I review restaurants with my OAT method: Overall Experience - We were greeted with warm smiles from the baristas who offered great recommendations on what to order. Appearance - The vibe of this coffee shop was fun with local artist featured around the walls and beachy parifinalia scattered throughout. Taste - The bagels were amazing! We ordered the sausage, egg, and cheese on a cheddar bagel and a smoked salmon cream cheese on a jalepeño cheddar bagel. The bagel's were fresh and soft. They must have been baked in house! The salmon cream cheese was packed full of salmon. The drinks were also exceptional. The vanilla chai latte was flavorful, but not too sweet. It was easy to tell that the chai was homemade. The Mayan mocha was possibly one of the best specialty coffees I have ever had. The chocolate was accented with a bit of cinnamon which rounded out the South American flavors of the drink. It was a warm day so I went for an iced coffee, however I think it could have been even better warm. read more

Absolutely adore this coffee spot in the middle of the Outlets! Every time we enter it's packed but it is always worth the line and wait. They have such a large selection of coffee/hot drinks; food options; and fridges with great items. The baristas are extremely patient and ready to answer questions about the menu. The shop of boutique items always has the cutest things of great quality. In the back they also have discounted items! The decor and seating is perfect to stay awhile and relax. We of course love that well behaved Daisy can go in, get some attention and chill at our side. read more

We ordered the bacon breakfast burrito, which was hot, hearty, and super satisfying, and the quiche Lorraine, which was one of the best I've ever had. The food and drinks are great. More gluten free options would be a plus. They have 1 option, GF quiche. To be able to have a GF breakfast burrito and bagels would take this place over the top. I was at a local farmers market this past weekend and for the first time there was a GF bakery tent and the line was incredulously long. There's a need in this town for more GF options involving grains, breads, and wraps. The one issue I have with Salt is they take a bit too long to get the food out to people. More importantly, it would be great to order 1 item - a smoothie where I wouldn't have to wait 15 min to get it in my hands. Will I return, yes, until the waiting becomes more daunting than the good it provides. read more

We popped in her for coffee, and wine for mom. The art and merchandise was very nice. There was a lot to look at, which was great because it was busy. The staff was efficient so the line moved quickly. The playlist was very pleasant, noticeably so. The earl grey foam on the chai latte was brilliant, I'll be working on my own version of that at home. The salted caramel latte was also very tasty, not overly sweet. Salt is a cute little place in the outlet mall in Lincoln City. They have fun crafty things to buy, cool art for sale, and yummy food and espresso/tea drinks. They have alcohol too. At 10:30am on Sunday it was busy! The barista was friendly. I ordered a bacon breakfast burrito and a Salt Caramel latte, iced. They don't carry soy milk anymore, sigh. The music was a little loud and so was the crowd. My order was ready pretty quickly despite the long line. I liked the burrito, it was nicely crispy on the outside and full of cheese, bacon,fluffy egg, and taters. The sauces were tasty. My latte was nice even if regular milk hurts me. Waited in line for 30 mins for coffee. Not by choice, but by obligation as a gift to someone else for their birthday. As I stood there in line I noticed a couple things. 1-Some of the staff did not seem to know the meaning of haste, not caring one bit about people's time. I saw a few of the employees just standing around talking to overwhelmed, hard working ladies whipping up coffee as fast as they could. 2- The food needs a way to get out faster. A 30 minute wait for a basic sandwich seems overkill for a coffee shop. 3- The front register needs to move people along faster. I saw 2 customers that were telling their life story to the front register, meanwhile a line is our the door. I saw a few customers leave in frustration. It's probably the cutest and best place to get coffee in Lincoln City. It's in the middle of the outlet shops and worth a stop. The inside is full of interesting decor - they have tons of art and items to shop, or browse - many salt themed. There are different seating areas and good vibes from staff. I was told they bake their goods in house. We had the breakfast burrito and it was pretty solid! The green salsa is the way to go, the red one tastes like Pace Picante - unless you like that. Our lattes were superb and I would say the prices are pretty normal. If you want good coffee, this could be your spot. read more

