The hubs and I have been a huge fan of Salsa's 4 on the Berlin Turnpike since they opened. They are always open (when we need them to be) and their food is always consistent. Now I have been blessed to know that the newest restaurant is located just one town over AND although they have many of the same dishes that I love at Salsa's 4, Salsa's 6 does have some unique menu options for this location. Their a la carte taco options are some that I have not found replicated in the area and their veggie quesadilla is always a hit. Food was absolutely amazing! I highly recommend getting the carne asada platter. And, everything was made fresh and came out quickly!

We got a pork belly taco, al pastor taco, and two cali burritos. The pork belly taco was really tasty but dry. Unfortunately, the salsas that they gave on the side were either too spicy or cilantro-y for us. The al pastor taco was fine but didn't have enough flavor and was a little too sweet. The burritos were decent. Huge, so definitely good bang for your buck. I really hate that they packed in so much of the Spanish rice which just had such a bland, slight tomato-y flavor. The section that had the corn, pico, and guacamole was great, though. I wish that covered more of the burrito. And the chicken was decent. Only slightly overcooked. Also, I didn't have much flavor and was annoyingly not chopped enough, so I would take a bite, and a two-inch piece of chicken would get pulled out of the whole thing. Overall, we were happy to have huge meals and have leftovers, but the flavor was lacking, and it won't be memorable. read more

I'm a big Fan of Salsa's 4 in Newington. I've been aware that the same team opened Salsa's 6 within driving distance of my home, but it was area Yelp friend Des D (What Up Des D) that informed me Salsa's opened in the Chef's Dawg House Plaza. The menu is at least very similar to Salsa's 4. Salsa's 6 had two tables for dine in, but it seemed more of a takeout and delivery service spot. My taco salad was very good with the addition of ground beef and a house made rojo sauce. I live closer to Salsa's 4, but those in the Salsa's 6 area should feel lucky to have a great spot for tacos, Tortas, burritos, etc. Five Stars read more

Stopped in for lunch on a recommendation from an acquaintance at the VA down the street. He said that the food was better than Ocho Cafe in West Hartford, my go to for Mexican food in CT. I have to admit that my expectations were low, as the place is located behind a 7 Eleven in a non-de script shop in the back of a parking lot. I ordered a small salsa and chips (warm chips and good salsa), a MX Coke (mi favorito!) and a pollo asada. All exceeded my expectations. The chicken was extremely fresh and tasty, seasoned very nicely but not too much. The rice was nice and there was a wonderful grilled and fresh seasoned jalapeño pepper and pico de gallo. Mi estomago approves! I will definitely be back to peruse more menu items with my discerning (fussy) palate. Give this place a try, I don't think you'll be disappointed. read more

Ordered on Friday, 7/18/25, and was pleasantly surprised by how quickly the food arrived. Everything was fresh and delicious. I had a salad bowl with beans and chicken rings--flavorful, with crisp lettuce and perfectly toasted tortilla pieces. My friend enjoyed her flauta meal, which came with rice and beans and hit the spot. The churros were a standout--crispy, warm, and just the right amount of sweet. Salsa's 6 Mexican Grill is a cute restaurant. My boyfriend and I stopped by today. We ordered Street Corn(one of my favorite things) and the Carne Asada Burrito. Additionally, we had some chips and salsa. The staff was super friendly and honored our request to cut the burrito in half. The burrito came stuffed with steak, black beans, rice, pico de gallo and cheese. It was worth the money and very delicious. The corn was so flavorful! They have 2 indoor tables with outdoor seating as well. They have takeout available. The air conditioning felt great on a humid day like today. read more

Never would have thought that a nondescript little place in back of a 7/11 would have some of the best Mexican food I've ever tasted. We were told about this place by others in town, otherwise I never would have known about it. My teens and I happened to visit on Taco Tuesday, and loaded up on incredibly tasty and hearty tacos for a special price. You could do bicep curls with the burrito. The food is so good, I want to try everything on the menu. Amazing vibe inside with the music and decor. This is our new go-to when we are craving tacos, burritos, and nachos. Bye-bye Moe's, Chipotle, and Taco Bell! We are blessed to have a quality local taqueria in town. A true hidden gem. read more

Cute little Mexican restaurant located at the back of a plaza. It's mostly a takeout place since there are only two tables. We had the street corn, fish, lengua and beef barbacoa tacos. The employee was friendly and provided us with complimentary chips and salsa. The street corn comes with 4 pieces. The flavor was good but the corn was too mushy, either overcooked or frozen. The tacos are on the small side but packed with meat. The limes pieces could be larger/juicier. It comes with three types of hot sauce. I enjoyed the lengua taco the most. There is no restroom and your hands will get messy so it's best to take the food to go or bring hand wipes. read more

We ordered a burrito, some tacos, and the Navajo nachos for takeout this week. The service was friendly and fast. The food was tasty and the portions were generous. I thought the barbacoa taco was better than the chorizo one. The nachos had lots of meat and jalapeños, but less cheese than I like. The price is a bit high as compared to other taquerias I like, but the quality makes up for it. I'm glad to have a place for Mexican takeout in Newington. We will be back again soon!! read more

I will recommend this place probably every time I have the chance! The tacos are sooooooooooo amazing. The flavor, the amount, and the price! The burritos??? Omg, I'm not a burrito person but when my husband orders it, they weigh like 10 pounds lol! I would order one too! The nachos are amazing and the empanadas are huge. Please please please order from here because it's worth your money. I would recommend you get the pork belly and the Al pastor tacos. Amazing little spot tucked away in a small space behind the 7-11. It is a very small space, so eat-in is difficult, lots of take-out orders, and they are busy! The street corn is so freaking good so do yourself a favor and get it. I get 5 tacos, and if you go on Tuesdays they are 1.00 off for taco Tuesdays. The chicken chimichanga is HUMUNGOUS! I am so happy my friend recommended this hidden gem, and it literally is a hidden gem, hiding behind 7-11 in a small plaza on Willard Ave in Newington. First, we ordered pick up on-line and everything was ready fast. Second, everything was ordered was correct, no errors. Third, the food was great and reasonably priced. Lastly, the jalapeño poppers were the best I ever had..... finally a fresh made jalapeño popper, not the frozen crap, stuffed with cheese, bacon and then fried with a thin breading style coating.
