I had gone on Yelp to look for a local salon in my area. Salon Teez had such good reviews I decided to try it out. The stylist that was most often mentioned was Grace. Unfortunately she was booked for the time and day that I needed but asked if I would be willing to try Jenny who is the manager at the salon. I really wanted to get my hair done before the New Years so I said okay. The salon has a very good location. it's in the same plaza as Starbucks and is near the 60 freeway. It's clean and there were many stylists working on their clients when I got there. Jenny was on time so I did not have to wait at all. I am very picky about my hair and I immediately let her know that I was trying to grow it out. The last thing I would want is for someone to go scissor crazy on me. She totally understood and we started looking at colors. I was mainly there to get my hair dyed with a trim. When I saw the vast array of colors in the book I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted to do? I mean I liked having light hair but the maintenance gets expensive and the trips to the salon are a frequent must. So I opted for a darker hue. I also mentioned that I dislike red, coppery, orange, and rust tones. Jenny talks a lot. If you want a stylist who is quiet and doesn't say much I do not think you would enjoy having someone with this kind of personality doing your hair. Anyhow it took about 2.5 hours from beginning to end. She dried and flat ironed my hair first before cutting it. I basically kept the same style as before and she gave me a small trim to get rid of the dry ends. At first the dark red walls and lighting threw me off when I saw my color. One suggestion would be to improve the lighting at the salon or in the stations. I think you either need to go outside during the day or into a white bathroom with good lighting to really see what the color looks like. I have to admit that when she showed me my color I almost freaked out bc I saw Red hues shining off the top. But Jenny assured me that it was a deep rich brown with no red. The price was very good since I'm a Yelper. First time customers get the haircut for free. It would have cost $105 but with the hair cut thrown in my total was $70. The other down part is that they do not take credit card or checks. They do have an ATM located inside the salon but it charges you a fee of $1.99 to use it. I am writing this review because this morning I saw my hair in broad daylight and I really liked it. I posted a picture in the photos section to show how evenly the color is distributed. Overall felt like I got a great price and more importantly left with great hair. The one star knock down is due to the lighting and having to pay only in cash. Thanks! read more

Grace is the best at what she does: making you look out of this world fabulous. I've known her for about 15 years now and she has def been irreplaceable in the beauty industry ! Put it this way, when we were wasting away our high school afternoons, she was at beauty school, already on the cusp of something big. Oftentimes that I just stop by for a quick visit or when I'm excitedly doing something new to my tresses, her team is toiling away, making each client feel/look like a million bucks. Tara did a great job on my highlights I followed her here from her other salon. She is having a 20% off Brazilian blowouts in June, so I decided to get one, my hair feels so soft. I had hoped this place would be my new permanent salon since my long time stylist moved to another state and this place was close by. However...the DISHONESTY here leaves me to continue in my search for a great stylist and a great salon. I thought this may be the start of a new salon friendship, until..I learned that the stylist I had here charged me more than what I was suppose to pay. Not cool! I had a haircut and highlights done w/Jenny, who's also the manager. She charged me $160 ($40 for the haircut and $120 for the highlights). Since she was the manager, I trusted she charged me w/the correct prices especially since it was my first time. (I paid Jenny a total of $200 in cash and told her to keep the change. Yes, a $40 tip! How foolish of me!) At least now, I (along w/my friends) know how UNTRUSTWORTHY this salon and its employees can be. What a shame! How can a business lose a generous tipper? A coworker friend of mine informed me that I was overcharged. Say whaat? She called the salon to inquire about their hair services and the prices she was given over the phone differed from what I was charged. Also according to their Yelp page, the haircut was suppose to be free w/any color service. (Yay! But wait there's more.) I immediately contacted Jenny to ask her about these price discrepancies. Jenny did NOT explain the different prices. Nobody did. But she did offer me a free haircut for next time. Hmm...I don't think so. After finding out she charged me more than what I should have paid, I was really hesitant to come back since I questioned the integrity of the stylist and this salon as a whole. Instead, I told her that I'd like a $40 refund for the haircut that was suppose to be free. (She charged me $40 for a haircut that's normally $35, so $40 refund please.) She AGREED and said to print and bring the yelp page that states the free haircut offer. However, *gasp* the statement about a free haircut w/color service "strangely disappeared" on Salon Teez's yelp page. I was still at work so I asked my BF to go to the salon for me to get my $40 refund. Jenny refused to return the money and said that she needed the print-out. My BF suggested we could print out their yelp page, BUT..that statement they're looking for is NOT there. She said no. So, Jenny (the manager) as well as Grace (the owner) were both there looking at Salon Teez's yelp page and were ALSO unsuccessful at locating this undetectable discount statement. It's funny because it's their salon's yelp page and the owner was present. On and on, they kept insisting on getting this print-out from their yelp page with this statement (they CAN'T locate) in order to return this $40 overage. Um, it's an overage plus she got a $40 tip. If anyone was to resolve this matter and refund my $40, it would either be the owner (Grace) or the manager (Jenny)--especially since the manager here was the one who did my hair. Surprisingly, Grace secretly left the premises of her own business using the back door, whereas Jenny left through the front door. Neither person resolving the issue nor returning the money we were owed. (Hmm, guilty? Maybe. Shady? Most definitely.) They left my BF to talk w/the 2 stylists who were there w/their own customers to handle this matter. I ended up meeting w/my BF at the salon. Both stylists said they couldn't do anything to resolve our situation as Grace or Jenny would be the only ones to handle this refund. (Ya, we know, lol.) At this point, they locked the doors saying they were closed at 6 pm. Though Grace told my BF they were closed at 8 pm. In fact, yelp shows they're opened until 8 pm. (Hmm??) Anyway, it went on too long and we felt they were giving us the run-around for this $40. Seriously? $40? Even 1 of the stylists there said that she could give us the money for her boss (Jenny) and have her boss pay her back, but that Jenny would better learn her lesson to not overcharge again since she herself would be refunding the money to us. Plus Jenny might rely on her employees to help correct her mistakes if we allowed this employee to pay us. We understood and even felt bad they were left to discuss and try to handle our predicament. Finally...As we were outside the salon, Jenny's BF arrives. He said he didn't know what was going on, opened his wallet, handed us $40 dollars and left. (Alrighty then.) I'm glad someone resolved it. Even if it's a non-employee..lol. See, it's really simple. Hence, "honesty is the best policy." Overall, after all the deception that occurred here, I definitely CANNOT and WILL NOT recommend this salon for any services they provide. As a customer/client, good customer service and HONEST companies are my top requirements for earning my loyalty and my business (money). Definitely will NOT return. P.S. Apparently when you DON'T give a rating they approve of, they'll comment/reply to your review with MORE LIES to try to cover up their PREVIOUS LIES! Wow!! Salon Teez is seriously BAD NEWS! read more

