I have been looking for a salon since we relocated down here from Northern California in June, 2019. I have a stylist up there that I went to for over 15 years! If you are looking for someone to cut and style your hair (and from what I've seen, color as well!) look no further. I am pretty specific about how my hair should look. Paul spent lots of time talking with me to see how I typically wear my hair, what, specifically I thought I wanted, and then did check-ins throughout the cut. I am SO HAPPY!!! My hair looked amazing when I left, I rode my bike for 3-1/2 hours (with a helmet on) and my hair still looked amazing afterwards. This is the sign of a superior cut. I had been looking to switch things up and try some highlights. Julia came highly recommended from multiple friends, so I called her up. She was so friendly and easy to make an appointment with (although she books up fast, so plan accordingly!) She does have an online booking system now, so makes the process super simple. She is so friendly and nice through the whole process. I was really looking for some guidance and recommendations and she really helped me through that. My highlights the first time around took about 2 hours, and came out looking great! It looked so natural, and really helped to cover up the greys (which was a prime issue I discussed with her..shh..don't tell anyone..). I didn't have to come in for a root touch up for 2 months! Which was significantly longer than when I had been doing just my natural color hair root touch ups. She did such a great job getting the highlights in all the right places! When I just went in for a touch up she picked the perfect color to make it look so natural. I went out 3 days after I had gotten it done (already re-washed and dried myself) on Saturday afternoon (see: review of Half Door Brewing), and received MULTIPLE compliments on how fabulous my hair looked. You know those culture shock, language barrier and the fact that everything's so different from Japan...you can imagine how nervous and worried I got before the appt. I recently went to Louie Main at Salon Antoine for the first time, and I was delighted with my experience! I had been with the same stylist for over 13 years (until she moved across the country) so I was a bit nervous about going to someone new. Louie was wonderful.....I brought in the formula that my previous stylist had used for my color and he was able to look at that and then work with his products to replicate a similar palette. The end result was gorgeous, and I have officially found my new stylist (hopefully for the next 13+ years, as I don't like change!). The salon is small and comfortable and all of the stylists seem to have a good rapport with each other and their clients. Kevin is my guy! I've been his client for over 3 years and he never disappoints, I know I'll always get the best treatment for all my hairstyling needs. The salon itself is always kept very neat and clean. Everyone there is very friendly and always greet me with a smile. The feeling you get walking in is as if you're walking into a European spa; the painting on the walls is beautiful and never fail to make me feel immediately relaxed and pampered. I travel quite a bit and always want to take him with me in my suitcase. But, he is 6'4 or so, he just does not fit. Most recently, I went without a haircut for two months, because I could only think of Sean, Sean, Sean!!! No one does it better!! And then there is color. No one does it better. Have you messed up your hair by getting a box from the store: he can fix it. Of course that is not me! You can stop looking for a stylist. I mean it. I echo everything Afrodita D. stated. Antoine is an artist in the true sense of the word. He takes his time and the cut is *absolutely perfect*. And don't get me started on his coloring skills. He is a master at making your hair--and you--look your very best. Everyone there is friendly, charming and does not seem in any hurry at all to 'process' the clientele. Expect to spend a lot of time here; it's never an in-and-out quickie cut. I've never made it out in less than 3 hours. Sooo worth the investment in time and money, though. I would go back more often if I had the time.
