Crystal Palace Resort

Crystal Palace Resort

Worst "resort" ever. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. If I could give negative…read morestars, I'd happily hand over a few. Let's start with the name: Crystal Palace Resort. Calling this place a resort is like calling a gas station hot dog a five-star dining experience. "Crystal Palace" sounds luxurious. What we got felt more like "Questionable Motel Behind the Highway Exit." Which I did expect going into this trip but my goodness, it was worse than I thought! The accommodations were underwhelming, but management somehow managed to be worse. I completely understand policies. What I don't understand is a complete inability to exercise common sense or basic customer service. We had family members actively sick with COVID and asked if we could either modify or cancel our reservation. Not for a refund, just move the reservation. Not for special treatment. Just a little flexibility. Their response? Essentially, "Sounds good. Bring the COVID." Apparently protecting your family, fellow guests, and their staff was less important than enforcing a reservation policy with all the warmth and compassion of a parking ticket. As a result, half of our family went and half stayed home sick. Nothing says "family vacation" quite like splitting up your family because management couldn't be bothered to show an ounce of understanding. The entire experience left such a bad taste in my mouth that I found myself wishing I had been the one stuck at home instead of spending time at this place. Save yourself the headache. Stay literally anywhere else. Sleep in your car. Pitch a tent in a parking lot. Befriend a raccoon and ask if it has a spare room. All would likely provide a more pleasant hospitality experience than Crystal Palace Resort. The only thing "resort" about this place is the amount of regret you'll have after booking it.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE!!! I booked a beach house with them over Labor Day weekend for…read more1 night only. It was a family gathering. They double booked us but luckily we checked in on time. The other people came 30 minutes later. Upon check in the beach house was dirty!!! No one came to clean it. Trash was everywhere and dirty towels on the floor. Jenny or her assistant told me someone in my party canceled. Nope! I was the only person who booked. Then after that I couldn't get a hold of anyone!!! Jenny or Jeanne whatever her name is, is very unprofessional. We had to buy toilet paper and detergent to wash sheets b/c of COVID-19. We don't want to sleep in dirty sheets. She asked me days later how I could make it up to her. I told her a partial refund would suffice. She agreed and has yet to make this wrong a right!!! All I get are EXCUSES!! This poor excuse for a human does not care about customers!!! STAY AWAY!!!!! One of her excuse is that she has too many properties to keep up with.

It was a trashy trailer - the TV didn't work - the refrigerator did't work - the air conditioner was so loud - I could go on and on. People would walk right in front and could see us through the see thru curtains so we had no privacy. The fire pit was filled with trash. My granddaughter and I couldn't sleep so we packed up and left. We could have stayed at a nice (safe) hotel for much cheaper. Don't waste your hard earned money on this place

Do not come here; the photos shown on their website are nothing like the dilapidated piece of crap…read moreit is today. Never came across a trash can our entire stay, later discovering they were all sitting by the dumpster at the end of the parking lot, which could explain all the garbage lying around. The volleyball pit was in a decayed state with not even a net to play with. The golf course didn't feature any proper golf equipment, just wooden sticks and no golf balls to be found. "Life size pool" is an alright idea I guess, except all the balls were flat and some had gaping holes in them. Weeds and grass are taking over the place, it seems like it hasn't been mowed or sprayed in months, or even years. The guy at the front was barely able to give our rooms to us as he was a couple beers deep and we observed him wandering around drinking and smoking throughout our stay. And this was the only visible employee I saw the entire time we were there. No wonder the resort is such a ramshackle. I didn't take any picture of the room because I thought it was alright. The Yelp description says they provide pans, but we didn't find anything like that in the kitchen. There's a fridge, microwave, sink, a tiny little coffee maker, and a little bit of soap. There were no cups, utensils, plates, or anything. You have to bring everything yourself, it's like camping. The bathroom had no towels or soap in it. To my surprise, though, they had toilet paper at least. The pool and water pad are pretty good, but since it's in the shade it was pretty cold. There is a little playground thing for kids which was really fun, but the rest of the place pretty much ruins everything. To bring all this to a conclusion, this place is ridiculously overpriced for what you get. Maybe it would have been worth it a couple years ago, but now the lack of maintenance has made the place unenjoyable.

Not only were we conveniently close to the cruise port, but we were also able to walk to The Strand and enjoy the local attractions. We picked up our wine for the cruise, treated ourselves to ice cream at La King's Confectionery, and enjoyed some live music. In the morning, we took a short stroll to Starbucks just a block away, enjoying coffee outside in the beautiful morning atmosphere. We then returned to the hotel for breakfast, which was a satisfying continental spread. They had bagels, muffins, cream cheeses, cereals, fresh fruit salad, and even some Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches you could heat up. It was a nice, plentiful breakfast with something for everyone. A special shoutout to Dee at the front desk who made our check-in smooth and welcoming. Watching the cruise ships sail in from our room was such a unique experience, and the overall comfort of the huge king bed and the spacious room really made our stay special. We're so glad we stayed here!

Vintage courtyard style motel with outdoor pool, but the rooms were modernized - the rooms smelled clean, bed sheets and covers stain-free; bathroom spotless; tile floors, hi def TV, ice cold a/c, safe locale, and an eclectic "jack of all trades" diner/ restaurant on premises: basic Chinese food, sushi, pizza and burgers. Since we were on a beach weekend getaway, we did not avail ourselves of the pool but it was sparkling clean. The wonderful family that owns the location is warm, friendly, and attentive. We are definitely going to visit again for our next beach vacay getaway - we are already planning it and so glad we found this place! 谢谢 Phil & Deborah Goldstein

Broken bikes, toys, appliances, dirty shoes and toys, grills, junk, trash stacked around everywhere. Laundry room is beyond filthy. There is no maid service, so don't expect fresh towels or emptied trash cans. I had to go ask for towels. The owner yelled at his son to get me towels. The son protested loudly. The owner yelled at me "follow him". The "restaurant" is a health hazard. Windows look like they were last cleaned in the 1900's. The room was tolerable but the bathroom was awful. Peeling paint in the bathtub/shower. Broken light fixtures. The floor was covered with sand and had obviously not been swept or mopped. You are better off sleeping in a tent on the beach. It's not worth $20 a night ... much less $130.