Gluten free review: Stopped by this little gem to get a coffee and was so excited to see they had a few gluten free options! I was excited. I got the sugar free late with cbd oil. To eat I got the breakfast burrito. I was so excited to see they had options for us! How exciting. The burrito was so delicious. I give it a five out of five for sure! It's so cute inside. They have a little shop, some tables you can sit at or some cozy couches by the fireplace. When I went they were so busy! It took a little to receive our meals but it was so cozy and I was sipping my drink that I didn't even notice. They did a good job for how busy it was. First you should know, it's located in the outlet mall, so when it's busy, parking is probably a nightmare. BUT, I absolutely adore this spot! The employees are so sweet, it's cozy and modern inside, and feels like a hip Portland coffee shop at the coast. They serve Stumptown coffee and they offer a large menu that includes both gluten free bread and gluten free tortillas! I've never seen another spot offer GF tortillas (even in Portland), so it felt like a treat to be able to get a breakfast burrito. They also serve alcohol, if you're into that kinda thing or it's just that kind of day. And if you're looking for a not cheesy souvenir, they have a little shop with things like sweatshirts, bags, water bottles, travel cups, candles, face care, etc. Definitely one of my favorite spots that everyone should know about! read more

I've wanted to try Salt, but since the online times of operation always stated 9am I've never been able to...I'm in need of morning sustenance earlier than 9am. But, having walked in for an afternoon coffee while at the mall I decided to ask about that issue, and I'm glad, because turns out in the summer they open at 8. So the next morning I finally got to try a breakfast burrito and sandwich. The sandwich was good, cooked well, with loads of crispy bacon. But the burrito was the clear winner. Fabulous flavor, a favorite of both my husband and myself. Coffees were great as well, can't go wrong with Stumptown. The shop is fun, with great decor and a handful of tables. Spacious and not overly crowded, which is great in my opinion. Service was friendly too. Salt is a great addition to the outlet mall in Lincoln City. It is nice to have a place to warm up in the rainy winters during the holiday shopping period. My mom had a cappuccino that she really enjoyed. I only had a tea (a green tea from Steve Smith), so can't say much about the coffee. They are brewing stumptown, who tend to roast a bit darker than I like, but that definitely puts them a step above most places in Lincoln City, Depoe Bay, or Newport. I will definitely return to try their coffee and update my review after that. There was plenty of seating, arranged in little pockets so that it felt semi-private. The staff was very friendly -- we were there around closing time and they didn't kick us (or the other few customers) out as they were beginning to clean up and close down. read more

Not sweet at all. For food, we tried the Bagel Sandwich with Sausage and the Benedict Sandwich. Both were very tasty. I love how much asparagus they give you with the Benedict sandwich. We stopped by Salt on a chilly Saturday around 11am after walking the beach. It is located in the outlets, so not the quickest café to get to, but we found parking sort of behind the shops and walked. I could certainly see it being a bit of a pain to get to in tourist season as you may have to park far, so it might not be worth the effort if you were coming only for Salt. Otherwise, if you're doing some shopping, I think it's a great spot to stop for a snack or drink. We ordered a latte and hot chocolate, plus a breakfast sandwich each. Drinks were ready within 5 minutes. I am picky about hot chocolate, and this was definitely not just a powder mix, so pleased with that. My husband said his latte was extra foamy (and exclaimed that's a good thing!). While we waited, we wandered the shop. There were clothes, accessories, some home goods, lots of gift-y items, plus wine and snacks. It is definitely cute, and while not the cheapest, there were some unique finds that could be tempting. After about ten minutes we'd seen it all and then we were just standing there. They have a bit of seating, but not nearly enough for all the people there as it was more customers utilizing them as a café than a shop. It ended up taking about 25 minutes. To be fair, they had warned us of a 20 or so minute wait, but it sure felt long for two sandwiches. I got the ham and brie bagel sandwich, and the result was not as yummy as the description. It was too much mustard and just a chunk of hard brie (where I'd expected it to be warmed and more melty), and the bagel itself was just okay...not bad, but just not all that great, especially after a long wait. I don't recall what my husband got, only that we both felt pretty meh. In the future, I would call ahead to order or if I just wanted to walk in, get a drink and a ready to go pastry. They do have some cute items if you are looking for a gift. I'd go elsewhere for food, though. read more
