Thanh completely saved my hair from a terrible haircut I got at a different salon. I have very straight thick Asian hair and if you do not know how to cut it, the layers will end up extremely choppy. Thankfully I was able to get an appointment with Thanh two days later and he spent so much time making sure all of the layers were nice and blended. The salon itself is a little bit off the beaten path in Cherry Creek in a retail space below a high-rise business building. I showed Thanh several pictures of the variations of the cut I was looking for during the consult and he advised on what would work best for me but still in the same vain of what I was showing. I walked out of there super happy with my fresh hairstyle that felt light, stylish, and modern and gave me an extra pep in my step that I'd been totally lacking for months. I wish I would have read the negative reviews. I went here for a haircut and am pretty disappointed with the entire experience, but I'll break it down to three parts. 1. When I walked in, everyone just stared at me. It wasn't until I greeted them that they acknowledged me. Vo asked me what I wanted, and I told him that I needed a trim, that he's the professional and I trust his professional opinion. HOWEVER, I told him there is only one thing that I do NOT want, which was the completely buzzed look on the sides of my head. That I like a bit of a blend in. He said he understood me completely. Literally the first thing he does is completely buzz the sides of my head all the way to my part line. The one thing I told him I didn't want. 2. Admittedly, this is no criticism of Vo, but when he washed my hair, his employee was coloring someone else's hair. As she was doing it, she asked Vo some very important questions. Questions that clearly should have been asked BEFORE she started coloring her client's hair. His responses indicated that she had done the incorrect procedure, which was shocking to me, especially since this was in front of the client. The employee laughed a bit and said, "Well, I guess we'll see how it turns out." I was horrified for the woman getting her hair colored. 3. On their website, it states men's haircut is $40+, then you select the stylist. Each stylist has a number next to his/her name to see if the haircut increases beyond $40. Vo's had +$0.00 next to it. I have as basic and standard of a men's haircut as you can get, yet when I went to the register, I was told it was $50. Despite how bad my hair looked, I still tipped Vo. 2 stars instead of 1 because everyone was nice and I believe Vo was trying, but frankly, it was not a good experience. read more

I was like ok no big deal my hair looks good. I was excited to come because of all the great reviews but when I go there and sat in the chair to explain what i wanted the guy cut me off and told me what I needed and I never got to finish. When he got around to cutting my hair he had me stand for him to cut it; which is very odd. I asked for a face frame and one side is about 3 inches shortest than the other with a very blunt blending. I had a wonderful first time experience here. my hair was previously colored with red and Thanh was as able to lighten it. Not every first time is a success but he is there to make sure you're comfortable with the color you walk out with. I called a day ahead and wasn't expecting to get in until a week or two later. I have had two cut/color appointments with him and both times I have been very pleased with how my hair turned out as well as with the compliments I've received. Came in and ask for a rose gold balayage with my black hair and they successfully get it to that color. I waited 3 days to wash my hair and with 2 wash the pink or any remaining color is gone and all I'm left with is bleached blonde hair. Went in for a simple trim and bang cut. When I first entered the stylist was not very welcoming and immediately started inspecting my hair . I felt super uncomfortable as I didn't feel welcomed. While getting shampooed and blow dryer I felt like they were super aggressive with my hair. I didn't see heat protectant and it felt like my hair was being damaged by how aggressive the blow dry was. The stylist then brought out his camera and asked if it was okay for pictures as he was taking pictures and videoing my hair . I felt uncomfortable as they didn't try to talk to me and I just felt like a specimen for the video. I asked for bangs and the stylist did not give me the cut I wanted and told me I could just put it to the side instead of cutting them. This haircut was $95!!!!! Typically a haircut like this would include styling but they did not style my hair and I felt uncomfortable the entire time . I've gotten way better service and quality of haircuts at different locations for way cheaper . read more

3 NON-HAIRS. The first time I walked into Salon Vo, the stylist asked if I had extensions because my not-naturally blonde hair was long and think and super healthy. I was stopped by strangers to compliment my hair. Fast forward 3 visits with Meryl for coloring, my hair literally fell off in chunks. Chunks! Overlapping bleach on colored hair. The last visit, there was hair all over the floor. So much had broken off that I had to have it all cut short. 8 years of growing my hair was negated in 3 months. Great job! They were able to get me in in a reasonable time frame, and I had a beautiful balayage done. Vo is very knowledgeable and easy to work with, and he understood exactly what I was asking for. The coloring had a slight issue afterwards reacting with the old balayage coloring I had, but he instructed me to wash it several times and let him know if it did not resolve, but it resolved exactly as he stated and it looks now exactly as I had hoped. I am not a fan of this place period. Whatever you book online as a service and agreed to price will be changed when you check out. I stopped going here about 6 months ago as my color and cuts would fluctuate from $125 -$150 and they were not that great. Management appears strained amongst the stylist and I was tired of hearing about the complaints. My mother is 81 and barely has any hair and Than charges her $65 as she didn't need a hair cut. Her haircut is worth $10 at best! I think he takes advantage of older customers. My mother will not be back , nor myself, nor my daughter. Do not get the keratin treatment here. I got it done and after a day and a half I noticed my hair start to frizz and curl again. Was stuck at back to back 12hr shifts so didn't have time to come in right away and had to straighten my hair for a few days. Which is frustrating bc I got this treatment to avoid heat on my hair for a while. Anyways came back and told them the issue. Thankfully they redid it free of charge which I really appreciate. But as I'm getting it redone he says "I actually don't have a lot of faith in the keratin treatment. Next time you should do the Brazilian blow out." Ok then why offer the keratin treatment!? Have to put my hair through chemical damage twice just for him to say it most likely won't even work. I'm beyond frustrated read more

Overpriced for the mediocre shampoo, hair and style. Usually hairdressers do a little bit of massage for the scalp while they shampoo but I guess that can't be expected from someone who's only been working there for 3 weeks. As for the haircut, it was cut more shorter then what was initially said, I also asked for bangs/fringe that would shape my face nicely but I'm not happy with it, could have at least styled it for me since I am paying for it. Maybe I should have brought a picture for reference ‍. I also had to wait when I had an appointment that I was on time for, if they were working on another customer, I would have understood but they weren't.
