I happened upon this salon accidentally. I was in a little bit of a desperate situation, and trying to find a salon. I called trim, TIM was so helpful in giving me an appointment, making clear what services I needed, giving me the prices and Best part of all, asked me to send photos of my hair since this was my first time. Dani, the owner was so welcoming, frankly everybody was really welcoming and they made me feel very comfortable. The salon decor is beautiful. It's bright and airy and very clean. I can't say enough about how happy I am to have found this SALON and I would encourage anyone in my neighborhood or anyone to give them a try. Fatima was my stylist, kinda the luck of the drawer. And I have to say I was very lucky. She took so much care in getting my color just right, making sure my highlights took, didn't mind the extra developing time. And the cut... The cut was perfect. Remember this is the first time she ever laid eyes on me and she got the cut perfect right off the bat. She is wonderful. I highly recommend Fatima and this salon. read more

Nadirah is the best! I've been going to her for several years now, and I can honestly say this is the best my hair has ever looked. She's incredibly skilled at doing blonde color. She always makes it look stunning and natural. It has great dimension, it's so shiny, plus she keeps it soft and healthy! Not only is Nadirah amazing with color, but she's also really skilled with cuts. I constantly get compliments on my hair. On top of that, Nadiah is really fun to talk to. The salon itself has a great vibe. You always feel welcome and comfortable the second you walk in. Everyone there is friendly and professional. Nadirah is truly a specialist. She was even hired in the past to travel the world teaching other stylists advanced techniques. But now I'm glad she's here in LA! Her expertise with both cuts and color are on another level. I could tell I was not the clientele they catered to. While sitting with my hair half dried and my bangs jacked up-Leslie left me in my chair for 20 minutes while she went to 'wash' another client. Clearly more important to me. Pretty sure the brush was still hanging from my hair. She did even comb it out straight. But the price is the same right? Orit is officially my new favorite human!! I've only been to her twice and I don't know how I survived without her. I found her through a friend of mine, and I'm never looking back. She is so talented and really takes the time to listen to me and what I want out of each session. I am a very indecisive person so I asked her opinion on cut and color based on the photos I came in with and she gave me her professional opinion and have loved the outcome each time. Her coloring looks so natural and not streaky like I sometimes see on other women. On top of her talent, Orit has one of the sweetest souls I have ever met. Let me start off by saying how wonderful each experience I've had with this salon! I found out about this business by stumbling upon a hair professional, Orit, on Pinterest. I was able to contact her via Instagram, which led me to my first complimentary consultation. Orit led me through the risks and benefits relating to my box dyed hair color. I decided to book a second consultation with her a week later to do a hair strand test to see if my hair takes the dye; keep in mind the second consultation and the testing of my hair strand was also complementary. The two times I've arrived, I was greeted by their receptionist Leslie, who offered me complementary coffee, tea, or water. Orit did such a great job on my hair! Talking me through every step (it was my first time doing a hair salon hair treatment) and making sure I was informed and comfortable. She was sweet enough to bring me a fresh cup of tea! Dani, the owner, checked on me and complementing Orit for her excellent work on my hair. I should also mention that the parking was complementary, too! Oh my gosh! I think I've found my forever home here! I've been to several stylists in LA (cut and color stylists). Let me tell you, Orit, is so gracious and really knows her craft. I came in to try and soften a cut and tone down a partial highlight I received a couple months ago. Orit really took the time to listen to me, look at examples of pictures I saved for reference and showed me color swatches before we started the process. I was very clear on what to expect before Orit started working on my hair. Orit was able to breathe life back into my life and I truly felt so much more confident after my cut and color. She really took her time to make sure I was happy with the cut and the color. She moved with caution and I really appreciated that. Orit also gave me a few helpful tips on hair care and products to use specifically for my type of hair and issues I addressed with her. I've stopped enjoying the salon; the owner Dani's schedule became so unpredictable and challenging to schedule; that I needed to move on. Salon itself is lovely, a boutique nestled in a quiet area and always kept incredibly clean. Owner is meticulous in keeping Salon clean and attractive; pricing was very reasonable. Realized that despite requests to keep hair healthier with less chemical processing, my request was being consistently ignored - owner jokes that client's hair she's working on is "her hair" - and it became clear that she really does do what she feels is best - even if it's not the healthiest option for the client's hair - or what they've requested. In many cases due to owner's scheduling, leaving early for personal plans, I would end up leaving the salon after the owner had; front desk assistant would finish my appointment; not ideal. I got a recommendation for this salon, specifically for the salon's owner Dani, and I was blown away! I'm not a LA local so I have not had a chance to establish my stylist here and the last haircut I had was so disappointing, the subsequent haircut I gave myself. I came to Dani with a mop and a fear of layers and came out with a layered cut that is so beautiful and sits so well I barely