Sal's is a high-quality butcher serving the Massapequa community with the best cut of meats! Thanks to Sal's my friends & family call me Mikey "veal cutlets"!! I love veal parmsean & Sal's makes it the best!!

    The Sal's Delight

My boss brought these sandwiches in for a special treat. I have to say their sandwich menu is quite creative with many delicious options. After quite some time I settled on the Sal's Delight sandwich. I did not regret that! I only ate half for lunch, as you can see it came absolutely stuffed! The flavor was great. The meats tasted fresh. And all of the veggies were crisp and flavorful. I definitely will be going there to try more!

Probably won't be going back there anymore .. the food is high quality but the prices with what they give you is insane. I got two sandwiches on a roll ham and cheese and then turkey avocado cheese cost me $23 bucks which is crazy . I understand covid ran prices up and taxes are higher to make a business but ur gauging ur customers . As he was making it Isaid on a roll , they told me it's the new rolls they have there squared... the sandwich was literally the size of my fist. This picture is half the sandwich, what a shame. Won't be going back anymore

Wow - roast beef with fresh mozz on garlic bread horseradish sauce on the side

Came for a sandwich and Sal's has a pretty long list of options. Went for the "wow" sandwich: Roast beef, fresh mozz, horseradish sauce on garlic bread. Asked for the sauce on the side because I find sometimes that horseradish can be overpowering. They give you a lot of sauce on the side btw! On a Saturday early afternoon the wait to be helped was long... a little too long. So next time I would probably call an order in and then come pick it up. They make their own bread which is nice and it's pretty good. I got my sandwich hot and sadly I wish I didn't because it was slightly greasy and the roast beef was overcooked. I like roast beef to be pink/red so next time I would get it cold. The mozzarella and garlic bread was nice and fresh. Horseradish sauce was very yummy and definitely added more flavor to the sandwich. I also tried the Reuben, but i'm not the biggest fan of them. It was ok. Overall I just think this place is alright. I will probably come back to try a cold italian hero though.

For $9.50 you can get a giant hero stuffed with a half lb of meat and generous amounts of toppings. My fiancé come specifically for their homemade roast beef. We've taken friends and family here for their giant fresh hero's and nobody has ever been disappointed. They have hot food out as well that always looks amazing. There's cold salads, cakes, soups and a butcher in the back. They also have groceries on shelves in fridges and sometimes have better prices/items than the local grocery store. Our favorite sandwich one stop shop.

    what's me worry?

Slow, rude and expensive - I have tried several times over the years to support this family business, but they always disappoint.

Ask the Community - Sal's Meat Market

Scale of 1-5, how good are the prime dry aged cuts compared to buying uncooked directly from Bryant & Cooper or Peter Lugers to go?

Has anyone ever had a problem with a turkey from here?

No. The turkeys are usually dead when you get them and therefore cause very few problems.
