Best French Toast Ever!!!! I'm not a french toast person generally but was over the top for their Almond Cornflake French Toast. Try it alone, with syrup, and our favorite with a bit of blackberry jam! We also had the "House Favorite" two homemade biscuits smothered in homemade sausage gravy topped with chicken fried steak, bacon, cheddar cheese, green onions and tomatoes, plus 2 eggs . . . fabulous as well! Wonderful service. Excellent and friendly staff with high attention to details, water and coffee refills without any asks. Our wait on a Saturday for two was about 30 minutes. They have beepers so you can explore some fun costal shops while you wait as opposed to standing in line. It was raining the morning we visited and we stayed dry and loved ducking in and out of the Rock Shop, Coffe Shop, Curio, and Christmas Store while we waited to get in. I'm a sinner, and when I saw the religious quote on the board outside the shop, I was hesitant to enter, but by the time I left I was filled with the holy spirit. With each bite, I felt Jesus entering my body and soul. The Christian music was blaring throughout the restaurant, and I felt the spirit of the lord flowing in and around me. The food was delightful, definitely worthy of the Lord. However, the prices were not. Jesus fed the needy, I'm not sure the needy could eat here. I wish the eucharist tasted like the French toast I had. It'd probably make me go to church more. In all seriousness, the service was great. Food came out quick and was phenomenal. Had a great Sunday morning breakfast at Nelscott House. A group of 4 with a dog and we didn't have to wait long, they even have beepers to alert you when your table is ready. Scarce parking here, and although there is a nice patio area, staff seemed to forget us every time they went inside. Came in here based off the Yelp reviews, it was a mixed vibe that's for sure. The prices are above average. The half order of biscuits and gravy was good, except the gravy was lukewarm, and that it tasted really basic like it came from just sitting in a big pot. The cheddar cheese put on top was different, not bad but just different. My boyfriend got the french toast with oats and that was the best french toast I have ever had. This place had a cute little cottage feel, and we were seated in the kids room upstairs, which had a bunch of art and messages from best customers, which was pretty cool. We got the eggs Benedict, a stack of pancakes some beignets and everything was pretty good. This was the first time I didn't have to ask for extra sauce on the eggs Benedict. It was smothered, which was awesome. We opt for the three stack of pancakes, which proved to be a little too much. Two stacks would be good for the future. Nelscott Breakfast House is a cute, quaint little breakfast and brunch spot serving up all of the staples with no frills. it has a home-y feel, and you will feel like you're eating in someone's dining room. overall, this is a nice vibe, but it can get pretty loud without anything to control the noise. the service we received was mixed--several different folks looked after our table, and they ranged from non-verbal and no-eye-contact to warm and chatty. nonetheless, we always got what we needed, at least until it was time to get our check--no one brought the check, so we were left guessing about whether to wait for it or go to the register. the food was so-so. when i go to a place that relies on simple, staple breakfast foods, what i'm really looking for is a clean-ish presentation, minimal grease, and everything flavored and cooked optimally. i had the Nelscott breakfast, consisting of two eggs, two sausage patties, and potatoes. i don't normally spring for pancakes, but they didn't have waffles, so i took my chances on a pancake as well. i found the eggs to be overly greasy. the potatoes were OK, but they didn't have any salt, herbs, or spices to give them some flavor. they could have been enhanced so much with some salt, garlic, and an herb, like rosemary. the sausage patties were OK, but also more greasy than expected, even for sausage. the pancake was OK, but kind of plain tasting. i'm not sure if we'd return, but after many trips to the coast over the years, i'm glad we finally got to give this place a try. read more

Interesting experience. The staff definitely seemed hardworking but not very friendly. They serve water that has been soaked in lemons and I am unfortunately allergic to citrus- the lemons were not disclosed at any time until I asked for new water. After I mentioned my allergy, we were given plain water but never saw the server again. Another server delivered our food. Food was good. I had the almond crusted French toast and my husband had the breakfast special. Prices are alright, the restaurant itself is well maintained. We were not offered refills for water/soda/coffee at any time. Not sure if this was an off day or not, but we did not feel welcome. read more

