Watched the NBA summer league games at General Admission, then stopped over at Salt & Straw for something sweet. My friend told me it was one of his favorite ice cream places. Just like most of the Uncommons businesses, very nice decor, modern, smart. Generally speaking I'm someone who really likes more simple flavors without a ton of stuff in it. Like I'm not a fan of Sorry not Sorry for that reason. So I was a little concerned I wouldn't find anything that suited me here because they do have some crazy sounding combos. Like give me a simple, fresh organic strawberry, or blackberry, banana or peach. But there it's Strawberry with balsamic and black pepper. Or flavors with goats milk or blue cheese. Yes that's right. After I tried a half a dozen flavors or so, I settled on Double Fold Vanilla LOL. I felt like I had already gotten my variety thru the samples and I needed to be grounded again. But honestly, I was intrigued what double, organic vanilla bean tasted like. At the last second our server mentioned how she liked to get Vanilla with one other flavor. I was so stuck on trying to figure out which flavor I wanted I didn't think about that. So I ended up getting the Coffee and Nuts flavor added. The vanilla actually had very little vanilla flavor to me, I made sure to taste it before the coffee and focused super hard. With a name like that I was expecting to get hit over the head with vanilla. I hadn't sampled it because after sampling like 6 already, I was getting self conscious and assumed it had to be good. It was still enjoyable but it was more like sweet cream to me, not so much vanilla. The coffee was one of the ones I tasted and I liked it. But to my surprise, once I had the bigger scoop, I discovered the big clusters of I guess are supposed to candied pecans (pistachios) I think she said? Whatever they were, they were really good and provided the crunch and contrast that I needed. Overall this is very high quality ice cream. It's a little more creative than I usually like for my flavors, but if you're into that, you'll really love this place. And with that said, I was still able to find a combination I could enjoy. Will try again next time I'm around the Uncommons and venture into other flavors.
Located in the UnCommons, Salt & Straw is one of my favorite ice cream spots. The flavors are unique, but for me it's the texture that sets it apart. It is velvety smooth and oh so creamy. This time, I sampled the huckleberry oat crisp with foraged porcini as I grew up in the PNW and love anything with huckleberries. It was good, but I didn't think I could enjoy a full scoop. Instead, I opted for the double scoop waffle cone with Salted Malted Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Sea Salt with Caramel Ribbons. They ask if you have a preference on which scoop is on the bottom and top, which is a nice touch. Unfortunately they do not have any indoor seating, so you have to either walk around and eat it or sit in the UnCommons outdoor area. The outdoor seating is nice, but challenging in the summer with the heat. Since it's in Vegas it would be nice if they had a few tables or even just a standing bar against the window for the summer. For me personally, a double scoop is a bit much as I felt a little sugared out by the end.

