio City and Sherman Oaks area to see her as she is detailed & thorough, listens well to my needs and educates on product, walks you through each step to understand the process of the treatment. I love that she uses low-toxic hair products as well. I never thought her formaldehyde free keratin treatment would be better than the original Brazilian Blowout, but it's truly been the most effective keratin treatment I have had, and she gives amazing tips for my at home hair rituals to maintain the treatment, along with other healthy-hair habits that make caring for my thick, curly hair low-maintenance. I have known Megan so many hair colors ago (around or almost 20 years) and I have nothing but kind words to say about her. She is such a wonderful hairstylist and an amazing person. She is VERY Welcoming to every single person that walks through that door. She makes sure everyone is comfortable and even asks if they would like some sort of refreshment. She will come in earlier than usual or stay later than her business hours to accommodate her clients needs. She is always honest with her clients (which you don't see that often) and provides guidance when their clients aren't sure of what they want. I made an appointment on Wednesday for a Friday haircut with Kalia for my daughter. Westfolk's online booking system first sends an email that states that the appointment is pending, and must be confirmed by the stylist before it is officially booked. I received an email that the stylist had confirmed the appointment a few hours later. When we arrived two minutes before our appointment time, Megan, the co-owner of the salon, just stared at us. No greeting, no welcome, no "how can we help you" or "do you have an appointment?". It was such a bafflingly rude foot to start on that I was confused for a few seconds about what was going on. I am not sure if Megan is good at hair, but she certainly is not good with people. I let her know I had an appointment booked for 1:15. It was 1:13 and she said the stylist wasn't there yet. Not a great first impression, but I was willing to endure. As we got to 5 minutes past the appointment time with the stylist still not being there, Megan starts volunteering that the salon that she owns doesn't take responsibility for the stylists that rent from her, they all just rent their chairs. Then, in a weird attempt to somehow shift blame to me(??), she asks with a pointed tone when I booked the appointment. The answer was two days prior, but with their confirmation system in place and my appointment being manually confirmed, it frankly doesn't matter if it were this morning or 4 weeks ago. The stylist confirmed the appointment time. It was single handedly the worst and most uncomfortable situation I have ever had at a salon. I had enough and was not going to sit there and absorb her awful energy and bad customer service. The stylist wasn't there at our agreed upon time, and the owner took that short period of time to show her true, insufferable self . There are hundreds of well qualified and much nicer stylists and salon owners within a few miles of here. It is not that hard to go to a salon that values their customers and treats people with respect. Were it not for Megan, I would have waited for Kalia and probably wouldn't have even taken a star off for her being late. Punctuality is important but working for a salon that doesn't treat their customers as disposable is even more important. Run, girl! read more

Come for the hair stay for the coffee (sometimes wine). I have been going to Megan, one of the owners, forever. She has taken me from blonde to red to brown to platinum and back around again. My hair has seriously never been healthier. She is honest when I ask for something that may cause damage or won't suit my face, and is mindful when I'm on a time crunch or need to watch my spending.
