A very causal family style dining restaurant. We were greeted right away. Apparently it is always packed and weekend, you have to wait. Staff were very friendly and always greet with a smile. Visited this restaurant while staying in Kingsville for Ontario staycation and it was the real deal. People waiting in line early for Sunday dinner was a good sign, we were lucky that we were seated quickly and at a table. There is an option to sit at the counter as well, which gives a diner kind of vibe. Everyone looked like they were enjoying their food. It was very busy but the servers were efficient and friendly. The food - awesome and reasonably priced. I had the mix plate and my husband had the quesabirria which he couldn't stop raving about. It was closed on Monday so we couldn't go back. We are definitely going back next time we are in Leamington. read more

This is an inviting and casual place to eat. Very kid friendly. Meals are affordable. I liked everything I tried. It was on the heavy side. Delicious! I've been missing legitimate tacos like from taco trucks (from the west coast) and these are the closest tacos I've found. Wish they would have come with a lime but meh, that's just being overly picky. The pastor taco had the best seasoning and even pineapple for the sweetness (definitely authentic tasting) and the chorizo was perfection. The two cups of verde salsa definitely need more of that salsa. Two tacos was plenty for me. My husband got a chorizo torta with fries and a soda. The fries were SO GOOD! Authentic Mexican restaurant. We had a chicken fajita, a cow tongue (lengua) taco and a beef burrito. The chicken fajita ($15) was pretty good. The cast iron plate came out sizzling hot. There were chunks of chicken meat, generous amount of sauteed onion and red pepper. The flavour was just right. The re-fried bean was very, very good: richly flavoured, smooth and undiluted. The corn tortillas were all right but could be softer. The rice tasted all right but was too mushy. The cow tongue taco ($2.25) was fresh and delicately flavoured. The meat's natural taste came through nicely. Lots of fresh cilantro added to the aroma. Loved it. The double soft tortillas tasted average/good/all right. The portion was snack sized. One will likely need 3 tacos to make a meal. The beef burrito ($5) was okay. The re-fried bean and the rice was good, but the beef was ground beef. I was hoping for beef strips. No such luck (meh). The portion was just right as a grab and go lunch. I paired it up with a taco appetizer, and it was a good portioned dinner for me. The seating area was clean, spacious and welcoming. The ambience feels like a restaurant. There was a salsa corner that customers selected their sauces. All of them were fresh and spicy. I tried and enjoyed all of them. The operation was self-served style. Customers ordered at counter, paid, then picked up food at counter when food was called. We were not sure if they expected tips, but we tipped anyway. Great Mexican restaurant! Good home made Mexican food. I had the beef Ranchero dinner meal and it tasted great. It was pieces of beef sautéed in veggies and beans and rice on the plate with some corn tortillas. It wasn't fancy but who cares about that, it's about the food! My friend had the beef Burrito and he said it was better than most places he has been to! So overall a good place to try for some authentic Mexican food. I tried this on recommendation of Yelp and loved it. U have to order at the counter as they don't have waiter/waitress staff. U r given a number and whe your order is ready they call out the number. U have to get up to get your own water and extra condiments. Meals are generous and reasonable for pricing. Food was not over salted. My wife said her chicken fajitas was very good. I ordered the triple chicken beef and shrimp fajitas and my daughter ordered chicken flautas. All were excellent. Only thing that I would prefer is more corn tortillas that come with the meal. 3 are provided and u need more than this for a 30 $ triple fajitas meal. U have to buy extra tortillas but that's just a side point. Business is getting used to growing pains but on their way to having an excellent restaurant. The restaurant was full by the time we left . I can sum thus place up in one word.... "WOW" I was a tad concerned about going, thinking it would be along the lines of other places I've been to, but this place surprised and surpassed all my expectations. Located in a strip mall...the only "benchmark" being the Shoppers Drug Mart...It's not easy to find but well worth the effort. Let me start by saying this isn't Tex-Mex food..It's authentic Mexican fare. The decor is comfortable...warm colours, comfortable seating, salsa station. The menu is a huge blackboard behind the cashier...and it's quite the extensive menu. You order at the cashier and the food is prepared and brought to the counter...there's no table service. After the cashier described the daily special, we settled on the Enchilda Dinner...3 chicken (or beef) Enchildas, with Mexican rice and Refried beans...all for $9.50...a complete steal based on quality of food. We ordered and were given a small bowl of nachos and directed to the salsa bar. It had 3 different types of salsa, limes, jalapenos and various Mexican bottled hot sauces. After a nominal wait time, our food was brought out. The enchiladas were light and tasty, the rice perfectly flavoured...even the refried beans were excellent. As I like things spicy, I added some hot sauce over the enchiladas. They didn't need it to mask the flavour, but more for personal preference. It certainly kicked it up a notch. The female cashier was warm and friendly...even asked after we ate what we thought of the place. This place is now on my radar....food is excellent. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. I came in for a late afternoon snack, and ordered two tacos, not realizing that they have a $7.50 credit card minimum. I then asked if they take USD, and they said that yes, at a 1:1 ratio. I had no problem with that, and gave them a $20, only to realize that I was getting change in Canadian dollars. Since I'm only spending a night here, I asked to instead get a third taco, gave them back my change, and they handed me back my $20. I then paid with my credit card, but was not able to put a tip on the credit card. I hate stiffing the restaurant on tips, but I can only assume that the lack of a tip option indicates that they're owners or being paid above minimum wage. However, their patience deserved a tip even if that was the case. During the entire transaction, I was treated with respect and courtesy, even though I'm not sure I would have had the restraint, if I was on the other side of the counter. I was then given a complimentary tray of chips with some delicious, chunky, mild salsa. There's a self serve salsa bar with a blended red salsa (a beautiful heat that warms you up from the inside), a green salsa, pico de gallo, lime wedges, pickled jalapenos, lettuce, etc... There's also a self serve water dispenser with limes. Everything was delicious, tasted fresh, good portion sizes, and very reasonable cost. This is certainly a place I plan on coming back to when in the area, especially since it's about 50 feet from the Comfort Inn. Next time though, I'll be better prepared. read more