even have to style it with heat. Even my husband commented, which I know every woman says how their husband can never tell, but mine truly cannot tell I will chop off 7 inches and he will say 'is it shorter?' so when he called this the best and 'cleanest' hair cut he's even seen on me, I knew it was something special. Full disclosure, I do not speak husband-talk well and I don't know what he meant by 'clean' but I can tell he really likes it. All joking aside, Dani is incredible, not just because of the art she creates with hair, but because of her warm, open and accommodating nature. tl;dr look at my pics and ask if that's worth $648. I'd been having my hair cut by Frida for a couple of years and decided to use her for a color change a few months ago. This turned out to be a MASSIVE mistake. I texted her some pics of brown to blonde bombre (balayage & ombre) and asked if it was possible to get to that from my current black. I was told we could come close. I told her I had some pravana color remover and asked if I should use it before I went in, she said yes. I went in June 28th and spent several hours with her having my hair stripped and colored. At the end of this session I was very unhappy as I'd been given traditional foil highlights on the top half of my hair which were very stripey and unnatural and right at my roots. (Frida later said you can only do balayage on virgin hair... okay not sure that's true but if so shouldn't you have, I don't know, TOLD ME THAT BEFORE DOING IT??) Also, the ends of my layers from the top were not highlighted at all so a bunch of dark hair was sitting on dark blonde highlights. It was so super weird looking that Frida even asked me to put my hair half up for the "after" pic she took to hide it. And, the roots of my hair were lighter than the bottom half, opposite of natural, and the top was ashy while the bottom half was in warm caramel tones. In addition she didn't cut my hair like normal because she "didn't want to "cut off all the highlights" which probably should've been taken into account beforehand... no? Frida told me to come in about a week later in order to fix the the weird dark hair on top and anything else I didn't like. Unfortunately all she accomplished at this session was to COMPLETELY FRY my hair because she just wouldn't listen to me and kept thinking that I was just upset it wasn't blonde enough. This is despite me telling her many times that I knew going blonde from black without damage would take awhile. In order to fix the crazy highlights and make them appear balayaged she dumped toner on my scalp while I was in the shampoo chair. As anyone can guess, instead of a nice ombred fade my hair just went from dark to light all of a sudden. On top of this it didn't color evenly so I ended up with a lighter color near my scalp and then a dark area and then the highlights. It was just a patchy shit show everywhere. (Frida later complained that I came in with "hot roots" so it wasn't her fault. Again, she told me to use the pravana beforehand and if she didn't feel competent to fix hot roots she should have told me that BEFORE working on my hair and charging me a shit ton of money). After this I wrote to the salon owner Dani and sent pics and after seeing them she immediately offered to refund my money or fix my hair herself and get me a partial refund. I was super relieved that I would be able to fix the atrocity on top of my head. Unfortunately, Frida is an independent contractor and has decided that she did a GREAT job that was worth almost $700. She sent me text messages whining and telling me to remember that "this is her job". Yeah cause I didn't work at my job to make the money to pay you. I guess her time and money is more important than mine. In any case she is refusing to refund me the half I disputed. She even creeped on my facebook and printed my profile photo to send to the bank as "proof". My facebook photo that, mind you, was filtered six ways from Sunday until I looked like I'm strawberry blonde lol. In regards to Dani, I think she did an admirable job trying to fix the damage Frida had done. Unfortunately there are still patches that just couldn't be fixed. Obviously it's hard to get one random patch of hair to match the exact shade of another once they're two different colors. Now, almost 3 months later, my hair has grown out a bit, so I now have four striated shades of hair. I don't know what the hell to do to fix it and haven't been refunded ANY money. I guess ultimately, I paid $648 to have shitty hair for the next 4-5 years while I grow what once was lovely, extremely healthy, waist length hair completely out again. So, yeah, don't go to Frida for color, guys. read more

I've been anticipating getting my hair done for a really long time, but due to my busy schedule, I wasn't able to find a great stylist. A coworker of mine came to work one day with beautiful, dyed hair and I immediately asked her who her hair stylist was. She recommended Nareh and it was truly the best recommendation. Nareh's hands are made of gold. She has a great eye for colors that compliment your skin color. She is the only hair stylist I've been to that's done EXACTLY what I asked her to do. Whether it was her cut or balayage, she did a flawless job. Nareh is a perfectionist and strives to perfect her work. She is the first stylist who's work and service I've been completely proud of. Where have you been all my life, Nareh?! The salon she works at is nicely decorated. I adore being there! The rolling stone quote on the wall and the pictures next to it are stylish and complimentary. Parking is street parking: metered if you want to park close and free if you park a few streets down. Metered parking is 2 hours, which can be annoying when you're getting your hair done for 2+ hours. However, Nareh has offered to fill my meter while I waited with treatment in my hair. Not only is Nareh a true professional, she is also a sweet, caring, passionate, and wonderful human being I am happy to call my hair stylist. She is worth every penny!
