When I went in for a consult, I was unfortunately not a good candidate for LASIK. Dr. Feinerman suggested another procedure called EVO ICL (Implantable Collamer Lens) that I was a good fit for. Despite the higher cost compared to LASIK, I was totally on board. I scheduled my surgery appointment afterwards and I was given instructions on how to prepare for the procedure (I had to put eye drops in beforehand). The surgery center Dr. Feinerman used was in Tustin (Barranca Surgery Center). I had a very early appointment and I didn't have to wait too long. The procedure took what felt like 10 minutes, but could have been way longer (the anesthesia worked like a charm!). I had my sister drive me home, there is no way you should try to drive yourself home after getting this done!! Immediately after the surgery, my vision had a noticeable improvement, with sensitivity to light. Over the next 3 months, my vision stabilized and I don't have dry eyes as often anymore. I…read morechose this place based on positive reviews here on yelp and responsiveness during my initial inquiries. First, I scheduled a virtual consult on a Friday which took about 15minutes. The staff was able to answer majority of my questions. After which, I went on a Tuesday to have the in-person check up and scans done. I went to determine if I was a candidate for PRK (4-day recovery) or LASIK (1-day recovery). Shelly was the one who assisted me. Then my surgery was scheduled that Friday. I arrived at 12:30pm as schedule. The scans were redone for accuracy. The LASIK procedure was done at around 2pm and lasted for approximately 15mins. They give you valium 30minutes before and Xanax after to help you sleep. The process I would say is 5/10 in terms of pain. There's a pressure in your eye then the laser. After the procedure, there's a lot of burning's sensation and it's difficult to open your eyes. That's why they recommend to sleep for at least 6 hours to give your eyes a rest and recover. They give you eye shields and glasses and there will be eye medications that you need to instill for 7days and eye drops for 3 months. You need to come back the following day for a follow up. The following morning, I am able to see clearly but a little bit cloudy. Both doctors were nice and have a great bedside manner. Overall, I highly recommend this place for LASIK. They do have payment options, one of is care credit, 18months zero interest.

After my first consultation, I was confident that I was in good hands; and within two weeks I was in the operating room after being cleared by both the Ophthalmologist and Optometrist for PRK--which is a bit more safe but tedious in recovery compared to LASIK. The entire staff are very accommodating, meticulous and pleasant to talk to. I called in countless times before committing and always had my questions thoroughly answered by Marvin. Leslie from the front desk always makes me feel at home when I step into the institute. I never felt pressured by Dr. Pham or Dr. Huynh to proceed with treatment, even though they took an abundance of tests on my eyes and clearly explained the risks and rewards of PRK--all before I even paid! I have had astigmatism and near-sightedness since I was a kid and had always wanted to get lasik done but was afraid to make the move. It's a bit un-nerving looking for a doctor and I was so excited to find a friend who underwent the procedure and had such wonderful things to say about the doctor. Immediately after speaking with my friend, I booked a consultation with Dr. Feinerman. The consultation was free, but the staff did mention that for patients over 40 a consultation fee would apply due to natural vision loss with age and the doctor wanting to ensure all his patients had realistic expectations and would be happy with their results. The consultation itself was highly thorough - I was seen by 2 of his staff and finally Dr. Feinerman himself. It was great to be able to meet the surgeon who would be performing my surgery and he was so friendly and thorough with the examination. He noticed a very small hemorrhage on my eye and referred me over to a retina specialist close to my home to double check my eye before preceding with the surgery. He even personally called the retina center up himself in front of me and scheduled my appointment for the next morning! The surgery itself was a breeze although I was very nervous. They offer some medication to calm your nerves if you like and the surgery itself is about 3 minutes. Afterwards I went home and fell asleep. The next day I woke up and I had 20/20 vision! It was so surreal waking up to the world without needing any contacts or glasses. Dr. Feinerman even texted me the morning after which was on a Saturday to make sure I was doing fine. He provides you with his cellphone so you can text or call him with any concerns. I asked him a week later if it would be okay for me to wear mascara and he responded within 3 minutes! He is such an amazing doctor and I cannot recommend him enough. The surgery truly changed my life and I am so grateful to Dr. Feinerman and his amazing staff. I referred him to one of my friends who also was interested in lasik and my friend ended up having the procedure done by Dr. Feinerman as well. My friend is also ecstatic with his results!
