First of all, I've been getting my hair done at Salon Strut by Camie Ferguson for years. I'd recommend her to literally anyone and in fact, I do! I don't live in the area but I've never trusted anyone else with my hair so I often plan my trips home around my hair appointments. ;) I also frequently disappoint my friends by telling them they're have to drive about 2 hours for an appointment with her! Recently, I got married and Camie styled my hair, along with all 8 of my bridesmaids'. She brought a great and efficient team and made the morning of my big day so pleasant and relaxing. She did an amazing job with so many different lengths, thicknesses, and textures of hair, and my bridesmaids and I felt gorgeous all day! I give zero stars. I took my mother for her appointment at 12 was told in their words the stylist she was booked with didn't do "mens haircuts" I said my mom a woman wanted a trim and once again was told it was a "man's cut" and then after I told them I was offended by them referring to her short hair as a man's cut they changed it and called it a pixie cut. Instead of saying the stylist didn't specialize in short hair. I don't think hair styles have a gender and after saying I was offended they brushed me off and said I needed to find joy. Very unprofessional and never offered an apology except I'm sorry you feel that way nor did they try to accommodate my mom with a different stylist. read more

Been wanting to get my hair done the way I want it for a while, saw great reviews and decided to give Salon Strut a try since I'm on vacay and I decided to give this place a call. From the very first call I asked if it was possible to get an appointment for that day to do full highlights since, I believe it was Cam who helped me and said they didn't have any openings so I told her why I needed it done today and not tomorrow because I will be going out of state in the morning so she said she will see what she could do to help and see if anyone would be available and give me a call back. 10 minutes later she called me back and said she had good news that she found someone to do my hair. I told her thank you that sounds great and I will see you soon. Not long after I got a confirmation text from April and as I arrived it was just a beautiful ambiance and friendly people, they provide coffee and water while you wait for your appointment. As soon as April arrived she was very friendly and open I showed her a picture of how I wanted my hair done and she explained everything she will be doing to get that results. This appointment was fantastic April even had to push back a clients appointment due to all the work she had put into my hair ! I went from a previous "botched" hair coloring to the look I always wanted but didn't get until April worked wonders. I am from the Hawaiian Islands where everything it very costly and the cost for my fabulous hair was well worth it! I will definitely be making this place my "Go-To" Salon when I'm on Vacation! Honestly I came here a few months back but the experience I had was very uncomfortable for me. It seemed like the lady who was doing my hair was practicing on me. I did not ask to be a Guinea pig. I simply asked for some layers and wispy bangs. The hairdresser kept going up to another hairdresser and asking her questions on every step, I was not comfortable since I felt like my hair was not being professionally done like I expected. Maybe all the other hairdressers are great at cutting hair but my personal experience was bad. At some point the other hairdresser had to come to TEACH the other lady how to cut bangs since she's never done it before. I left looking like I had a bowl cut and you could barely notice the layers. read more

I found this salon after my last hairstylist did (worse than) a subpar job. I needed color correction (it looked like straw), the cut needed correction (call it EKG/Minecraft) and the previous hairstylist had cut SEVERAL more INCHES than we had discussed (taking it from lower back to shoulders). CAMIE TO THE RESCUE!! It was seriously divine intervention that brought me there! I am not vain, but as a lady, we generally feel our hair is a big part of us visually, when it is bad, we feel bad. Been contemplating whether or not I should write a review for a while, but after showing my disaster haircut to some people, I was convinced to write one. I haven't had a haircut in almost a year and a half (hair was pretty much down to my butt) due to work, pregnancy, and new baby, so I scoured the IG accounts of different hair stylists in the area and found one whose work was I liked. I'm very particular with how I like my hair cut, since it's thick and pretty straight. I called to make an appointment in December 2019 with this stylist and had my haircut a few days later. The hairstylist was nice and very sweet and seemed to be making sure she was being precise. I asked for long layers and a "V" shape cut in the back. It took maybe 45 min-1hr, so that's what I thought I was getting. But when she was done, my hair looked exactly the same. It was soft, yes, but looked like nothing changed. Seemed decent enough though when I left the salon. But after I took a shower and blowdried it, it really showed how poorly my hair was cut. The way she cut my hair was so bad that I had to wear it up or curl it to disguise the bluntly cut and unblended ends of my hair until I was able to get another haircut. I paid $40+$10 tip for a really bad trim. I was thinking of going back to get it fixed, but don't think it'll be any better than the first time. Never coming back to this salon again. read more

