This is the absolute worst haircut and color of my life. I can't even look at my hair in the mirror anymore without feeling sad. 1) I said to cut off no more than 1 inch. He cut off at least 3 inches. 2) I asked for partial balayage. I received streaky, tinsel-y highlights. Looks almost like foil highlights. Not at all like painted, flowing highlights characteristic of balayage. 3) I did not ask for the "money piece" highlights at the front. He did it because he assumed I would want it "because most people like it." 4) He was about to cut curtain bangs. I caught him before he started and corrected him that I had asked for face framing layers, not bangs! 5) I still have a chunk of bleached, untoned hair. Then at the end of the appointment, Vo insisted I didn't communicate well. I showed him multiple balayage pictures in addition to having the pre-haircut discussion. In fact, he was rushing the whole appointment and multitasking with another client. Now I'm left with ruined hair and lost $285. This guy did not listen to me at all. Watch out. read more

Mai is amazing at giving you exactly what a picture shows! I made a pretty drastic cut to my hair after having it long for years and years and not only did she give it volume but she gave me the length I wanted. Some salons go shorter than you ask for but Mai didn't. She also fixed my bangs and made them so much more stylish and appropriate for my face shape than how I had been cutting them and to add to that she showed me how to correctly trim them at home. I left with the cutest cute I've ever had and with amazing smelling hair I can tie my hair up, put it behind my ears or just let it rest against my cheeks and with the previous length I had I looked so silly trying any of those styles. Still have yet to receive any resolution for the horrible service I got done from Salon Vo. I spent $300 on the most horrendous hair-coloring job I've ever received. Really frustrating when I have reached out so many times to get some sort of resolution, only to be told "we don't do that." It's so obvious the hair color wasn't even close to what I wanted and to be overcharged for ruining the my hair was the wrong thing to do by Salon Vo. Thanh did an amazing job on my hair! I was really nervous at first going to a brand new stylist in Denver (used to live in Houston) but Thanh took great care of me! He took the time to go over my Pinterest balayage pictures including previous hair colors that I had and we went over a number of scenarios on the color, style, type of hair cut and style. He also took the time to explain the process to me as we were doing it! He is extremely understanding and wants you to let him Know if you want to go lighter or darker. With most things it is important to be specific on exactly what you want, if we do it with eyebrows then hair should not be any different in my opinion. If you see the end product is not what you like, then say you want it to be darker, shorter, lighter, whatever your preference is because it's really OK to say you want something different. Since my hair was originally darker (dark brown/black) to start with I wanted to go with a lighter base and do balayage. It turned out so amazing! He definitely took the time to blow out and style my hair including curling it when we were all done! Pricing at this salon is extremely reasonable!! In my opinion especially doing balayage I was not overcharged. I strongly recommend going to Salon Vo! I will definitely be back. I'm really happy on how my hair turned out! read more

I drove all the way from Memphis, TN to go to Salon Vo in Denver as no one in my area knows how to work with my half asian hair. The owner, Vo himself did my hair, and I could not have asked for a better experience or result. I asked for a full balayage and wanted a very cool tone ash/almost silver/lavender color. He was able to take my grown out, dark hair to the most beautiful, light, silver, ashy color in just one session with no damage. He also gave me the most flattering haircut and took the time to show me how to properly style my hair after. It is very apparent that he is extremely experienced and a master of his craft. He used so many little techniques I'd never seen any of the hairdressers back home do. Prior to this I had a terrible experience at a supposedly good hairdresser back home where I requested the same cool toned result. Instead I received bright yellow, brassy, fried hair with zero blending, choppy color, and an uneven haircut after multiple sessions and over $700 dollars. Vo restored all my faith in the hair industry for half the price and ten times the skill. He is a true artist and I will be driving the 17 hrs to Denver every time I need my hair done because the result was worth every penny. read more

I wish I would have read the negative reviews before hand. I spent $400 bucks for my hair to be 3 different colors. I ASKED FOR A BALAYAGE. I went back for him to fix it and left with it even worse and was asked to blow dry my own hair!! So I left the salon with wet hair that's falling off from being damaged and horrific color. Worst experience ever. Stylist was late, showed up wearing a torn shirt and had to borrow equipment (scissors) from another stylist, then butchered my hair cutting it several inches shorter than discussed, and burned my cheek with the curling iron. It was traumatizing, the cut is uneven and will take months to grow out! Awful! And the owner was there during this and did not say a thing even though I'd spoken to him when I first arrived and told the stylist to cut my hair into a long layered Bob as the owner said. I ended up with a cut that does not even go chin length, is jagged and uneven, and is at the nape of my neckline and shaved there even. It is horrible. read more

