Since I was in…read moreFishtown I decided to visit the one on Belgrade St. I wanted to get their various onigiri, but I got there a little too late so the only ones left was the lobster onigiri. Also picked up smoked salmon to try. I have not tried the smoked salmon yet, but I did like the onigiri, but was slightly disappointed. I liked the fact that the filling was placed throughout the rice (instead of traditionally placing in the center only); however, I felt it lacked in flavour and did not taste too much lobster. Also felt $8 for this onigiri was a bit steep. I would like to go back and try other onigiri and also buy some sushi grade tuna and salmon. I am still giving this place 4 stars because I know the quality is good, and until I taste other onigiri I don't want to be too hasty in giving them lower stars.

The tuna texture was smooth and had the right amount of firmness. Best of all, not a hint of fishiness. I ordered from a different online company for sushi grade tuna and salmon before and the quality was just okay. I am glad I won't need to do that anymore because I will be going here from now on. AND the price point is very reasonable here for what you're getting. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to make sushi/poke at home!

If you want to cook seasonally look no further than Philly Foodworks. You will be introduced to new…read moreand tasty vegetables. Vegetables you will not find at a conventional grocer. It's not just the vegetables: the dairy selection is outstanding, the eggs are the best eggs I've ever used! The local cheeses on offer are like nothing you've tasted! The meats section is comprehensive. If you want to amplify your kitchen this is it. I have created some epic dinners since I've started as a member of Philly Foodworks. Yes they are a tad more expensive but the quality and freshness of having produce farm direct is worth it. I love the once a week delivery. If you're a serious cook wanting to produce "chef quality plates" become a member. Quality is assured, they stand behind what they sell. Service is top notch Check out their website.

I really enjoyed getting my produce from Philly Foodworks while living in Philadelphia. I went for…read morethe subscription box and it was almost always full of a variety of perfectly ripe fruits and veggies. Once in a while I would get something that was not as fresh, but it was very rare. Philly Foodworks is unique among csa-type distributors because they have a full online grocery store you can shop from, whether you're getting a produce box or not. I was able to get almost all of my groceries each week from Philly Foodworks with their numerous options. If you shop around, you can find really affordable items as well. Subscriptions for eggs, dairy, and meat offer further discounts. In general, I ended up spending as much, or a tad less, than I would for the same items from an actual grocery store. I only ever shopped online, but I believe they also have a store front you can go to if that option is better for you. They deliver right to your doorstep for a small fee and the actual process of getting groceries/subscriptions was always a breeze. The quality of the food cannot be overstated. Once you go direct from the farm, it's hard to go back to the tasteless big-box grocery store produce. The eggs and milk were also amazing, as was the beef. Last but not least, they're a great organization with increasing access, sustainability, and regenerative farming practices at the root of everything they do.

I arrived a little early. Parking: tight. They have a little parking lot but that was filled. You can park on the street. They have a walk up window. I gave my number and was told my order would be up. It took more than 30 minutes. I ordered $5 crabs and had them sautéed. There's an extra charge. They came with a sauce. I ordered Buffalo butter. You can order whole crabs. The crabs were ok. They were meaty but I was looking for this great flavor and it wasn't there. I ordered a side of cajun seafood. Omg!! Omg!!!! There was too much cajun seasoning. I could not eat it. Overall I wasn't totally happy with the crabs. I'm not sure what all of the hype was about. I may go back to get whole crabs and make a sauce of my own.