Salt & Straw is located in the UnCommons next to Amari Italian and outside of the Quad. There's no place to sit here, but there's plenty of seating outside at the Quad. I've sampled a lot of the flavors, and I like how all of them include chunks of the toppings that are blended in. For example, the sea salt with caramel ribbons came with big chunky pieces of the caramel ribbons. I also like the smooth texture of the ice cream. The flavors I tried were the sea salt with caramel ribbons, salted malted chocolate chip cookie dough, and chocolate gooey brownie. When I walked in, I knew I wanted a milkshake, but after trying those three flavors, I couldn't decide what I wanted. The girl working behind the counter said I could include as much as 3 flavors with the milkshake, and that did not disappoint! I can't believe she was able to include the 3 flavors in a small size. At first I thought it was going to be too much and too sweet to have 3 different flavors for a small, but it surprisingly tasted awesome! I think what I really liked about the milkshake was the hint of saltiness that complements well with the sweet. Salt & Straw also has a freezer of ice cream that you can take with you for later. They also have cute tiny non-dairy frozen desserts for your pups! I would love to come back and try their other flavors.
Salt & Straw is a chain that is known for its unique flavor combinations. Heads up, they do not split two flavors in a kids cup, and I was not told this until afterward. Two flavors will run you close to $10 for the smallest cup. I got to try a lot of flavors, and they were all pretty good. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. The brownie one and the mint chip were my favorite. They have a ton of unique flavors too, like goat cheese and pear, and strawberry balsamic.
Stopped by Salt & Straw and loved it. The Honey Lavender ice cream was so good--creamy with a light floral flavor that wasn't overpowering. The staff was really nice and let us try a few samples before choosing, which made the experience even better. The ambiance is chill and relaxed, making it a great spot to stop by for a sweet treat.
I got lucky when I visited because even on a Saturday night, the line wasn't long and the parking was free. The ice cream flight is adorable and perfect for sharing. Each flavor gets a little cone wafer. Here are the flavors I tried: 1. Raspberry White Chocolate Cheesecake 2. Cinnamon Snickerdoodle 3. Hazelnut Cookies & Cream 4. Strawberry Honey Balsamic & Black Pepper All of them were delicious, but I'd have to say that #4 was my favorite. The sweet and acidic went well together. #1 was strong at first, but got better the more I ate it. #2 tastes exactly as expected, and #3 was good, just would have been better as regular cookies & cream vs hazelnut. What got me excited was the spoon drop! When tasting the ice cream, you're given an actual tiny spoon (not plastic). Then there's a cute opening in the front of the counter where you drop the spoons. Nice touch!
This is one of my favorite ice cream chains ever! I love how there are so many unique flavors that you can't get elsewhere. The workers are very friendly and gave us multiple samples. I got the pear and blue cheese which surprisingly works really well together! The sweet refreshing fruit chunks blended well with the savory cheese. My friend wasn't a fan though. There is seating along the walls and a lot of space to stand inside.

I thought I would not be able to like it but now it's one of my favorites. You can try some flavors by asking the staff. They will give you a sample before you finalize your order. I love their unique flavors ice cream! I used to buy their ice cream at Downtown Disney. When I buy here at uncommon, it reminds me of Disney memories. The people work here are always nice. The store is clean and it's nice to eat ice cream at uncommon. read more

When you map to it, it's a little confusing since it's located on the inner part, not the outskirts. They are known to have very unique combination of flavors that work well together. I went with the two seasonal; Hong Kong milk tea, and Ube and I was pleasantly surprised. It was the perfect combination of creamy and flavorful without it being too overboard. The service was really great, and the scoop size was very generous. I would say that this is a step up from the typical ice cream scoop shop in terms of price and quality. In addition to single ice cream scoops, they have ice cream cakes for special occasions. I recently found out that they created an app with a rewards program so I would definitely recommend to download this if you're a frequent customer. The flavor combination are what makes this place. It's far from basic and definitely would recommend coming here if you want more of a specialty ice cream flavor experience. read more
Salt & Straw is one of my favorite chains of artisan ice creams, featuring standard and unconventional flavor options like Pear and Blue Cheese. Samples are complementary so you'll never have to blindly commit to a portion of ice cream and regret it later. I got their single half and half scoop of Hazelnut Cookies & Cream (v) and limiter edition Bananas Foster with Candied Pecans (v) flavor (4/5). Their banana foster has a vibrant banana flavor that tastes authentic and probably my favorite of all I've tasted so far. Unfortunately, the texture of the ice cream tasted icy compared to WA, SD, Anaheim locations; not sure if it was an old batch at the end of the day, but that's why I took off a star. Overall, Salt & Straw provides delicious ice cream as a chain, with unorthodox seasonal flavors to make it exciting every time. Definitely will return again! read more
Kicking the new year off with this ice cream spot as my first review of 2026. Let's get to it! Ambiance: I love the warm tones and industrial feel of the space. A good mix of woods and metals. Food: I was able to sample the Strawberry Coconut Water Sherbet and Bananas Foster with Candied Pecans. They're both from their vegan menu. 5/5 stars ! Banana can be tasted throughout the cream base and the pecan bits give a nice sweet and salty crunch. The strawberry is clean, creamy, and a balanced sweet with the strawberries. I ended up purchasing a pint of the Bananas Foster to enjoy at home. Service: I will give it a 2/5 stars. We weren't initially greeted when we walked in and when we were ready to order, it seemed like we had to ask to be helped. It was strange because the two other customers had already been helped and were off to the side eating their ice cream when we walked in and the store was empty. The team member did eventually help us with the samples and directed us to the refrigerators to get our pints our ourselves. However, the service from start to finish felt very cold and that they were counting the minutes for us to be done and checked out. I was asked about a receipt and even as I was typing in my number, she had already printed it and handed me my bag to go. It was strange and I hope the customer service improves. Although the ice cream was great, the service experience brings my star rating down to 3/5 stars . read more