I wanted to badly to like my hair color from this salon. But, while my stylist was really very nice and fast, the end result is less than impressive. I booked and asked for balayage highlights with roots that are as close to my natural color as possible, while covering the gray. I noticed immediately that she was just giving me all over highlights but there wasn't much I could do once she was a quarter of the way through my head. I'm really laid back about my hair so I decided to just go with it. Seemed like a decent salon so even if it wasn't what I'd asked for, it would probably still look fine. The final result was a root color that is lighter than my natural color and lighter than the color that had been placed previously, so I ended up with "hot roots". She also didn't take into account the very clear fact that I had some new growth and some previously colored hair. The result is what amounts to tiger stripes all throughout my hair. She didn't bother to tone it either, so it's incredibly brassy and yellow. And on top of that her technique is a very blunt highlight, no blending at all. So there are blunt stops and starts to the color all throughout my hair. Not to mention the style was nothing like what I showed her... she asked my hair like a soccer mom. Just blow dried out churned under and said I was done. The stylist was truly so nice I felt too guilty to speak up... so I complimented her work, left a decent tip and did not book a future appointment. I would have expected this from a hair student and would have paid $50 for it... but I ended up paying $300 for this. I'm extremely disappointed. I think I'm just going to have to fix this at home because it doesn't arise that the salon has a good reputation for owning their mistakes and fixing them. ‍ read more

PAY ATTENTION TO THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS. Came in for a bleach and tone, based on positive reviews. My initial service was fine, but when I got home and saw the color in the light it was super patchy. Hot roots, and half of my hair gold, when we were going for a silvery white. I realize mistakes happen, so booked a correction for a few days later. These things happen. Came in on a Wednesday and waited nearly an hour past my appointment time for a color "correction". This correction didn't do much, other than leaving my hair fried from bleach and still uneven. I asked for my money back for the color service only, only to be met with a 'we don't offer refunds', and a suggestion I come back a *third* time to get it 'corrected' with the owner of the salon. I declined, feeling that I already missed work for a correction that didn't do much, and out of concern that my hair would be even more damaged. Opted to go in with a credit card dispute on it. Heads up- on my 'correction' appointment where the stylist was running an hour late (an hour I missed at work btw)- the girl next to me was also coming in for a correction off the color provided to her by the salon owner. There seems to be an issue here with poor coloring services. I spent probably 6 hours here to get a substandard color job, and now have to pay to get it corrected elsewhere. My hair is a frizzy, burnt mess, and I have an uneven product. I paid nearly 300 dollars for this service. If a salon has to advertise themselves as "the best salon in Denver"...they probably aren't. I think the girl who did my hair could have done a decent job and she was super sweet, but they are overbooked and understaffed- resulting in poor services. Edit in response to the owner: I provided a picture to the stylist as to what I wanted. There was no miscommunication. I have texts from her admitting there was a mistake both times on her part. I went to another salon this weekend to get this corrected to be all one color. The stylist there said my hair is close to breaking. That violet section up near my crown feels gummy even after two olaplex treatments There's no defending the poor work on this or the damage to my hair. I suspect the stylist brought me outside for pictures after this to hide the uneven color. Please don't put it on me for "not communicating" with the stylist or for changing my mind. I even have texts from you stating that you could achieve what I wanted if I came in for a third correction. You can make this right by refunding my money. read more

Really excited to have found Salon Vo (again!). Years ago, my mom and I had both been going to stylist Thanh Vo for our hair cuts/color when he had a salon in North Cherry Creek area. I lost touch with him when he moved locations (and I also moved to San Diego for a few years). It had been a year since my husband cut my hair with some kitchen scissors around the start of the pandemic (we jumped on the bandwagon with that trend!). So it was time to make an appointment for a real cut and color (May 2021). My thick hair was in need of professional help to thin it out and add some color. As an Asian American (with dark brown hair), it's often difficult to get the light color and texture we see in other people's photos. I've always heard from colorists that my hair is too dark. With Thanh, he was happy to help set me up with balayage and get my hair to a pretty light brown/blonde color. My visit took about 3 hours with an initial 30 minute haircut because I have a LOT of hair. Everyone wore masks and I enjoyed bonding with the staff at all touchpoints (entry/welcome, getting me water, helping Thanh put in the foil/coloring, washing my hair, and even the check out). The staff offered to help take pictures for me outside of the salon that I would be able to share with my husband (and on my IG! haha). One thing to note is that when you are making a reserveration using their online service (Schedulista), you can see the estimated time and price/rate for each service. It was really helpful to have an idea of cost going into the appointment. I did not have cash but was able to pay for the visit with a credit card, and Venmo over tip. Visited Salon Vo back in November, after 9 months without a cut due to Covid and after 2.75 years in Colorado without a cut I was happy with. The reason I chose Salon Vo was that the photographs of previous Salon Vo patrons looked real, unlike many other salons that just pretend great cuts are theirs. Asked Thanh, the owner, for a recommendation. His cut was really simple yet creative at the same time. It gave my hair the volume I was looking for with still an overall straight style. I loved it! As Covid got worse again and I feared going out too much, the style remained relevant for several months (though I would have preferred more regular updates). Have a new appointment coming up after full vaccine for partial highlights and cut. CanNOT wait! Thanh is a true genius. I recently had my hair cut and colored by Vo. While the cut turned out well, the highlights were terrible. While I sat with color in my hair for what was supposed to be 30 minutes and ended up being closer to 50 minutes, he worked with two other clients. He apologized but the damage was done. I have dark hair and the highlights are coppery and brassy. They are chunky and don't look natural. I emailed the salon 5 days afterwards and requested a touch-up and never heard back from anyone. I called and also left a message but never heard back. I am very disappointed in the lack of customer service when I paid $265 for a service that should be provided. read more

Hands down, the best haircut I've ever gotten. My asian textured hair is tricky to cut and I have had a hard time finding a good stylist.
