The place was clean, the staff was very nice. But the food was just ok. We had a burger with fries, fried grouper tacos with fries and fried grouper sticks with fries and one soda. No one was filled with delight nor disappointment . $65 for 3 of us plus $13 tip. $78! We most likely would not return. read more

I actually really like salt life, they have good food and a nice covered patio which is also dog friendly. The servers are always very nice. My staples are the oysters both raw and Parmesan, the oyster shooter never disappoints. Today we visited after volunteering at the beach clean up, had an amazing lunch. Started with a cold pint of beer and an oyster shooter, followed by delicious Mahi and shrimp and chorizo tacos. We also had the oysters Parmesan and the grilled portobello sandwich. What a cool store! I ventured in here one day after dining at the restaurant. We wanted to see what all they had. They store Is conveniently located just a few blocks down from the restaurant in Jacksonville Beach. They have a private parking lot which is nice since it can get very busy, especially on the weekends. The store feels open and welcoming inside. It is well organized based on the kind of product you are looking for and they have a large selection of items. I found a few things that particularly jumped out to me. The service was great, the lady at the counter offered her help but also let us just browse. This is a great store I would like to go to again. I do wish they offered some plus size items, but I know that can be hard to find especially at the beach. read more

In A Nutshell: -If you're from JAX, then you probably have Salt Life in your DNA. -For those of us who aren't born/raised there... -Salt Life is a local clothing company that sells pretty decent threads. -The cotton is very soft and the shirt/shorts that I bought fit snug. -The prices aren't low or high. -They had a sale over 4th of July so I scored a decent discount on top of the military discount they also offer (just show your ID). Overall, I'd definitely buy another shirt or two from them. They have great designs! read more

I went it to get a new Salt Life cap. Unfortunately there were limited styles available in stock. Staff were not very helpful and gave me the impression they were just passing the time. All in all I was disappointed with my experience in this store and left without buying anything. Ended up buying a Salt Life cap not far away and paying almost $10 more than I would have here. read more

Nice selection of JAX beachwear. Lots of men's clothing, less women's clothing. Women's clothing only in sizes for small to small/medium women. More like women's "juniors" clothing. Shop was empty on a dreary day. read more

I don't like to give two stars to ANYTHING. Most of the time, I'd say every restaurant deserves 3 stars, just because I know personally how difficult it is to work in one... so it is with a heavy heart I give this place two stars! Firstly, the atmosphere. If you're not local, I'm going to level with you: the best seafood in the world is often served in establishments with greasy walls and cranky wait staff. I don't make the rules. It's just the truth. With that said, I was immediately apprehensive when I arrived strictly because of how forced the decor is. Things are 'designer', well made, and the overall vibe of the place is kind of strange... this "shack" is the nicest one i've ever seen, and it feels like the gentrification of the beach of my childhood. Anyways. Servers are wearing tank tops and mini skirts (tropical hooters?) and after a bit of a banter with a hostess we are seated. For about 15 minutes we peruse the menu, without seeing our waitress. 20 minutes go by before we see her. The entirety of our table orders. Despite the lack of crowd it takes another 10 for our drinks. We are waiting for 30 minutes. There's probably 3 groups in the place. After a word to a nearby waitress the food comes out. In honestly, the fish was passable. My tacos were mediocre and the turkey burger ordered by another member of our group came out cold. The best part of the meal was the guacamole served with our chips. If the best part of the meal was the GUAC at a seafood restaurant, you're doing something wrong! The "salt shack" is passable if you're looking to show off the beach to some northerners who think that an aquarium in the lobby is a cue for a great meal. Go to one of the seafood joints nearby and walk away satisfied. However... at least you can buy a t-shirt on your way out of the place? read more
