The food is delicious, but they need help in getting their orders correct thru the drive thru. If you have a larger order be sure you check your bag for all contents ordered BEFORE leaving there. We had Salsa Verde cater a party for us. The food arrived at the exact time they said it would and the two women who delivered were very nice and professional. The food itself was outstanding and we were provided a LOT of food. They included a lot of extra meat and cheese and all sorts of things. All in all in was an A+ experience. Awesome food. Best Mexican food in town for carry out and the prices are very reasonable. We prefer the carry out as the one time we ate inside they appeared to be having a plumbing issue and the men's bathroom smelled like raw sewage. This is an old building so I hope this was a one time problem rather than an ongoing issue. I'll eventually eat inside again and find out. I've been to this restaurant ten times now and I still order the ceviche every time. I love that they make it fresh to order and I can request no tomatoes and they never seem annoyed about my special request. The ceviche always is very flavorful and I absolutely love the salsa bar that they have in the middle of the dining area. The variety of salsas that they have are freshly made and the salsa bar is always clean and attended by one of the workers. I think the salsa bar is really unique touch. The bar also has freshly cut limes, pico, onions, cilantro, and peppers too that you can add to your meal. They also have $1 taco's on Tuesday's and I think 1/2 price appetizers on Wednesday's. As for some of the other menu items- the pastor taco is my favorite taco that they make. The balance of sweetness is just perfect and the meat is never over cooked either always juicy and not fatty either. They do offer a nice selection of other tacos to choice from- I do like the fish taco but if I'm in the mood for fish I'll just order the ceviche. I add the verde salsa and the hot salsa to my ceviche to kick it up a notch and its delicious! The manager there is very personable and nice and always seems to remember the regulars which is nice to see. read more

I was hoping that this place would be awesome. I've been wanting to come here for a while. My boyfriend and I decided to give this place a shot this afternoon. I ordered the steak taco platter and he had the flautas platter. Everything looked good but when we took our first bite everything was so bland. I was so upset and very disappointed. The steak tasted like it was boiled in water. I really really wanted to like this place. I barely got through the tacos and I said I was done. The rice and beans were ok I guess. Great new restaurant in Geneva AND it has a drive-thu. We had fish tacos and a shrimp taco. There were excellent. Corn tortillas were perfect. My boyfriend introduced me to this place and their tacos are really good! The first time I had gotten the shredded chicken and pastor tacos the pastor is awesome with little chunks of grilled pineapple in it! I thought that the shredded chicken was a little bland and needed some spice but the next time I opted for the grilled chicken and it is hands down my favorite! read more

Small but vibrant quick-service Mexican food--beats out the competitors nearby, IMO. The tacos, enchiladas and burritos we've tried have all been very tasty. In particular, I love the carnitas. Much more authentic than the competitors! Fabulous, full condiment bar, but the condiment cups are just ridiculously small. Ehhh... Tried this place for the first time tonight and wasn't impressed. Ordered the carne asada, a side of elotes and churros for dessert. The carne asada was a generous portion but was so overdone that it was almost like beef jerky. It came with a tiny salad topped with avocado slices (a plus for that), and then standard rice and refried beans. The elotes were a good sized side portion as well, but a bit on the soupy side and the corn was like mush. I did love the churros, but then again who doesn't like churros? They were warm and came with a side of ice cream and I think it was caramel sauce but I hate caramel so didn't bother trying that. I might try this place again just to see what the burritos are all about. In the meantime, at least now I know a place where I can satisfy my churro craving (with a drive thru!) if I'm not at Costco. read more

I LOVE Salsa Verde. It's about time someone stepped up to the plate and made a worth-while Mexican restaurant in Saint Charles. The place is super clean, and the service is amazing! The cashier girl with the curly hair and big glasses always makes sure we are well taken care of. The owners of the place were sure not to hire anyone that wouldn't provide that warming welcome. This place doesn't even deserve the one star.! I ordered nachos from the drive-thru came home to tasting nasty stale nachos. The chips were soggy and they just tasted old. So I called them. A girl answered and I asked for the manager. She hands the phone to some guy who I assumed was the manager so I explained what happened. Then he proceeds to tell me to hold on then a woman comes on the phone. I asked her who she was and she said she was the manager. I asked her why I wasn't directed to her first and she told me because she was "busy." I told her what happened. She apologized once then proceeded to tell me how the nachos are made making me feel like I'm at fault and that I don't know what I'm talking about. She also told me I could come back and get more gross nachos or have credit for next time I come back. I asked her how the credit thing works. And she told me that she will tell her staff my name and when I come in just to tell them. Is she serious? Rude workers and nasty food!
