We got both the sweet sauce and the hot sauce to try. The portions are huge and if you leave hungry it's your own fault. We both like the sauces mixed together. The pork was so good though you don't even need the sauce! Juicy and tender with loads of flavor all on its own. We boxed up what we couldn't finish because we had to save room for dessert. We split a piece of Lemon Blueberry cake. Lemon flavor came through every bite. Not overly sweet. Blueberry topping was like a blueberry pie filling. It was okay but the cake part was really good.

Don Señor was large, making it very easy to socially distance while dining, whether you opt to eat inside or out. We opted for outside on the patio, because the weather was great when we visited. Our service was quick and friendly, and the food was served hot and fresh. The menu consists of the typical Mexican-style dishes you would expect from a casual spot like this one. Our server ensured that we always had everything we needed, including consistent water refills, which I always appreciate. I also very much enjoyed the fact that they offer their lunch menu on Saturday, as well as through the week. I often opt for lunch servings, as they are smaller and more managable for a lunch meal. If you're in the area and looking to check out a great spot for lunch, Don Señor is definitely a good bet!

I hope they take this as an opportunity to improve. I recently tried the new poke bowl on the menu. I was VERY excited when I saw a sign that they offer poke bowls, but a bit disappointed when they did not have all the standard poke bowl toppings. No seaweed salad, pickled carrots, etc. The poke bowl was $15 - and while the flavor was good it lacked the full experience and was way too small for the price. The poke bowl place in Lexington serves a large size for only $13 and it's at least double this size, maybe triple the size. I desperately want Koi Express to offer the same style bowl as Miyako for a reasonable price. I would pay $15 happily if it was enough to fill me up and had all the topping choices. So please keep serving poke bowls - just make them a bit bigger and provide the toppings. I can't justify paying $15 for the version that is currently offered. You also need a different style bowl to serve these in - not practical for mixing. I'll be trying the ramen soon.

The dining area consists of various sitting arrangements such as sofas and swinging chairs which were tastefully arranged throughout. The charcuterie board was beautifully designed, although I would have liked to have seen a bit more choices in meat. My son's only disappointment was that all the boards that were shown online had honey and a little bee and ours didn't. It seemed like that was a trademark that they used on their boards but was sadly missing from ours. The ones online seemed to be done a bit more elaborately than what we had. Other than that, it was a nice experience and I believe we will definitely go back when we are in the area.
