I wasn't expecting such a casual setting for a place that was labelled 'fine dining' in the tourism catalogue but I'm glad it was. Off the main drag, it's nice and quiet and the dog-friendly patio is huge with lots of spots in the sun or hidden back in the shade. You are in tourist-central Charlottetown, so expect to pay a little more at these places. However, having said that, I was happy to pay the price because of the quality of the food AND the service. Our service was prompt, friendly and efficient. Food came quickly, she came by regularly for refills and the portion size was good for what you pay. The fish and chips was fresh, the poke bowl was a huge portion and the beers were cold! For not being our first choice, we'd definitely come back.

Your inner foodie deserves a meal here... Pilot house is a mature and warm scene with a wonderful menu that features many local ingredients and creative combinations of the best things. Everything is served with the most friendly and professional service and every meal will be well enjoyed! Hopped into pilot for their Winterdine 2022 menu week 1 plus some other wonderful eats as well. 2 of us split the Winterdine option (an app, entree, and dessert) plus another appetizer order of the BEST SWEET POTATO FRIES in town and another entree. Appetizers: Winterdine fried mozzarella, roasted tomato sauce, garlic aioli, crostini with balsamic. Cute little appetizer that was enough to share and a tasty pre meal snack. Sweet potato fries were the real star of the appetizer round though, a large order for $10 of the most perfectly crisped and salted taters with a delightful zesty and bright aioli sauce. A MUST TRY! Entrees: Winterdine Cajun crusted pork chop, marinated mushrooms, grilled broccoli, butter & herb potatoes. A lovely presentation and rich dish full of flavour, tantalizing fatty mouth feel and the kick of Cajun. This was very tasty, albeit very salty it was non the less delicious! Second entree was Panko crusted Brie chicken with Caesar salad which offered a lighter meal option. This was a perfectly cooked piece of breaded meat, not dry with surprisingly perfect merriment with the Brie. The salad was fresh and crisp romaine loaded with artisan croutons and big bacon bits + parm. Though again, heavy on the salt, a unique flavour profile in this dish that added some nice brightness to the meal. Dessert: Winterdine dessert was a rich chocolate mousse, with salted caramel drizzle, Skor crumble, and fluffy vanilla whipped cream for a very decadent way to close a tasty meal. This was very sweet yet well balanced in flavours and texture, where the salted caramel brought out the notes of chocolate and the skor bites added the perfect crunch to the whip on top. Perfect to share and satisfy that sweet tooth! Overall, a wonderful time with a great drink selection and cozy atmosphere. Although a heavy hand on the seasoning and salt, the integrity of the food and its service shines! Everything served with a smile and food plated artfully to tantalize your appetite before you even taste it. Definitely a fantastic local spot to check out on Charlottetown! Cheers! (PS can't wait for patio season!) (PPS do yourself a favour and order the sweet taters)

Nice and cosy place . I didn't have any reservations but they immediately got me a table for two. Good parking location. The vice matches the classic building. Food was on point. Thumbs up.

My wife and I stopped by after walking this great town. The bartender was a very nice guy who offered samples of what we have never tried. He introduced us to a local soda pop that I wish we could get in the states. We enjoyed his company very much. So much so that we went back for dinner on the patio and also had a wonderful server. I am frustrated that I can't remember their names. All the food we had was excellent. Salmon/Greek Salad, Fish and Chips and Seafood Chowder. Great advice on where to go and what to do as well.

I had supper tonight at the Pilot House. Wendy, my server, brought me some warm bread and mustard butter to start. I ordered the House Fried Chicken (minus the slaw). It was good. It would have been nice if the chicken had been boneless, though. $24 seemed a lot for the meal.

I'm not sure when I found this place - it must be 10-15 years ago. It hasn't changed!!! It is as amazing as the first time we visited. Richard and Liz were so awesome tonight. We wouldn't consider going anywhere else for dinner. We love the food - the seafood - the lamb - it's all amazing!!! And we especially love the way they treat everyone with such a down home style. I can't wait to come back here!

I wanted to give this place 4 stars, but I can't. I never made it to the restaurant all the time I lived in Charlottetown, this visit was a lunch with cousins while visiting home, it's one of their favourite places in town. Since I was mainly interested in catching up on the news, I didn't make note of much of the surroundings or the menu. There are only two things that stand out in my memory of the lunch itself; The outstanding server we had and my disappointement in the lobster roll I ordered. I wish I'd caught our server's name, he was very personable and quick, he checked with us in a timely manner. In all fairness, when asked about the lobster roll, he did say it came in a hot dog bun, I just wasn't expecting in to be in the smallest store bought hot dog bun made. Neither was I expecting, just out of the fridge, lobster claw meat only, with no mayo or seasoning of any kind. There was one speck of something green, I suspect it may have been celery. The bun was, in fact, toasted but somehow had become soggy on the outside. Along with it came fries, they were fine, not the best I've had nor the worst. The only other things on the plate were a wedge of lemon and a dish of ketchup. I will add a picture. I didn't want to complain to our server because, well maybe, some people might like their lobster rolls that way. The lobster tasted fine after I used the lemon wedge and added a little salt & pepper and it was in a hot dog bun as promised. But for $15 I was expecting something better then this. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals. We tried a couple of their brewed ales which were nice. I would come back but I wouldn't order the lobster roll. If you have a hankering for one, go to McDonalds instead, a better value IMHO.

Fantastic PEI brew! "Upstreet" - while waiting for a table.

Dave's Lobster was a highlight. Mr. Bee ordered the Half & Half Lobster Roll. One half of the sandwich was "The Local", which was 1/4 lb. of tender and sweet chilled lobster tossed in seasoned mayonnaise, with crisp celery and fresh chives. The other half of the lobster roll was filled with 1/4 lb. of warm lobster tossed with lemon garlic butter and fresh chives. Both were scrumptious. The flavor of the lobster was sweet. It was really nice to have a chilled half of sandwich and a warm half of sandwich. They both were different, but we couldn't decide on a favorite. I decided no lobster for lunch so I chose a grilled cheese. It was served on the same bread as the lobster roll, but the middle was filled with ooey gooey cheese and then smashed like a panini, it too was different and really good. But that doesn't mean I didn't sneak a bite or two of the lobster roll. The eatery is down on the water in a cute bungalow building. The interior is roomy and so bright and cheerful and spotlessly clean. They offer a few outdoor patio tables, and it was such a beautiful and warm day we ate outside and it was lovely. The service was excellent and the young woman working the counter was so helpful in explaining the different lobster rolls they offer to help us choose and her recommendation was spot on. This was truly the best lobster roll we had on the trip.

The choice of rolls here and most places are to have them cold or warm, and we found we like the cold ones better. The roll comes with a side and we both picked coleslaw. I got a local beer which was a blueberry ale that was pretty refreshing. The food was not as cheap as some places and the two letters MP (market price), typically mean I will be paying more, in this case the roll and side was over $30. There was a generous amount of lobster on the roll and it was fresh but I felt it needed either more mayonnaise or some acid to bring out the flavors. The roll was toasted though and buttery but still lacking a bit. Overall a good lunch for someone who doesn't get fresh lobster rolls often.
