Call her, she answers right away and can accommodate the busiest of schedules. She was able to take me in the same day which I appreciate greatly. Service: Super kind, sweet, down to earth. She has such a free spirit and I love her vibe. I really feel that she listens to what I want as a client, doesn't judge anything, and thus I can be honest about how I feel about my hair and styling. I did a long to medium haircut which was a significant change and cutting off more than a few inches of hair. I went for a Suki Waterhouse kind of look and I believe she pulled it off quite well! I asked for face framing layers, and curtain bangs instead of full on bangs. The after photo of me is a couple days after the cut! Wow! I just finished my first haircut with Venus and could not be happier. I found Venus on yelp after calling around different hair stylists for price quotes. I just moved to Little Italy and wanted a convenient hair stylist so I don't miss any trim appointments. Let me tell you, she is incredible! I have paid twice as much for haircuts that were not this good. I have thick, frizzy, hair with baby hair fly aways and she styled my hair so perfectly without having to use a hair straightener at all. The haircut was less than an hour and I loved how the conversation didn't feel forced. Venus is a master at cutting hair! I have long, fine, Asian hair, and Venus perfectly executed my request: to trim a couple inches of my longest layer and give me more shorter layers. Sounds simple enough, but when I made the same request to my last few stylists, the cut always came out...meh. They would barely cut my hair and a few weeks later it would be at the same long, non-layered length as it was before I got the cut. I came here based on the reviews in yelp, ended up leaving with the worst haircut in my life. I went there on Wednesday and left with very thick, no texture, no layer hair on the sides. I went back again on Thursday and left with super short, choppy hair on my crown. It's so short that bald spots could be seen on my thinning crown. She charged me $55 for the first time and free for the second time. I regret so much that I went back the 2nd time. A good hair stylist could fix the hair on the sides easily before I went back. But now, even a small trim would make the bald spots more obvious. I can only wait for the hair to grow. She is overall a nice lady. But when I showed her the hair style I wanted, she told me it's impossible because the girl on the picture I showed her "has 5 times more hair than me ". She turned me sideways both times I was there. So I couldn't face the mirror the whole time and didn't know how my hair look until she was done. I guess she does not have good eyesight so she had to adjust my chair to the setting of the lights? Lesson learned. If you need a delicate, or rather short haircut, go somewhere else. read more
