First experience here on a Saturday afternoon between lunch and dinner- surprised by the crowd coming in for takeout at that time. Had a beef taco salad, hubby had two tacos. Loved the tomatillo salsa that came with the tacos, wished my salad had a little more seasoning but I realize you cater to the crowds. People next booth over had a pizza that looked great - that might be the next visit- there absolutely will be more ! Ps - TV volume is a little loud but I didn't ask them to switch it so I can't complain

This place pretty much goes BACK, At least the burritos do. My bf and I always eat burgers and pizza so we decided to switch it up. We got the ground beef and steak burritos. The beef burrito was delicious, the meat portion was plentiful as they were not stingy. Everything fell into place. The steak burrito was even BETTER, the steak was perfectly seasoned. Perfectly cooked- so well cooked I could enjoy it with my braces. There was alot of steak which was a relief considering it was so good. The reason I give this place 4 stars is because the rice in the burrito could've have more flavor...whether it be a hint of seasoning or some lime. But the burrito was THICC but stayed together. The prices were more than fair, 9/10 I would highly recommend here The burritos come with mild (green) and spicy (red) salsa. UPDATE: Just had the tacos, the chicken and steak tacos are okay... But the beef tacos were delicious! UPDATE 2: The quesadillas are very good! The actual location doesn't really have alot of seating. The name of the place throws you off but theexixan they serve is quality.

Really good! I did find the chicken a little bland, so maybe don't get that, but it was nbd as their sauces are so good, it makes up for it. We also got nachos (not pictured) that were decent. We got this as takeout in May FYI. I think it's a good value for your price and they're a small business so definitely support! Will try the pizza next!

Best tacos in town..I asked them why pizza and tacos and they said because kids like pizza so it lets mom and dad eat Mexican while the kids have pizza. Try the crunchy tacos...and the barbacoa

Hands down the best Mexican food in the area. I'm very particular about Mexican food, since being from Texas and CT does not have much to choose from when it comes to authentic Mexican food. But I'm proud to say I looove this place, it's my first time here. I definitely plan on going again many more times in the near future. Husband and I tried the nachos, which were so delicious. We also had one soft taco each and again very delicious. The service was awesome and it is to me a hole in the wall/small "which are the best".

Best delivery place by far in my area. I actually live within walking distance however still get the delivery, lol. I've gotten there pizza slices when I was drinking a little bit and they were pretty good so I decided to give the Mexican food a try. The pizza is actually really good - for the area really good nevertheless delivery - can't go wrong. It's thin crust, good chew good toppings pretty cheap. On to the Mexican. Hands down best Mexican in the area. I got their crunchy tacos they came fully loaded , hot , delicious. 10/10 would buy again. Got the quesadilla - 10/10 would buy again. It's not greasy or unhealthy tasting like Azteca - and on top of it all they deliver. All of their sides - salsa verde , sour cream , pico de gallo are homemade and awesome . I can't wait to order a burrito. On the phone I had to change my order Multiple times, the person who took my order was a pro - order came exactly how I wanted it Great job guys keep putting out great food. Edit: added pic of the pizza - ate the Mexican too fast to snap a pic :(

Omg! If I could give 10 stars I would! I just ordered doordash and am really impressed ! I ordered a chicken ceasar wrap and an el pastor crunchy taco and everything was packed with flavor. What really surprised me was how amazing the crunchy taco was. Looks like they fry their own corn tortillas so the shell was thick and still super crunchy after being delivered!! I wish I ordered more !!!! I couldn't upload a pic of the taco because it was gone in a matter of seconds lol

Clean. Tasty authentic ingredients. I had a El Mexicano burrito, it was enough to feed a small family of four! OK OK it was really big... They need to place TV in the dinning room or put on some music at least.

