I didn't know about Southern Blues until my work ordered it for our holiday party. It was AMAZING…read more I then ordered it for my daughter's grad party. Everyone agreed their chicken is outstanding - people were actually talking about it. Native Baltimoreans were saying it was the best chicken they had had in B-more. We also got the mac and cheese, cornbread, and the giant fruit platter-all of which were great. The fruit platter was fresh, and the fruit was ripe. The gentleman who coordinated my order (Vernon?) was patient and made the order easy. He helped me figure out how much to order and how to get and use the Sternos. On the day of the party, the food was delivered right on time and tightly wrapped to prevent spills and keep the hot food hot. The young man who delivered the food was equally as helpful and friendly as Vernon. Highly recommend this Baltimore gem.

I wanted soul food and did a google search for my area and this popped up. I have heard some good things about this location, I looked at reviews prices etc and decided to give it a shot. No, I will not return this was it. Fried catfish not much flavor, greens tasty but there were more stems than anything. Potatoes salad had good flavor but there was something about how the potatoes tasted almost like just before they breakdown due to mayo. Before I purchased I asked about the consistency of the mac & cheese. The young lady let me taste it, I didn't like it so I opted for the potatoe salad. Finally listed inside on their menu board the catfish dinner was listed as $18.99/ $15.49 entree. I asked the young lady what was the difference and her explanation was $15.49 was meat only ( entree) and $18.99 was meat and 2 sides. All my life of dining out an entree includes 1 or 2 sides. I didnt say anything. The price isn't that much of a difference. I just want my people to do better since Black Business is always saying SUPPORT BLACK BUSINESS. I ate some but threw most away and that is not something that I normally do.

We hade the roughy stuffed with crabmeat. It was salty, but still delicious! Sides of baked potato and pickled beets! Our other entree was crab cakes. Lots of lump crab. Good flavor. We didn't have time for dessert. An assortment of beers on tap and by the bottle. Friendly and attentive service from Stephanie. Nice atmosphere. Traditional wood paneling. Ample street parking

Everyone got their drinks except for me - I had to ask for it (unsweet tea) multiple times before she finally brought it. We planted our order and the waitress brought out everyone's food except for mine; by the time I finally got my food everyone was almost done eating their meals. The crab cakes were good, but cold when it was finally brought out to me. We ordered an appetizer that was brought out after we were all done eating. The server kept saying she wasn't supposed to be working and made us feel like she didn't want to be there. The restaurant had a nice vibe, but the lack of service really was off-putting. I don't think I would go here again, plenty of other places that care about their costumers.

I order mini crab cakes and crab soup. Soup was very good and the right amount of Old Bay that left the spicy after taste. Crab canes were good but not great a little too much filler for my taste. Sitting in the bar area is good and bad as the service was uneven but overall we enjoyed the visit and will be back again.

You can tell it's a popular summer place. Looks like people can drive here by boat as well, since there is a dock. Also with a warning sign saying not to dive in for potential shock, yikes. It was a bit busy considering it was a Friday night, lots of waitstaff who were all very friendly. Our waitress was very attentive and made sure our drinks were filled up. The crushes were nice but did give me a hell of a headache. I ordered the shrimp tacos, they were really good (even having them as leftovers the next day). The fries were good as well. You do have to pay an extra $3 for fries. The burger was subpar. We have had better and have had worse. You had to pay extra for fries as well, the burgers come with chips. An FYI, they do charge 18% gratuity on your bill.