My sister and her husband have raved about this place for years and we finally got to see why. "Auntie" provided the best service and made us feel right at home. The place is cosy in that it is two stories with limited room downstairs but more seating upstairs. We were greeted and seated right away though had expected a wait. Service was good throughout. They had some specials and I chose the fresh berry crepes. The crepes were nice and warm but the berries were cold and in a sauce-appeared to have been frozen. Nelscott Cafe, Breakfast House or whatever they call themselves, may be going through an identity crisis. We used to LOVE this place because of its funky beach atmosphere and generous food portions. We were in Lincoln City on February 12, 2026 and made a B-line to Nelscott to have breakfast. 1) The message at the door (see photo below) was a religious message which assumes all people believe in God. We're not believers of this religion and found it very off-putting. We went in anyway since the vibe and service is usually great, and the food is good. 2) Boy, were we disappointed in the vibe! The place was completely empty! Granted, this was a Thursday morning, but usually there's a line to get in even as the doors open in the morning. Then, the vibe was a loud religious Spanish radio station (no, I'm not racist and have many friends from all walks of life). It was loud, serious, religious AND a radio station. Not the easy-going vibe we were hoping for while on vacation to relax. I did mention our concern about the music when we checked out and I couldn't get out of there fast enough. 3) I fear this place is going through an identity crises after a death in the family a few years ago. I'm glad they have recent glowing reviews, but I believe businesses that cater to the public should keep their religious beliefs to themselves. read more

A cozy spot right off Highway 101. The menu was a bit limited but they do ha GF options. We got the Monte Cristo and house potatoes with coffee. Coffee comes in a very large cup and they are good about checking on you. The Monte Cristo was 3 thick slices of French toast bread topped with powdered sugar. One deck had white cheese and a chicken breast tender and the other deck had a thick slab of ham and yellow cheese. They did not use deli meat which was a huge plus. They served it with a small dipping cup of syrup and I have no idea how they heated this sandwich but it was burn your mouth lava hot in temperature. The potatoes were brown crispy cubes. We ended up getting four cinnamon rolls to go, and we were all disappointed. While they were very large, the actual rolls were stale and hard - seemingly made days ago. The icing looked great, but tasted more like watered down, vanilla yogurt. It wasn't very sweet. I shared it with someone and we got tired of it about halfway through. Was staying in Lincoln City for the weekend and wanted a quaint, non-franchised breakfast stop. This one was nearby, and ended up being a winner! I got French toast and a side of bacon and both were fantastic. The bacon was done perfectly and the French toast was so rich it didn't even need syrup. The service was fairly standard; I got a table immediately and had minimal waiting time for my order to be taken and prepared. Noticed some recent negative reviews and, while I did not try the cinnamon rolls specifically, the rest of what I read just doesn't jive with my experience. Well, after all of the great reviews, we settled on Nelscott. The food sounded good and the photos made it look good too. We left very confused to be honest. It wasn't very good at all actually. The front of the restaurant had "gods" special on a chalk board, and when we walked in it smelled of cleaning products. There was music playing pretty loud that was very clearly Jesus related. To each is own, but that's not my preference at breakfast. The service was very friendly. We were sat upstairs by ourselves. Coffee was fine. I liked that they had flavored Creamer. The food...we ordered the cinnamon roll a burger, and a Monte cristo. The roll itself was dry, and hot in the center and cool around the sides. The icing was actually really yummy. Tasted like they use yogurt instead of cream cheese. Would have been really good if the roll was fresh. The burger meat was chewy, and had an off taste sadly. We felt like it was possible cheap frozen beef. Not quality. The fries are battered and were really good and crispy. The Monte cristo came with home fries. They were leaching oil. And were burned. Completely inedible. The sandwich was not a Monte cristo to my likings. The French toast was fine. But the chicken patty was over cooked and the ham steak was soooo thick that it was just a salt bomb. There was no jam. Just syrup. All in all, I really want to give it two stars. But they were friendly. I think I would just stick with pancakes and French toast next time though. read more