So fun to have a PDX staple come to Vegas! We all love the delicious ice cream and innovative unique flavors at Salt and Straw. The service is wonderful and the prices are reasonable for the quality of product. It's located in the Uncommons, which to me isn't my favorite place. It's like a fake urban area. Or like a very obvious sterile suburb that is cosplaying as a downtown urban area with its manufactured graffiti and concrete esthetic. I can see why some people like it there but it's not for me. I wish Salt and Straw had a location closer to downtown, but for now it's a drive to the suburbs kind of place. read more
I really hate going to the Uncommons because they've made parking so damn difficult (I mean, come on, don't make us PAY to come here if we stay over an hour), but I do make the annoying trek just for Salt & Straw ice cream. I love ice cream, and this is some of my favorite in the world, hands down. First off, it's expensive. Like crazily so. But I think the quality is well worth it! And splurge for that waffle cone, especially if you hit them up when they're making them fresh. It'll change your life. The flavors here change and rotate often, so you never know what you're going to find. This adds to the excitement for me, although I always seem to gravitate towards the same two flavors: Chocolate Gooey Brownie and Salted Malted Cookie Dough. Be sure to check out their "last chance" flavors as well as any specials of the month. They'll let you sample as much as you desire, which can totally get out of hand since everything sounds so appealing. No matter when you go, even in the dead of winter, there's going to be a line. It moves reasonably fast, so be patient. I promise it's worth the wait (and the cost). The ice cream is so rich and thick and creamy, and I have never had a flavor I didn't like. Even the more exotics like the blue cheese with pear or rosemary olive oil have their quirky appeal. I would say most folks opt for more mainstream flavors, but make sure you at least try one of the oddball offerings. The last time I was here, it was quite chilly outside, but we found a spot to sit outside next to a firepit. I loved eating ice cream next to a fireplace: sounds about right to any real ice cream lover, LOL. Part of the struggle and hassle of getting to Salt & Straw is its location. It's tucked away in the Uncommons, which makes it a real pain in the behind to find. Once you run the gauntlet and get there, your tummy and taste buds will be in frozen, creamy heaven! Just go. This was my first visit and I'll definitely be back! They have delicious ice cream flavors and constantly change flavors. I love that they always have vegan options and always offer free samples! It's a little pricey, but high quality and you can order ahead as well as take pints home. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Parking is tough and it's hard to find, but worth the visit! read more
Salt & Straw has me in a chokehold! The new Hazelnut Cookies & Cream (Dairy-Free Decadence) (V) just sealed the deal. Coconut cream spiked with a splash of bourbon vanilla, crushed sandwich cookies and a ripple of hazelnut butter fudge - Simply ice cream heaven! This scoop is definitely my new favorite! Salt & Straw keeps me coming back because they somehow manage to make ice cream feel both familiar and creative. * This spot has fun energy, sweet smells, and the friendliest scoop squad in town. *Always serving great samples & service. read more

Tucked inside the UnCommons neighborhood is an ice cream shop known for its unique and rotating flavors. From what I could tell, the menu changes monthly, so there's always something new to try. Parking can be a bit tricky since the layout of the luxury apartment complex is confusing, but once you're there, it's easy to walk around and explore. The shop itself is grab-and-go, with most of the seating outside, and restrooms are available in the shopping complex nearby. Service was neutral--not unfriendly, but not especially warm either. The ice cream, though, was very good. I recommend the honey lavender, which pairs nicely with toppings or other ice cream flavors. Overall, worth checking out if you're in the area and craving something sweet! read more

