My hairstylist asked what I was doing and what I was wearing to the event and he said the Cosmo-Tai would be best. I trusted his judgement and went for it. The hair washing portion was so relaxing. They ask if you want it washed once or twice. I said twice and I'm glad I did- the scalp massage was drool-worthy. The hairstyling was quick and efficient. It only took 30 minutes! There is a lot of product used and my stylist asked if it was okay, so there's your consent! Being in the chair, I was confused as to why there wasn't a mirror... until I was swirled around at the end and shocked by the result. Beautiful styling making my untamed, frizzy hair into a shiny, glossy look. It lasted all night and for days afterwards.

However, significant portions of the service were performed by an assistant without my consent. The appointments were also heavily overbooked--I spent over 10 hours in the salon across two visits, much of that time waiting. More concerning was the outcome. My hair has sustained significant damage, including breakage in the front where an entire layer was overprocessed and broke off, requiring me to cut bangs to cover it. The overall condition of my hair is now extremely dry, brittle, and straw-like--the worst it has been in over 25 years of coloring my hair. There were also technical issues during the service. My color was rinsed prematurely, which removed pigment and required reapplication, leading to additional unnecessary processing. My eyebrows were also affected during the service and had to be corrected afterward at my own expense. I reached out directly to try to resolve this, but was only offered a partial refund that does not reflect the extent of the damage or the corrective work now required. He damaged my hair beyond repair and now refuses to even take accountability and refund me - so that I can attempt to begin the healing journey for my hair. When I attempted to resolve this directly, my concerns were dismissed and I was offered only a minimal partial refund that did not reflect the outcome. The tone of the response did not feel professional or solution-oriented. There is no amount of money that can reverse the damage to my hair, but a full refund would be a reasonable acknowledgment of the outcome and the cost now required to correct it.

She cares and it shows in the effort she puts into her business and when you speak to her. I visit for hair cuts and to get color done and have always left feeling radiant and beautiful. I am a hard girl to please because I am so protective with my hair and have left so many salons in tears because I didn't receive what I wanted. Those days are over. As I've gotten older I've learned that "good work ain't cheap and cheap work ain't good." I apply that rule of thumb when it comes to hair and tattoo services. I break $100 + when I come here and get a cut and color done ( I have a a lot of hair) but regardless you get what you pay for and I will bust my tail and save my pennies to come here. My first visit Bekah was even kind enough to let me get my hair done with her even though my job was late depositing my money to my account and I was broke. I got there assuming my money would be there like it is every Wednesday and my Account had $5 dollars in it when I checked. Embarrassed, before she even sat me down I told her I had to leave and we had to reschedule Because I didn't get paid on time. She said it was fine and I could pay her the next day. I couldn't believe it. My money came in the next day and she charged it. That was the nicest thing ever. I will continue to do my business here with LIW and suggest you ladies looking for a new place to give Bekah a call and set up a Appointment you won't be sorry.

At first I was really happy with my hair, but as the gloss has faded it is clear that the permanent color used on my roots doesn't match my natural color. The gloss must have made everything blend at first, but now I have just a band of hair that's warmer/lighter than my natural hair around my head. It looks odd and instead of just getting my roots touched up next time I have to find a way to fix this weird variation in color. When my nail technician completed my manicure, she announced, "same!" as if she declared out-loud my powdered pearlescent nails are now magically transformed into the requested nude chrome color. I wish they would've told me upfront that this cannot be done. I would not request for anything out of the basic mani pedi here.

Kandis did my hair extensions and didn't put the beads in the bottom and it fell that night. When I told her the bottom extensions came out, she blamed it on conditioner and fired me saying I was rude when I only informed her. She went from $300 to lift to $400 and then 500. She left the wefts not glued bf she put them in. Therefore tattered and damaged ends on the weft. When I told her she asked what happened. I'm not a hair dresser and trying to find someone on a Sunday to fix my mess was what I had to do because of work. I have known her for over ten years and because I couldn't get back to her ASAP she canceled all my future appointments with no phone call but through text which is extremely disrespectful. Also I referred several people and she charged me $150 more than the people I referred. I always tip 20%. I'm so glad this happened because when she was told not to worry about it I found someone to fix my hair. She asked if I wanted to come in on Tuesday when she's known for 12 years I work 12 hour days. I had no expectations of her coming in but she offered to take then out but would not put them back in. That would've been a nightmare. This has happened a couple times now. She over charges and her work has gone so down hill. I just didn't want to deal with my work and finding someone new. I should've left when she just out of no where started upping her prices only on me. I work extremely hard and she upped her prices and lowered her standards knowing I'd pay it. I hadn't colored my hair in YEARS! I am very low maintenance and don't have the time to worry about getting my roots done every 4-6 weeks. I was interested in trying out this ombre look so made an appointment with Kandis. I brought in a few pictures of ideas and Kandis and I went over them together during my consultation. She was very knowledgeable and thorough with me explaining the different options that we could do, and what to expect from each one. I decided to just go for it and get the look all over as opposed to just around my face, but decided against the base color for the lowest maintenance option. I am in love with my results. It looks so natural! She also gave me a great haircut that styles so easily! I'm used to hairstylists cutting way more then I want them too, but she was very conservative with my length. We started with 1/2 inch, and then I told her she could take another 1/2 inch. She added some long layers through the bottom to give it more movement and volume! I bought some new products that Kandis used in my hair while I was there, and am having so much fun with them too! The Kerastase surf spray is amazing and smells soooo good! read more

I heard about the salon from a co-worker, and former hair stylist who gets her hair done there as well. I went to Kandis for my color, and she did the most perfectly blended blonde balayage I've ever had. It's so soft and natural looking, and has grown out perfectly. I'm that person who gets my hair done, secretly hates it every time and tells them how much I love it.. Kandis is the best - especially if you're a blond (natural or not)! I drive all the way down from Orange County because she's the only one I'd trust with my hair. My hair is really long - most of the way down my back. I've been getting full highlights, Brazilian blowouts and and cuts from Kandis for the last five years and I constantly get compliments on my hair. She always makes it look natural and makes sure you leave with the cut and color exactly how you wanted it. Plus her advice for keeping your hair healthy really works. Just moved to San Diego recently and am SOO happy to have found Kandis at Autumn Houston! No one before has been able to get my blonde the way I like it as well as she can without making it brassy. I have been seeing Kandis for over 5 years, and she never disappoints!! This salon is so bright and airy, it is the perfect space to get pampered and leave feeling stunning. The parking around the area is almost all free for 2 hours, but if you are feeling it, you can get a $5 valet at the hotel. Totally worth the great convenience. I saw Caroline for a full blonding and haircut. She did an AMAZING job!! One thing about me is that I am possibly the pickiest person ever when it comes to my hair color.