well...I actually got my hair done at this place 6 months ago. I did not go back again to this place because the following reasons. 1. Grace is really hard to book. First time I really wanted to get my hair done with Grace but she canceled on me the day before. So I scheduled with another stylist supposed to be really good 2. The salon is not upldated. Maybe I always went to the higher end salon chain. This place reminded me one of those nail salons. I actually went in and then got out to make sure I was at the right place 3. The stylist who did my hair was nice and she did a good job. However, I was supposed to get a free cut with my color according to Yelp. In addition, she only trimmed my hair shorter with the same style i already had. When I was paying, she charged $130 for the hair cut and the highlight. When I asked her if I received my free hair cut, she told me yes but she did not break it down for me (highlight is $75 and hair cut supposed to be $35 so if I receive the free hair cut, I am supposed to pay no more than $100). I also got my eye brow done with her (additional $15). +tips. The work was not bad but it was not excellent. The most important thing is I do not feel she was honest. (which is a big no no to me) If you live closed by and just want an above average hair do, you can go to this place. It is not expensive but you get what you pay for. I am extremly picky with my hair and the integrity of the individual. So I rather drive a bit more to go to another place to feel pretty and happy. read more

Date: March or April 2011 I called and made an appointment with Roseanne since she's the only one available at that time. So I went, i waited for about 30 mins. I told her what I wanted and even show her the picture. I wanted to cut my hair really short and it was between Meg Ryan's and Sharon stone's hair style, I want the back part where its short and clean. Roseanne thinks that it won't look good on me( because I'm not skinny), but I insisted because I want it and I used to have a very short hair and it looks good on me even now that I'm a little sexier ahahha! (chubby)... So I can feel that she can't get the cut that I was really hoping for, then this Jenny lady from the other cubicle, said " she's been more than an hour with you" REALLY?! isn't the stylist responsibility to make sure that you give what your client asked you for, since we're paying you?! aaaaaaaargggh! Then after, I just tried to smile and Roseanne saw it too that I look good with short hair. I give credit in a way to Roseanne because, she was patient and sweet even though she can't really get the job done the way I wanted it, To Jenny, please do not talk to customer the way that you approached me, because it's really rude. I'm very picky with my hair, anyway who doesn't right?! Because our hair is one of the major part of our head that gives meaning to our faces :) if you get a great hair cut you will look beautiful even if you're not. but if you're pretty and got a bad hair cut, you will look like you have lots of issues ahhaha! My first time here wasn't a very good experience and the owner, Grace, wanted to make up for it. She was really sweet about getting me another appointment and getting my hair fixed. My appointment was with Jessica and it was a great experience. She was gentle, did what she thought was best when I told her what I wanted in my cut/color, used something extra to try to get the color to stick a little better, and her conversational level was perfect (she just went with as much as you wanted to talk). Long story short, I sat in that chair for 3 hours while Jessica worked her magic. I had to go to work right after and almost every single one of my co-workers complimented my hair. My boss couldn't even get over how much he loved my hair (I went from long, black hair to short, red hair). Salon Teez seems like the type of place that people go to and end up staying loyal to for a long, long time. While I was there, all of the other clients getting their hair done seemed like regulars. Also, I was there from 9am-12pm and every stylist was busy. At most of the salons I've been to, many of the stylists are sitting around and there are only a few people receiving services. Just the fact that this place was so busy made me feel comfortable and like every stylist in there knew what they were doing (also not the case at many salons). I had Michelle as my stylist and she did a fabulous job on my cut and color. It was exactly what I was looking for and even my husband was pleased. I recently also had the Brazilian Blowout process done and I have to say, this is fantastic. Instead of 45 minutes to get my hair straight (with the chance of frizz setting in t/o the day), it's now only a 15 minute process for it be perfectly straight...Fantastic, in my book. I was referred to Grace by a friend in July 2016. Grace is beyond amazing. I came in with a medium brown/ caramel ombré and showed her a picture of a blonde ombré. Grace explained the process to me from start to end. I also told Grace that I didn't want to damage my hair with the bleach and she told me about hair products that can help keep my hair healthy and also explained that she would bleach my hair to a certain point where it wouldn't cause damage.