This was my first time at Salt & Straw and it did not disappoint! Tristan helped us and he was AWESOME -- super patient, friendly, and explained all the flavors while letting us try as many as we wanted. I also loved that they give you reusable metal tasting spoons instead of tossing plastic ones -- such a thoughtful detail. The flavors are really unique, the vibe inside is cool, and they even sell merch. There isn't much indoor seating besides a standing counter, but there's plenty of seating options in the outdoor space in the courtyard. The scoops are generous (a single scoop is way bigger than most places) and of course, the ice cream was great! read more

I have been a fan of Salt & Straw since my first experience at the Abbot Kinney location in 2016, and over the years, I made a point of visiting scoop shops while traveling. Of course, I was thrilled when they announced their Las Vegas debut, and my first visit to the UnCommons location was just a week after they opened in June 2023. We have made more than twenty visits since its opening, usually to sample the characteristically unique flavors of their Monthly Menu Series, enjoy a scoop or two with their equally amazing freshly-made waffle cones or bowls, or pick up a few pints. Every month, I look forward to the new and returning flavors, diving enthusiastically into the story and details behind each concoction. I really appreciate the creativity! While stellar customer service is the standard at Salt & Straw, one team member in particular, Marissa, has been truly exceptional. She is an incredibly lovely person whose warmth, kindness, and professionalism has created a lasting impression. Earlier this year, on a particularly difficult day, my husband and I came in for a much-needed respite at our favorite ice cream shop, and we had the most wonderful experience with Marissa. That short, yet meaningful connection brightened our day immensely and really solidified our love of Salt & Straw. After that meeting, she promptly remembered and acknowledged us during our next visit, and every visit after that, and makes us feel so welcome. We're always excited to see her! Always a great experience! The service is super friendly, you can try all the samples you like without them seeming annoyed. The ice cream is always super high quality, rich, and flavorful. Their innovative and unique flavors has me coming back to try the new menu! The shop is clean and airy although there aren't that many spots to eat the ice cream in-store, just some standing areas of the line isn't too long and in the way. However there are plenty of spots to sit outside. It would be nice to have some indoor seating especially during the summer. You get a few hours free parking in the UnCommons as of June 2025. read more
The intoxicating scent of fresh waffle cones being made drew me in, like a cartoon character when they are swept off their feet and float to where the scent is. Upon entering we were given a warm welcome and offers to try the unique ice cream flavors. I was delighted by the little metal spoons that the samples were given on, and the little slot to place them in once we were done sampling. Super cute and sustainable! I was a bit adventurous and initially tried a limited edition berry and spicy pepper flavor despite the attendant warning me of the kick, and opted for a traditional honey lavender scoop in a waffle cone. My husband got his usual mint chip ice cream scoops and both of our choices were solid. We enjoyed our waffle cones at a bench in the quad and enjoyed people watching. Salt and Straw is my go to ice cream spot since it is close to home and always hits the spot. I like checking in every so often to see what new seasonal flavors they are offering, but I also appreciate that their classic flavors are always available. This time I went with the Sea Salt with Caramel Ribbons, one of my favorites, and it was just as good as always. The staff is friendly, helpful, and patient when we have questions or want to sample flavors. The inside is clean and open, and while there is no indoor seating in the shop, the outdoor seating area is a nice place to sit and enjoy your ice cream. read more
Specialty ice cream with interesting flavor combinations and a wide variety of choices that's intriguing and actually good. The ice cream bases itself is good, not too sweet and not too cream where it's almost unpleasantly elastic; the texture is just right. The variety of the choices, which I understand often changes, really entices you to try new flavors that may surprise you works so well. I appreciate the staff being very patient while trying to decide and sampling the flavors. It's an ice cream parlor so really the vibes is pretty casual, but The Uncommons have so much spots to chill and hang out in, even in the winter, that it's still nice to have ice cream. The Tacolate is pretty good but the flavor add ins didn't add much. read more