Caught a glimpse of the kitchen.... its immaculate! And Mama is cooking! Service is extremely quick considering everything is made fresh to order. all ingredients are made in house. Straight after walking in you are taken back to mexico, the whole restaurant makes you feel like you are eating in Mexico. One thing to know is that there is no sign indicating the name of the resturant, you know it's yhe place ones you spot the Mexican flag on the window among other mexican related things inside. We ordered 2 enchaladas and 2 burritos both chicken and beef, that also came with rice (best ever) and refried beans. They give you a tray of chips and salsa on the house per table and if you want a second you have to buy it. The food was great cooked to perfection and plenty and reasonable for the price. Normally in toronto all the Mexican food offered are a bit fusion and or westernized. This how ever stayed true to its roots and it immediately took me back to cancun with every bite. To wash down all this great food we ordered horchata and pineapple juice, the pineapple juice tasted like it was in crystal form and the horchata was on point, the sweetness and the spices and the vanilla levels were just right. All in all I give this 4 starts only because it was a but hard to find even with a gps. The establishment could have better business if it had a sign outside and on top of the building. Food was authentic and very good. Restaurant was clean. Service was neither prompt nor friendly. We initially walked in and were told to order at the counter. We were the only people there. Right after that, the employee disappeared and didn't return. We had to hit the bell twice to place our order. When the food came out, we had to pick up at the counter. Where is the Canadian charm? The first basket of chips and salsa is small and complimentary. They gouge for the second ($4)?!? What a treat. This is a wonderful little restaurant. We went for lunch there are several small tables for and a couple of larger tables for groups of 8. The menu is on a chalkboard and you place your order with the cashier who when asked explains the meals clearly. You can get simple takeout or a complete meal. We had the chicken flauta and enchilada and a side of guacamole. Some Mexican food gets heavy handed with cheese but here our meals were light and fresh with lots of flavour. The guacamole was very good with the right blend of avocado, tomato, onion and cilantro. For 2 meals and soft drink under $35 including a small tip, great value. read more

I had Salasa caliente cater my taco bar at my wedding last weekend. Food was great HOWEVER I ordered and paid for 200 tacos not all 200 tacos were eaten, naturally I assumed that I would get the leftover tacos since I paid for them..NOPE they were packed up and taken by the owner. I spotted a worker drinking alcohol at the bar on my dime I also had a pizza bar being served next to them , I had about 3 full boxes of pizza left over which I wanted to take home for our luncheon the next day, and the owners and crew helped themselves and packed all the pizza up and took it home with them as well That's not even the worse part. At the end of the night as they were cleaning they helped themselves to my dessert table not only taking 1 big take out container but they helped themselves to 6 LARGE takeout containers--leaving us with NOTHING but grapes and melons to take home. That dessert table cost me 3000.00 and they just helped themselves leaving my family and friends and bridal party with nothing to take home. I was not impressed at all. No one asked, had they of asked would of been a different story. when I confronted them the owner went from saying they only took fruit , to saying they only took 1 container to saying she took 4 the story changed multiple times Lucky for me my husband and I were taking a selfie by our LOVE sign which was displayed at our dessert table and we happen to have 2 workers packing up desserts in our photo. Also, as I was thanking them (still unaware all this happened) I had asked if they got paid their remaining balance from my mom ..the owner said "no" so I went up to my mom as my mom said she paid the owner right in front of her she then said ohhh yes yes she paid...allowing me to believe that they weren't paid and I would of paid them AGAIN I am so mad not only for the service and the lies, but because I was basically cleaned out of my own dessert table at my wedding.
