I'd had a few bleach treatments in the 3-5…read moreyears prior, and my hair has tolerated it remarkably well, remaining healthy and strong and shiny, probably because I never heat treat it. I came in for my first hair treatment since covid, so I was ~emotional and excited for a refresh. I forget the name of my stylist but ...... wow. 1- We were lightening for a balayage and despite using bleach my tips came out darker, still warm-toned (I'm undeniably cool-toned and made sure to bring it up). Also my whole head was about one (warm) color... it didn't reflect our discussion at all, and my balayage gave harsh grow out lines 2- Despite the low level of lightening, and my hair being very receptive to bleach, the treatment she applied absolutely fried my hair. It's been over two years since I had this done and I've heat styled it 0 times and dyed it 0 times, and even after cutting it much shorter the bottom 8" completely remain utterly fried. 2 years later I'm accepting that I'll probably have to cut it chin length to stop the absolutely dead hair from splitting further. Even with Olaplex, it's so outrageously tangled, split (I've had hairs with 4+ splits in them ... WTH), and dead that there's no saving it. I've never experienced anything like it.. it's just *dead*. I've only had my hair lightened in a salon because I'm so worried about this happening, and it's hilarious that the most ineffective bleach treatment I've ever had somehow was the one bleach treatment to ruin my hair. I'm about resigned to hacking it to a short bob and starting over. Oh - they also charged me extra on top of the Groupon because my hair was below my shoulders, even though it's extremely fine. Long story short, my Groupon here actually ruined my gorgeous hair, and I think it'll be about 5 years to get it back. Approaching the midpoint I think it's time to leave a review. :( Tl;dr my self-care appointment to rehab long boring hair gave me 5 years of bad hair.

Bummer, she was sick yesterday, but I got to see Kate in a pinch! Either way, if you've known me long enough, I spend much more on hair than the average adult male. So I'm pretty particular and will not go back to a place that isn't doing what's trending and also doing a quality job. In Texas, I was fortunate enough to have the BEST lady for years and years, and have since been riding the struggle bus in Washington. **side note... wtf WA guys??? It's like a hip place for a men's haircut simply is not a thing here. Back to The Vault, they are (as the kids say) all slap and no cap . I'm legit ALWAYS the only guy in the whole place when I go. I still don't get that about the PNW, but whatever. If you are a guy and want a haircut that may or may not be decent scissor and clipper work, and is also not a style made popular within the past decade... then maybe this isn't for you. However, if you want something trendy and well done, and you are willing to spend a little dough to get it... go see literally anyone at The Vault. /JD out.

I wanted natural blending in with my undyed hair with low upkeep. I have natural red toward the ends of my hair and I asked if maybe she could match that so it would blend in, subtle. Renee understood the assignment and added dimension to my hair! She gave me a beautiful haircut with layers and a color that blends in with my natural hair. After not getting a haircut for almost 2 years, I felt so pampered and beautiful leaving the salon. I highly recommend Renee and I'll be back :)

Everyone loved it! First the bride to be is amazing! She told us do our hair however we'd like! I went for a half up half down look, we ranged with full down with curls, some with braids, a sideswept with full curls, and a full updo. My hairdstylist asked me all the right questions - I told her the bigger the better and she poofed it up really high, kind of looked at me with the smile and said like this? I'm like a little too high, she replied in agreement. All of the stylists were very friendly, outgoing and joined in our conversations like they were one of our good friends! The bride had the place reserved so we were the only ones in the place which of course made you feel like VIP! One of the bridesmaids actually came to the conclusion that her hair would look better if her bangs were cut, done. No problem! I really appreciated the creativity of the women here! I thought oh yeah just pin the back up...um no she added a celtic-ish knot to cover the bobby pins! The other girls all loved their hair. One of the stylists even came right before the wedding to do any touch ups if needed because our appointments were between 8-noon and wedding wasn't till late afternoon. We were able to set up a smaller room towards the back for our make up lady to come in and do her magic! we also had drinks and breakfast fruits and snacks in that room for us. The bathroom toward the back was very clean! This place is clean, trendy, friendly and does a fantatstic job what more can you ask for? My stylist genuinely listened to what I wanted, which I really appreciated. I do have blonde hair that tends to turn brassy very quickly, and unfortunately that happened again after my visit, which was a bit disappointing. I also felt like a lot of product was used in my hair, which came across a little like a push to purchase more products -- that was really my only negative. That said, my haircut was absolutely perfect, the prices are reasonable, and I would definitely go back. I'm confident that with a bit more conversation next time, we can get the color just right too. Overall, I'd recommend giving them a try!
