The numerous amount of times I've been to the Olde Dublin Pub, Definitely on the list of the must visit locations on the Island if you're into having a good old pint! Stopped for dinner after touring the island all day. They had live music which was nice to listen to as we wound down. The server had a great attitude and smile, she was quick to check in on us and noticed everything. We got the Potato Skins, Bacon Wrapped Scallops, and Cajun Onion Rings. It all came out quick and tasted great. I eat potato skins everywhere and these were some of the best! Definitely worth a stop. read more

After arriving by plane in Charlottetown, we decided to have lunch on this strip as we were staying outside of the city. I have been to the strip before and lots of people and lots of restaurant options. The good: Oysters were $1.50 each and we had 36; unless you shuck yourself you won't beat that price and they were decent. The bad: Three of 6 of us had the lobster roll; it was the worst I have ever had (and I have family on the island so I have a few a year and have for the last 40 years). It was flavourless and it tasted like frozen lobster, which was surprising. We ate at five restaurants on the island, and this was by far the worst of our trip so I won't return. Too bad. Service was great, but sub par food is not something I do twice. read more

I ate there twice this week. First time by accident as was walking by with friends; commented that I was going there later in the week before seeing "Becoming Dolly " . First time had beet salad with chicken. Lots of chicken, slightly sweet dressing, equal amounts greens and beets. Very tasty. Second, it was haddock,steamed vegetables and rice. Well presented on the plate Fish was moist with just a coating of crusty topping. My drink was Troublemaker which if I had more time would have led to Naughty Leprechaun which my friend let me taste Service was quick and efficient. Both times the server kept our water glasses full as it was very hot this week Both nights were busy possibly due to being Old home week. Pub was noisy but not so much to be distracting. Arrived around 10p and the place was close to full. Managed to stake out a couple of seats. The band was rockin away on staples from the 70s. Think Lynard Skynard, Steve Earle, Abba, and the like. This place had amazing service. They were able to take 16 of us at lunch when other restaurants were turning us away. The $1 oysters were fantastic and so yummy. My partner and friend came in here while we were on vacation. We just stopped by for a couple of drinks while it was raining outside. It was very busy, and they could only give us a table for an hour b/c they had a reservation coming, but they let us in and served us well. I can't speak for the food, but the service was fantastic. The staff were lovely and so friendly. We actually had tried to go somewhere else but the staff at the other place didn't even acknowledge us, so we were so happy to stumble upon the Olde Dublin Pub. Great music but they turned off the Canada COPA America game for the live music. He (musician) was a blast. Wife ordered the shepherds pie and 10 mins later they came back to say they were out. We stopped there on a weekday evening for a quick bite and enjoy some time sitting down after a day of touring. We were welcomed by some live music. The good: Service was good and quick. Waiter often came over to check on us. Food was good for the rest of the family. Nachos were okay. Drinks are great. Adjustable lighting at your table (or at least the one we were sitting at). Live music sounded good and some people were participating. The bad: My quesadillas were not that good snd l was disappointed (my worst meal of my stay in PEI), so don't get that. Some tables have chairs that are high, so if you have problem climbing up higher chairs, be aware they gave some. Even though my meal personally was disappointing, l am sure l would have had success with something else (l had a bite of others' meals at our table and they were good). Rainy day in Charlottetown started here for lunch. Came for buck-a-shuck and did not disappoint (not the best oysters of the trip, but still really good). Had the steak pie and house salad for lunch (my partner added chicken to the salad). Everything tasted really good. Guinness pour was great, and server had great recco's for other places to grab a drink in the city. Definitely a must try if spending a day in Charlottetown. read more

I get it, they were very busy. I was patient and understanding. There was a cruise ship in port, which I was on. Perhaps they don't want to deal with the ship folks.. I don't know the reason really, but I was invisible, while others had their orders taken and were served. I waited and waited patiently. The final straw, was when a party came in well after me, and was acknowledged, while I still sat waiting, the server again looking through me as if I was invisible. I left $20 on the table, more than enough for the wine which, to their credit, I got immediately, and a reasonable tip, working in the restaurant industry, I know they work very hard. But I don't want to be invisible. There is absolutely no excuse whatsoever, when others are being served their food. Maybe their food is great, but you remember how you're treated. I have to give 5 stars for the Sunday night music. What a great time. Foot stomping, wonderful Celtic music and a happy, lively, wonderful crowd there to enjoy it! I did have the Shepherd's Pie which was excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Do yourself a favor and go on Sunday nights for the live music though. You won't regret it. read more

So, the Waite staff said the Fish & Chips were very good. I will disagree on that point! I didn't have the chips but my wife did. The chips she had were clearly doubled fried (fried once; went cold & fried again). They were terrible. I had the Fish of fish & chips & was clearly double fried as well. This location was clearly a tourist restaurant that during my visit DIDN'T serve their customers very well at all. Shame on them for the poor quality service! read more

I stopped by here a few Friday nights ago with my girlfriend for an after dinner drink. After walking up two flights of stairs we were greeted by a hostess who sat us at a table even though we told her that we were only ordering drinks. The inside of the restaurant was what i expected, tvs lots of seating and nothing special. They had a decent selection of bottles and drafts. My girlfriend and I both went with drafts that we're served cold. The bottom line for me is that this was a pleasant experience for me and we enjoyed our time here. read more
