We stopped here for lunch mainly because some people wanted Indian food and others wanted chicken nuggets. The menu had a nice variety of food from Tikka Masala, burgers, salads, shepherds pie, and a kid's menu. We got Tikka Masala, fish and chips, and kid's chicken nuggets which came with a mountain of mashed potatoes. Churchill is at least a weekly hop in joint for my partner and me. It is a warm and happening joint with excellent customer service and delicious pub fare! I've had a bunch of different dishes here and everything has been delicious! I especially enjoy the fish and chips (1 piece does me in) and the shepherds pie! So yummy! read more

Stopped in while in port on a cruise. The owner/bartender/waitress was the nicest person you could meet. We just wanted a drink and a snack. She made a great suggestion for a local cider for me and beer for husband. I had the double hill sparkling rose. It was a perfect drink. We had the lunch size butter chicken and chips. We dipped the chips into the curry and it was amazing. Glad I only ordered lunch size because I wouldn't have been able to stop if there had been more. My son recommended this place for the fish and chips. We went for lunch and were seated quickly. It is a pub with tv screens showing the soccer game. The food was decent and portions were big. There was an abundance of fries on each plate. I had the veg sandwich minus the cheese on a gf bun. It was pretty good. My son had the curry chicken quesadilla and enjoyed it. Hubby had the fish and chips and said it was not greasy, and it was meaty. The service was fairly quick and washrooms were clean. read more

We had a couple of evening dinners here last week and came away with mixed feelings about our experiences. Let's talk about the pros before getting to the cons: the atmosphere is as advertised, much like a British pub, with some good beers on tap, a lively vibe, a feeling of friendly intimacy and some good waitresses. And some of the food we ate was very tasty including the fish n' chips (a huge serving) and the bangers and mash with lots of mash and yummy gently spiced bangers. And then there's the con: the tables are very close together, the noise levels can get near-deafening and some of the food doesn't work. Take the shepherd's pie, which was served without a crust, just a stash of potatoes heaped on top of some ground beef. Not very satisfying. And an order of Indian curries was mistakenly served without any meat; our served missed that request, though the curries were fine. A Ceasar salad came on a very large plate (you won't go hungry here) but the lettuce was old and the dressing under-spiced. We decided that overall our two trips left us unhappy, so we're giving the pub two stars and wishing we could add a half. read more

There were a few different kinds of British curries and Nicole, my server, directed me to the Butter Chicken ... I ordered it with rice. It was good. Great little pub in the heart of Charlottetown PEI...a couple of blocks up from the waterfront! We were waiting to be seated and started chatting with some people sitting close to the doors. They had ordered the Fries and Curry and we said it looked so good. They were loving it! They loved it so much they wanted us to try . We said no, no of course but they insisted...never having eaten from a strangers plate...reluctantly we tried a fry each in the Madras Curry Sauce. Oh my goodness...that sauce was sooo good. You could could choose from 3 different curry sauces...this one was perfect for me a depth of flavour with a perfect spice level. So obviously we need to order some more of those! Our waitress was super...attentive, friendly and super knowledgeable with the menu and drinks. I was having a hard time deciding on my cider so she recommended one and then brought me a sample of the locally made cider they had on tap...which I ended up loving! We started with Deep Fried Pepperoni and Honey Mustard and they were delicious. I wasn't sure I would like them but we polished the super generous basket of these off. Crisp but still a little chew in the middle and the honey mustard was perfect. I ordered Butter Chicken made in house and it was delicious. You can get it with tortilla chips or rice...I kind of wanted to try the tortillas but I stuck with they traditional rice and naan and I was happy with my choice. The fish and chips was massive and delicious...as was the Shephard's Pie. This traditional English Pub fare did not disappoint. Was the perfect way to end our day touring PEI! I will look back on our time there with fond memories and a longing for more of their curries. read more

After being fortunate enough to go the old pub in London, I was looking forward to reliving my time there in this little pub. The decor is similar to an old English pub. The beers not so much. Stopped here for a late lunch on our vacation in PEI. They have a good menu of English dishes. I chose to have the Steak and Kidney Pie as well as the Bubble & squeak to get my fill of England. Everyone in my party was quite pleased with the food and the portions. Other than myself because I have a bottomless stomach, no one could finish their meals. The server was helpful and polite. She even allowed me to sample a bit of local brew before I decided on my beer. read more

Known for having the best curry dishes in town. On Wednesdays there's an awesome 2 for 1 special - great deal (although some say the curry isn't as good that night). On Fridays there's a Fish 'n Chips special for 6.95 till 5pm. I tried the Chicken Tikka Masala which was the first tomato based curry I've tried and really enjoyed it (ask for hot though because it's not very spicy). Everyone loves getting a split side; half rice, half fries. The lunch size would be big enough for anyone unless your starving! Only complaint would be that it's a very small pub, so don't plan to go with a group unless you seeking that packed-pub feeling. You'll find yourself waiting for a table if it's a busy night. read more

We came in for dinner and a beer but didn't feel to hungry. The server told us we could order lunch versions. We had one order of Chicken Korma and one Chicken Madras. Korma was a bit sweet for me. The Madras was wonderful, nice and spicy. We just had Indian at Thandi in Saint John 2 nights before and we enjoyed Churchill much more. Wow--was expecting a nice experience based on prior reviews. Started with seafood chowder that was ridiculously salty. Sent it back and heard the server tell the manager that this was the third time today. Manager tasted in the kitchen and came back to tell me it was "disgusting" and that they'd take it off my bill. That set the tone for an underwhelming dining experience. I had curry, which tasted subtly like spaghetti sauce. My wife had shepherds pie--not bad but nothing 4+ stars for certain. Also the iced tea is fountain, not brewed--thought that was odd for an English-style pub. Try this if you like--hope your experience is better. If not--you were warned! :-) read more

Excellent food and service! My husband and I choose seats near the bar and as time went on, the pub got busier. As a result it was much louder than we would have liked so if you'd like to enjoy a different atmosphere, grab a seat at the back. The food (mushroom chicken pie and fish and chips) was excellent. One of the best British pubs I've been to. I went on a whim because my husband was in the mood for some curry, but ended up really enjoying it. It was casual and cozy (and packed! We had a long wait, but didn't realize under we were seated that it was 2 for 1 curry night). Service was fast and friendly. We started with potato skins and both ended up trying the curry. We split the deep fried Mars bar for dessert. Drinks were super affordable. We liked it so much that we tried to go again on our last day of vacation, but sadly, they were closed on Sundays. British pub known for great beer, thin wine selection and the best conversations on Charlottetown. Wednesday is 2-for-1 curry and the food is excellent and portions more than enough. A very popular night with patrons from students to judges. The atmosphere is friendly and busy. You can stay for hours or be gone in one. A regular haunt for many and a weekly for my when I am in Charlottetown. The closest thing to a Cheers bar where everyone knows your name. Very limited menu. One of the first places I went to grab a bite when I arrived in Charlottetown. Really quaint pub with an excellent menu of traditional pub favourites and some new things. Great beer selection and they had a couple of cocktails that were actually quite tasty too. I got a really delicious chicken and sliced pear sandwich (yup, you read that right) with a delicious pesto sauce. My friend got a half order of the nachos and they were massive so warning, just the half order will definitely go a long way. The staff was super nice and attentive and friendly. They offered a lot of good suggestions for on tap beers that were Canadian. We didn't feel rushed to finish up and get out and the atmosphere was very cozy yet a little boisterous in a good way. Definitely a good pub experience for a Friday night. read more