I don't understand how these people have such great reviews.I came in for a trim and light layers hoping for some body in my fine and not very long hair.The girl that did my hair barely changed anything and finished it off by lazily styling it flat on my head without even asking how I liked it styled.They charged $40 which is almost double what I ever paid for just a cut.I later contacted the owner who agreed to see me as I expressed how disappointed I was with my hair.She looked at my hair and says I need about 2" more off my length to get more body so I agreed(BIG MISTAKE!!)She goes to chop off my hair DRY not even took the time to wet it!!!And sends me out the door!!My hair looks like hell now It's all raggedy at the ends I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE!!BEWARE!!! read more

I had a 3:15 appt I got there early about 25 minutes early, not expecting to get right in , came directly from work. The stylist Tanna. ( who I had cuts from years ago at a different place, and was really glad to find her again) said you are really early , I said I came from work. She talked to me for a few minutes, said she was doing a color , I said ok I know I'm early, she then went to her client washed the color out then came to her chair a few feet from where I was sitting. Could hear them, talked about cut, layers, then says I'll dry it before I cut it. It's now 15 minutes past my appt time. And she's going to dry and cut this clients hair? Ok. After 40 minutes past my appt time ( as she is in my opinion drying this clients hair in slow motion) . I got up and left. I did call the salon and explain to the receptionist why I left. I get that sometimes you run late, i didn't want to say anything in front of the client, but I do feel Tanna could have came to me and said I'm running really late , do you want to wait or reschedule. . I was was very happy to have found her after a few years. She does a great cut. But a great cut doesn't excuse poor customer service. Will find someone else. read more

I came in as a walk-in while my mom was getting her hair done. I only wanted a trim, nothing crazy, like an inch off. I like my hair long and I'm super anal when it comes to my hair. When I asked if there were any openings for a trim, they let me know that there was only a small 30 minute opening for a wet cut - meaning that they would not be able to dry or style my hair - I was fine with that. I also asked the receptionist to let me know if there were any cancellations so I could get a full trim with dry and styling. I watched one of the girls get a cancellation and she just stood behind the counter for the two hours as I waited for the girl with the 30 minute spot. Along with all of this, SHE CUT MY HAIR CROOKED. I'm appalled that I paid for this. It was a simple trim and I don't understand how you can screw that one up, but this girl did. I think her name was Hailey. Anyways, overall the experience was below average and the result was even worse. I could've gone to SuperCuts and gotten a better trim. This place is the only place I trust . My whole family goes to April and my boyfriend goes to Breanna and we love them. April is the only person to leave me with the perfect cut every time. If you worried about trying something new I suggest her because you will not be unhappy. I also wanted to mention that she gave me a sample of the new Bumble and Bumble Surf shampoo and conditioner and it is the most incredible stuff I've ever tried. My hair is very very long and very straight. I love to curl it but it never looks good. I've been using this new B&B and I curl it, pin it up, then take it down and it looks beautiful . It lasts three days curled and I've never been able to do that. It smells fantastic (I wish they had body spray to match) and it actually leaves your hair really soft which I wasn't expecting. Betsy is truly the worst hair stylist I have ever been to and she ghosted me after not doing my hair properly. She never corrected the color and she avoids all calls and texts. I would not recommend her to anyone. She basically stole money from me and didn't finish a service that was paid for. Spare yourselves and actually go to someone who will do a good job the first time and if you aren't satisfied take the time to fix it and not just ignore you. I would give this zero stars if it were possible. My appointment was with Karley. Went in knowing exactly what I wanted, presented photos etc. Walked out very disappointed and respectfully told her I was unhappy with the end result. She said it was ok to "break even" I said no that's not ok either considering it wasn't fair. She offered to reschedule and do another bridal trail free of charge. I agreed to this and decided to pay her $135 even though I was unsatisfied with the end result with the agreement that she would schedule me for another date. Funny, when I texted later the same day she gave me the run around saying she was all booked, she didn't think to mention that when when I was swiping my card and when she was agreeing to reschedule. She did however say she will refund $70 since I liked my hair but not makeup. The agreement was to reschedule I've asked for a full refund, at this point I would want nothing more than to take my business elsewhere and be done. She ghosted me after that like they tend to do reading the other reviews on here. Save yourself the time and $$$ this isn't the kind of business that cares about keeping their clients happy. that response is a joke. If our styles are "different" as you say, she should have been honest and said she wasn't capable of doing what was asked I would have had more respect for her had she just said "I can't do that" rather than winging it and doing a CRAP job. My appointment was on a Saturday if she was all booked then she shouldn't have agreed to reschedule me and taken payment for something she wasn't going to follow through with. The right thing to do is just to give me a full refund. It's not slander it's facts. She stopped responding when I asked her to schedule me for a certain day. My review isn't to be "hateful". It's too simply let people be aware of the experience I had here. She agreed to something at the time of payment and didn't follow through that's unprofessional. At the end of the day I can just be thankful this was just a trial and not my wedding day makeup. read more