Shame on me for taking so long to try this place. I live less then a 5 min walk from this amazing place. I haven't tried the pizza or the Italian section of the menu but the Mexican is fantastic. We ordered a taco salad and a steak cutlet torta sandwich... The salad was huge. Loaded with a avocado lettuce cheese and seasoned non greasy hamburger. My fav was my sandwich. Something different and new to my taste buds.... The roll was buttered and toasted and loaded with onion cheese avocado fresh cut tomato and a nice steak cutlet. Oh and I can't forget the jalapeño !!! I regret not trying this sooner... Next in the list is the Burrito!!

    Steak burrito!

Not sure how ppl can rate the pizza highly when you have such stellar examples of what great pizza actually tastes like not too far away in New Haven. It's strip mall pizza. Don't go in expecting high quality food. But, yeah, the guy at the counter was super nice, and that counts for something in my book.

My husband ordered a small (12in) cheese pizza, and I decided to go with a small (12in) vodka pizza. I love vodka sauce but had never tried it on a pie before, man was it delicious!- Chef's kiss! My husband really enjoyed his traditional cheese pizza as well! It was great to find a new haven style pizza joint further into the state. They also serve Detroit style pizza which I'd be interested in trying next time. The only downside was not having room to try the italian ricotta donuts that look and sound amazing (which JG doesn't start serving till 5pm). I guess that means we'll just have to go back! 10 out of 10 for JG, we shall return!

The crust is tough and crunchy with delicious charred flavor from the high heat firing. We tried their tomato pie with mozzarella which I quite liked. It was on the blander side but with the oregano and garlic, was quite palatable. We also got their famous clam pie but we were not terribly impressed. To me it almost tastes like a clam pasta on a pizza. It's basically just what the name implies. I wouldn't go out of my way to get it again but the tomato pie was great. Our service was stellar. The people checked on us frequently and got us all the drinks we wanted. They helped us pack the pizza in foils so we could out the leftovers in our hotel fridge. A word of warning! Not…read moreclams, not cheese, not crust--just the allium family's most fart-prone, overhyped stepchild. I may or may not be contemplating a couple of Tums. I'm conflicted on this 2/5 rating since I wish there was a 2.5/5 option here. There are some promising things about Frank Pepe's: a coal-fired oven, photos of the same white clam pizza I ordered that look more like pizzas I had in Italy than the one I got, and other options for toppings that might work out better. Perhaps asking for light garlic and maybe the addition of the calabrian chilies from the seasonal special pizza (or pickled jalapeños, if available) would've fixed the balance (and topping palatability) of this pizza. A different pizza also may be substantially tastier, but goshdarnit, we're close enough to the ocean that I'd like to think the white clam is a slam-dunk. It's even listed in neon in the window! As ordered, unchanged, off the menu, though, I feel like I need to leave this state for a pizza just to feel something. Connecticut calling itself "the pizza state" has thus far been a lie; a cruel joke wherein a few outstanding outliers try to gloss over the fact that most of the state's pizza is mid-to-bad. "Mystic Pizza" being one of the state's most famous audiovisual exports sort of fits given that the availability of standout pizza here appears to be a mystical unicorn I've yet to find after moving here last year. Pepe's gets serious props for using large chunks of clams that don't look like the typical, uniformly cut, restaurant-supply-can chunks, but they were a bit rubbery and almost completely drowned out by the amount of garlic. It's like they were cooked too long, and the moisture from the clams evaporated accordingly. The crust had a little crunch to it as well, but lacked the crispy bubbles and heavier charred spots I expect from this style of pizza and from the assorted menu photos. Either go foldable or go harder on the fire--anywhere in between lands in disappointment territory. Commit to a bit. $8 a pint is a bit much for basic beer selections like Sam Adams and Peroni, too, but that's sort of my least concern. We live in Hell where everything is expensive lately, and at least beer prices haven't shot up as badly as gas prices. I probably should've ordered the sangria in hindsight. White peach? Here for it. Also, the staff was friendly, and service was prompt. I really should give it a second chance with a more traditional tomato-sauce pizza, or maybe a margherita. If you go, expect it to fall short of the hype unless whoever made the nicely bubbly white clam pie in the photos posted here is manning the oven. Unless you like garlic as much as I like cheese, consider asking to go light on the garlic for a better-balanced pizza if you order this one.
