    View of the marina

Beautiful views, fabulous wait staff. This is a lovely restaurant overlooking the marina in Charlottetown harbor. We picked it because of the reviews it got and we are glad we did. We were staying in Sories for a week on Prince Edward Island and came to Charlottetown for the day. Taking a break from Sea Glass hunting to take advantage of the US dollar against the Canadian. Which I have to say is pretty much wiped out with their insane tax rate, 15%!!!, unbelievable, I will never again complain about the Sonoma County tax rate of 8.25. Ok, enough of the rant, my friend got the fresh halibut fish and chips, she said very good. I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken sando, I had just gotten back from Nashville/Franklin Tennessee a week before so I know what it is. This was ok, but not the real thing, but who cares when you are in a wonderful space looking at a crazy view with nice people.

    Fish and chips. Sol bowl.

Amazing food. Had fish and chips at another restaurant the other day, very disappointed. At the Salt and Sol they were fantastic. Great atmosphere. Highly recommend. Staff are on it. Very knowledgeable and accommodating.

Fabulous service, good eats, and a lovely view! The patio was bumping but we managed to snag an outdoor patio seat in a gorgeous evening while the Wednesday sailing races were on. Served water and drink orders taken promptly with a fantastic selection of local brews and crafted mix drinks and wine. The menu is small but captures something for everyone form the true PEI seafood like oysters and fish and chips, the elote salad and Nashville fried chicken Sammy. You aren't overwhelmed by the menu at all yet everything sounds so good and you'll still have trouble deciding what to get! We both ordered the Nashville fried chicken Sammy after it was recommended by a friend and it was delightful! Perfect amount of spice, with the crispness of the outside capturing a delightful and moist inside. The brioche bun was so fresh and the sweet and spicy Nashville sauce was finger licking good. It comes with a side of crispy seasoned fries or you can upgrade to equally tasty sweet taters. I think salt and sol nailed the vibe they were going for with beachy yatch club energy in a relaxed setting. Will definitely be returning for some fun patio vibes and good eats!

Sol Bowl was delish, as were the fries and chicken sandwich. Go here is you want to have a good meal on the water, or catch a cold drink.

The service was great. Everyone was friendly and polite. Street parking is free after 5pm on Friday…read more(not sure about other days). I came without a reservation and they were out of tables inside, but the outside dining area was pretty and clean. It was covered by umbrellas and there were heaters placed around. The food came out quickly for how busy it was, and everything was hot and freshly prepared. Some of my friends enjoyed their food, some didn't. We all got gluten free. Two got the chicken sandwich, and one of them liked it. One loved their fish and chips. I wasn't a fan of my lobster roll. The gf buns were Udi's, which are very dry and crumbly. They fall apart if they get squished or pressed, and if they get moist. I do appreciate that they have gf buns, but I wish they were good ones. We all enjoyed the fries. They were careful with cross contamination, and pan fried the fish to make sure it wasn't contaminated with gluten batter. I really liked how clear the menu was with what is and isn't gf. We asked a server if the fish and chips was dairy free, and she said yes. Then a different server ran over and told us it was not. They *can* make it dairy free but since we didn't ask for it, they hadn't. They offered to remake it, but we didn't need it to be, we just needed to know. Parking was a struggle but that's expected, not holding it against the restaurant.

Sea Rocket Oyster House was hands down one of the highlights of our trip to Prince Edward Island…read more Not only did they serve the best oysters we had on the island, but every single dish exceeded our expectations. We sat outside on Victoria Row, and there was live music from Always on Stage throughout dinner. It created such a fun atmosphere and made for the perfect summer evening. We took our server Brooke's recommendations and ordered a half dozen raw oysters, the Chickpea Salad, the Baked Oysters 3 Ways (Rockefeller Butter, Champagne Cream, and Miso Aioli), Salmon, Lobster Thermidor, and the Ube Cheesecake for dessert. I'm so glad we trusted her because every dish was absolutely exceptional. Everything was incredibly fresh, perfectly prepared, and packed with flavor. The oysters were the standout of the meal and easily my favorite on PEI. Brooke was wonderful throughout the evening. She was friendly, attentive, and genuinely knowledgeable about the menu, making the entire dining experience even better. From the outstanding food to the excellent service, Sea Rocket absolutely lived up to the hype. Between the incredible food, the lively atmosphere on Victoria Row, and the excellent service, I can't wait to come back the next time I'm in PEI!
