I had tried many salons in the area…read more I stumbled upon James at this Salon I arranged to come in and meet with him. He was so cordial and professional on the phone. I decided to return today to Villa Di Roma after many years. The original owner ,an Elvis enthusiast , is not there anymore but still owns it. The owner being an Elvis impersonator ,really drew me to the salon over the years. James however , is a terrific stylist, cutter and professional hair professional. There are two other girls in the Salon that do a terrific job as well as that I could clearly see from the haircut styles / cuts that were done when I was there . I had my hair styled and trimmed and it looks beautiful. I will return in a few weeks for color. Note: I had some split ends and James noticed this immediately and he recommended that I have them cut off. I thought that I was allergic to a hair dying product that another salon told me that I was allergic to. My hair had turned orange on top and I got little pimples on my scalp. I explained to James that I may be allergic to a Hair dying product used at a salon I visited a few weeks ago. James immediately tested me and I found out I am not allergic to the hair dye(s) used in their salon. I will return to the salon in a few weeks and I will decide on the color . I will of course consult with James first as to his thoughts on what the best color would be for my skin tone and overall looks. He advised me NOT to do highlights since I have very thin and brittle hair, He advised me that once the highlights grow out, , a gray tone will appear on my roots and near my scalp. He advised me that I will then frequently need a touchup of the roots, which is very costly and is not good for the hair. he advised me instead to do a base color that would fit my skin tone and looks. James has owned and worked in many salons in the Westchester County area and in the Queens area as well. He is highly professional experienced and very pleasant. They gave her one price(135$) for the service and it turned out to be $65 dollars more. i Never heard of a salon that asks you for a $50 deposit before your appointment. Then charges for the service plus the use of the product depending on how long your hair is. ( my daughter'a hair is just below the shoulders)she decided not to do the blow dry because it was an extra $50. Ended up paying $195 for partial highlights and went home with wet hair. The salon was spotlessly clean, and super cute. Gina was very easy to talk with which made the 2 hour appointment fly by. I'm so happy with the results! The color came out exactly the way I was hoping for, and Gina was able to give me the long layers I asked for while still keeping my length. I'll definitely return next time I need a cut & highlight!
