Stylist (Christie) chopped my hair to the point it will take at the very least, a year to grow enough to try to start to correct. I went to another salon to try to have it fixed and was told they strongly suggested I wait for at least 6 months before even having a slight trim, that is how horrible this haircut is. There are pieces that are cut 1" and then 5", no blending, just chopping. This haircut is absolutely horrible and worse that anyone could imagine. I have had people tell me over the past few days that my hair is very uneven, and I look like I am missing chunks of hair (thanks to this stylist/salon). Go elsewhere, trust me read more

Glenn is an absolute hair artist extraordinaire! He always knowns exactly what kind of vision I have in mind for my look and his execution is flawless. Not to mention he is the perfect mix of professional and fun! We've tried lots of different styles, cuts, etc. and he never fails to amaze me. Jen is also incredible with updos and formal styles. I've gone here to get my hair done for more formal events than I can remember and Jen has made me look stunning every time! Her creativity and attention to detail is impeccable. Front desk and scheduling is smoothly run and very friendly. The whole place is sparkling clean. Prices are incredibly reasonable and quality of service is top notch. This is my favorite salon. It is done in cool gray tones with a touch of sparkle from the chandelier that hangs in the lobby. The receptionist is always kind and friendly. The owner has the first chair. He too, is very nice and always says hello. Jaime Horvat is the stylist that I see. She is a magician/miracle worker. She takes my heavy thick hair and makes it bouncy and light as a feather. She covers the gray that fights it's way through the color. When I first started getting my hair done there it was black. I loved how it played against my pale skin. Then I started getting a little color to my skin so I started going lighter. Currently I rocking the blonde with some lowlights. All of the girls from Salon Vivace did such an amazing job for my wedding/bridal party. They took the time to make sure everyone's hair and make-up looked perfect. They were quick, organized and very efficient. Lauren took even extra time on my make-up because of some difficulty with my eye shadow and never once complained or seemed bothered. They all had such great personalities which really helped calm me when I was stressed. I would definitely recommend Salon Vivace for any event especially your wedding! My skin looks and feels great and she knew exactly what my skin needed. Their product line is wonderful and mostly all-natural which was a relief as I am pregnant. I've tried both the spa services (massage) and hair salon and both times I was quite pleased. My friend won a complimentary hair cut and highlights. Since she is both happy with her current place and is far away, kindly gave me her gift card. I saw Glen, who I believe is the owner and his assistant. Everyone was very kind and I walked out quite happy with the result. He carefully listened to what kind of cut and style I wanted and gave me just that. There was the ever annoying attempt to up-sell me on hair care products that most salons do but it wasn't too bad. Unfortunately, I can't speak on price for the hair style as my gift card covered all but tip. My guess is that Glen's services are more then my current budget, but due to 2 pleasant experiences, I will go back again and try a junior stylist. Parking is conveniently located across the street at the parking garage and they do validate. Prices seem to be on the high end for Pittsburgh but I suppose you get what you pay for! worst experience ever! i had the appointment booked about 2 months in advance with lizzie because i had a wedding to attend. it was my first time seeing her and i was told she was the best. it was noted that my hair was long and would take some time. the color is awful!!!! nothing but brassy and orange and white streaks all over (not ONE BIT like the photo i showed and was assured would work)!!!!!! she also ran out of time and told me i could "ask someone else in the salon" to dry the rest of my hair for me as she only dried the front. she also said that her friend had an appointment after me. i could have bought drugstore boxed dye and ended up with better results. i am highly dissatisfied and will NEVER BE RETURNING! i now have to find time and pay someone else to fix something that was never even offered to be fixed by this salon. the "profile" picture I used for this site is of what my hair looked like when I got home from my appointment. read more
