The bar itself is cool and the outside patio looks very nice. BUT......the area where the band played Saturday night is cramped, which wouldn't have been bad if it wasn't super hot. Service was absolutely terrible my last visit here. If you want a cheap beer, then definitely your spot. But you get what you pay for. The female bartender with a buzzed Mohawk clearly hates her job or was having a bad day. I tried giving her the benefit of the doubt, but after having me yell my order across the bar because she was walking to the back room, ordering two beers seemed to be an inconvenience for her. When politely asked if she could swap one of the beers out because one tasted flat, she loudly says to the whole bar "well my regular over here has been drinking the same beer and he hasn't once said it's flat." When your entire job is about service, I wouldn't put someone with her nasty attitude behind a bar. Her face is just flat out annoyed every time you see her, and for someone who works off tips, it makes no sense! Would never recommend this place unless you're an underage frat kid needing a cheap beer. For such a prime location, do better with your service. read more

I came here for Barbie themed karaoke night. It was a blast and lots of people were dressed up. The female bartender working made really good drinks and she was really nice! My favorite drink of the night was the "blue peacock" which is one of their signature cocktails. It tasted like blueberries! read more

We went looking for a new place to try in Boerne and SD just looked like a cool spot to roll to. We walked in and found a couple of seats at the end of the bar and the bartender Bryan greeted us with a menu and asked if we knew what we wanted already or needed a minute. My husband go a double of Eagle Rare and I ordered the Chacmul. We watched him take the time to meticulously create the drink and it made us even more excited to try it. Smoked bourbon in the bottle, then smoked again upon serving it and he pulls the napkin away and you watch the smoke fade out of the glass. Definitely a great spin on the Old Fashion. Stopped by this place for a nightcap after arriving in town kind of late. The clientele was definitely not what we were expecting. If you ever miss frat parties or you're craving being around bros, this is the place. Service was pretty slow and for some reason my beer bottle felt slimy. After moving to Boerne we quickly figured out that places aren't opened past 10pm, so we were so happy to find Dobbs was open just a tad later. But aside from the hours of operation, we fell in love with this place because of the people! The bartenders are amazing, the patrons are great, the live music is always on point, and the selection of beers and liquor keep us interested! The patio is big and has a fun swing table as well. New addition to Boerne River Road. I found this new bar that opened three week's ago. They have live music every Friday and Saturday nights. They also have a very clean environment and friendly bar staff. The design resembles a speak easy from the prohibition times. This is reflected by the large metal rustic speak-Easy door at the front. Ask about the secret party room behind the book case. Bar also includes dart board and pool table. The bar stretches along three large rooms and has a swing set bar area for adults outside with a River View. If Swings aren't your thing, scoot over a couple of feet to the outside couch sitting area where there is a sand castle fire pit area and ample fire towers around the sitting areas. Check this place out before it gets too crowded. New cool bar!!!! read more

Went to Salgado Dobbs to have a good time with my honey, bar tender Brian I think is his name made it seem like it was an issue to make us drinks. Service was horrible and uninviting...sad too because I heard it was a nice place. The bar was nice and the music was great. Hopefully they will have a bartender who should actually be behind the bar. You need to have a bartender who is Personable and with good customer service. Not sure if that was off night or a regular experience. So many other places that can get a drink and a good atmosphere and good service. read more

This place is an absolute DUMP!!!!!! Bartender ignored us while we sat at a table so we went up to the bar to order drinks.....the bartender had two dogs lying on the floor behind the bar. My date told her that is probably against Food and Beverage Restaurant codes, and she just snarled that she didn't have anyone to keep her dogs that night. So she brings them to an INSIDE bar??????? Nasty smells inside the seating area and the furniture looks like it has been used at an establishment where you pay for sex. We left after bartender told us she was the only one working (on a Saturday night???) and it would be a while before she could mix our drinks. read more

I came home from college to find this AMAZING addition to Boerne! I had so much fun! The atmosphere was super cool and different from anything else in town. The set up is great and sections off the games (Pool, darts, shuffle board, etc) from the live music. The bar is easy to access and the outdoor seating is super cozy. The handcrafted cocktails vary and have something for everyone's taste. My personal favorite was the blue peacock. I'll definitely be returning to check out their happy hour. read more

My boyfriend and I went to this new bar with an open mind and excited to try a new place in Boerne. We are sadly disappointed in not only the lack of service (it took 15 minutes before we were even acknowledged) but the overpriced drinks that had as much flavor as tap water. My boyfriend ordered a margarita which came in an unsalted glass basically just sweet and sour mix. I ordered crown and water which actually came in a water glass. unbelievable! This is a place that Boerne has needed for a long time. My hat is off to the Mazal's for giving such a nice place to go to. The music is outstanding as well as the smiles and attention given by the bar staff. They remember what you drink as well as making sure that this is what you want this time.
