Nelscott Cafe, Breakfast House or whatever they call themselves, may be going through an identity crisis. We used to LOVE this place because of its funky beach atmosphere and generous food portions. We were in Lincoln City on February 12, 2026 and made a B-line to Nelscott to have breakfast. 1) The message at the door (see photo below) was a religious message which assumes all people believe in God. We're not believers of this religion and found it very off-putting. We went in anyway since the vibe and service is usually great, and the food is good. 2) Boy, were we disappointed in the vibe! The place was completely empty! Granted, this was a Thursday morning, but usually there's a line to get in even as the doors open in the morning. Then, the vibe was a loud religious Spanish radio station (no, I'm not racist and have many friends from all walks of life). It was loud, serious, religious AND a radio station. Not the easy-going vibe we were hoping for while on vacation to relax. I did mention our concern about the music when we checked out and I couldn't get out of there fast enough. 3) I fear this place is going through an identity crises after a death in the family a few years ago. I'm glad they have recent glowing reviews, but I believe businesses that cater to the public should keep their religious beliefs to themselves.

Came in here based off the Yelp reviews, it was a mixed vibe that's for sure. The prices are above average. The half order of biscuits and gravy was good, except the gravy was lukewarm, and that it tasted really basic like it came from just sitting in a big pot. The cheddar cheese put on top was different, not bad but just different. My boyfriend got the french toast with oats and that was the best french toast I have ever had. Both him and I were amazed at how good that was. Highly recommend getting that! Server was nice, friendly employees.

OMG THE FOOD IS JUST AMAZING!!! I ordered the Texas French Toast and it was just spectacular. The orange juice is fresh! We came Sunday morning which was packed but we got in pretty quickly, about 20 minutes. While we waited we shopped around at the cute shops near the restaurant. The whole vibe of the place is very warm and cute. I 100% recommend this place!

This place had a cute little cottage feel, and we were seated in the kids room upstairs, which had a bunch of art and messages from best customers, which was pretty cool. We got the eggs Benedict, a stack of pancakes some beignets and everything was pretty good. This was the first time I didn't have to ask for extra sauce on the eggs Benedict. It was smothered, which was awesome. We opt for the three stack of pancakes, which proved to be a little too much. Two stacks would be good for the future. The beignets were covered in a delicious passion fruit sauce and light and fluffy. The hot chocolate had a taste like it was just some powder added to water but still good.

My sister and her husband have raved about this place for years and we finally got to see why. "Auntie" provided the best service and made us feel right at home. We had the cinnamon roll and beignets which are both a must. I follow that with the crab benny which I could eat everyday. I'll definitely come back any time we visit the coast.

Interior-we were seated under the stairs. Kitchen is at the window you can see.

The place is cosy in that it is two stories with limited room downstairs but more seating upstairs. We were greeted and seated right away though had expected a wait. Service was good throughout. They had some specials and I chose the fresh berry crepes. The crepes were nice and warm but the berries were cold and in a sauce-appeared to have been frozen. The taste was good but would have liked the berries to be warm like the crepes. That wouldn't have deterred me from going back. My family enjoyed their food.

What a great find! The eggs were perfectly poached, and we were seated quickly. The service was warm, the atmosphere casual, and everything was clean and organized. Definitely one of my favorite breakfast spots.

Always a must-go: Darling vibe, hard-working, kind staff, & quick, delicious food. Today, we shared the breakfast burrito and cinnamon roll (& left with plenty of leftovers). So yummy!

Great service. Great environment. Friendly. 3 of us got the crab Benedict. And my brother got the omelette with a biscuit.

1/2 a Monte Cristo and potatoes with syrup and lemon slice.

A cozy spot right off Highway 101. The menu was a bit limited but they do ha GF options. We got the Monte Cristo and house potatoes with coffee. Coffee comes in a very large cup and they are good about checking on you. The Monte Cristo was 3 thick slices of French toast bread topped with powdered sugar. One deck had white cheese and a chicken breast tender and the other deck had a thick slab of ham and yellow cheese. They did not use deli meat which was a huge plus. They served it with a small dipping cup of syrup and I have no idea how they heated this sandwich but it was burn your mouth lava hot in temperature. The potatoes were brown crispy cubes. Likely they deep fry them but they were crispy and good.

My husband and I decided to check out this place after reading the reviews. It's a small place with limited parking but apparently, quite popular. My husband ordered the chorizo omelette and I ordered the Texas French toast. He said his was good but not amazing. My French toast was quite tasty. The space is a little cramped but the service was good. Overall, a solid breakfast place.

Was staying in Lincoln City for the weekend and wanted a quaint, non-franchised breakfast stop. This one was nearby, and ended up being a winner! I got French toast and a side of bacon and both were fantastic. The bacon was done perfectly and the French toast was so rich it didn't even need syrup. The service was fairly standard; I got a table immediately and had minimal waiting time for my order to be taken and prepared. Noticed some recent negative reviews and, while I did not try the cinnamon rolls specifically, the rest of what I read just doesn't jive with my experience. I would eat here again, no hesitation.

As you drive up you cannot help to notice the red building with a classic Old Cafe sign off HWY 101. They have a unique story, the original Otis Cafe was located in the City of Otis in the 1920s, named after the Post masters nephew. They have ample parking in their own private lot, as you walk up to the building and the main entrance, they have outdoor seating. Key finding, depending the time you arrive you may be waiting a bit to get in, they seem to be very popular with good reason. Once inside you will notice a very open seating area, with various booths and table seating options. They make fresh bread, we could not resist we took home a loaf of homemade bread it was very tasty. The staff greet you as you walk in, it has a very friendly vibe, the staff cycle through the building repeatedly checking in with its customers throughout your visit. The food options are plentiful, also note their portions are huge. We finally decided on an Omelette with veggies and ham, with a side of bacon and German potatoes with wheat sourdough. We also ordered the French toast with Fruit, an egg, another huge portion of food ample for two or three. The food was served warm, to our options and extremely tasty. The bacon was huge, well cooked, the Omelette and potatoes were perfectly cooked, I really enjoyed the Omelette and bacon. We are still working through the French toast, we took 3/4 of it home with us. Some recommendations, review the menu, be ready to order they are fairly busy and turn tables quickly. This is a must try spot during your next visit to Lincoln City.

The food is good and very plentiful. Way too much if you are traveling and can't take half your meal home. So we enjoyed their food, but felt bad that we couldn't eat it all and it had to be wasted ( we were unable to take leftovers with us). The pancakes are enormous and tasty. Loved the chorizo scramble (they recommend the molasses bread but we weren't wild about it). The eggs Benedict ( southern style) had a large biscuit, sausage and egg. Heeping helping of hash browns. All good but could use more gravy as it got a bit dry. Would like the option of two over easy eggs which would bring a little more moisture to the dish. Overall we were happy with breakfast, but a bit too full.
