My mom & I stopped for brunch after a good experience for Mother's Day. They no longer take reservations online but you can join their waitlist by a quick few taps on their website. Just make sure you select the right location at Boerne as now they have a new location at the RIM & La Cantera. I ordered the cinnamon roll sandwich which came with a side of fruit. The sandwich consists of sausage patty (but no meat for me so I added extra cheese), cheese, & egg. The cinnamon roll on top was overly sweet for my liking. I asked for the egg to be poached, no complaints there. The cheese was just cheese, nothing bad or great there. The slice of the roll on the bottom looked & tasted undercooked, super chewy. The size & presentation only added to the lackluster dish. And the hashbrowns that I subbed the fruit for was surprisingly not tasty either. I can handle mushy consistency & not crispy enough for my liking but was not appealing in taste. Manager of Sunny's had texted me some time after dining on Mother's Day asking me how it went. I said my 2 critiques were my Sunnycito was rather lukewarm & had to ask for a cup of ice (I didn't mind too much as it gave me control how much ice goes in) but same thing happened this visit. I also noted the hollandaise sauce is not very flavorful & too thick. It tasted the same this visit. This would have been a 2 star experience but my Sunnycito coffee was good & the service was great. The portions were surprisingly generous for the price, I was expecting the small, overpriced servings you often get at trendy restaurants, but this place definitely delivers great value. Sunny's is a great place in Boerne to grab brunch. We came by on a Saturday around 12pm and we were imm seated. The inside was warm, but I would imagine that had more to do with the doors constantly opening between the inside dining and patio areas. They did have a couple wall units in place to help cool the temp. The service was good and our waiter was on top of things. You can tell that they are an efficient business. They had plenty of servers on staff and people were always bringing our delicious looking food from the kitchen. The waiter was able to bring me a menu that listed out the allergens, so that I could make my own decisions about which food to order. It was nice in that it listed out the allergens in each item and it provided modifications that could possibly be made to accommodate said allergen. In regards to the actual food, I LOVED my breakfast bagel. It was stuffed with delicious avocado, fresh arugula, bacon and ham. It was quite messy, but a delicious meal nonetheless. The first time I visited Sunny's was around Christmas. I am not fond of brunch food or even American food in general. Since we were in Boerne for a Christmas event we decided to check it out. They had one burger that they don't have on the menu anymore sad! We ordered that and a couple of other things from the appetizer menu. The appetizers were ok but that burger! My mother kept on talking about it until recently my friend and her mom came to visit and we went back to Boerne. Sadly the waitress had to tell the kitchen to make it as close as possible to the one we had the first time still it is absolutely delicious! We got a chicken dish too. Last time we ordered to-go, they forgot the syrup and capri sauce. We left a message to make sure they added it. Not only did they forget this time again. They didn't give sweet potato fries, just regular fries with my wife's capri order. My sausage was undercooked and pink on the inside. I'm not looking for parasites. This is just basic type of things you'd think that a restaurant would know. I didn't take a photo and I definitely should have. Please make sure they cook it properly. You don't want parasites related to pork. $15 for 4 tiny pancakes. You can't make this up. When you dine they make sure and give you good sized ones. It's not a deal breaker but since I'm here. I was in the Boerne area and Sunny's was highly recommended to me by my friends, So I brought my sister along to try it. They do have indoor and outdoor seating available, but we chose to sit inside due to the rainy weather. The decor inside is very cute, it gave brunch spot. I ordered a hot tiramisu latte to start and it was delightful! It didn't taste bitter, it wasn't overly milky, and it wasn't too sweet. I would drive all the way to Boerne just for that latte again. I ordered the El Jefe Chilaquiles and my sister ordered The Flirt, along with a side of breakfast potatoes and scrambled eggs. The chilaquiles were good, they gave a good amount of birria and avocado. They also offered the salsa on the side and it was a mild flavor, so I did ask for some hot sauce. Every place does their chilaquiles differently, my preference is to have it cooked in the salsa and to be on the spicier side. My sister's stack of red velvet pancakes (The Flirt) were nice and fluffy. They weren't too sweet and also a good portion size. My sister did wish it at least came with a side, thus why she ordered the extra sides of breakfast potatoes and eggs. We did have a great experience at Sunny's, the staff was kind and the food came out promptly. We are already planning on when to return again to try out the rest of the menu. read more

I visited this buzzing restaurant as my last stop in town before heading home. They play good music and have a nice selection of pretty much everything they are doing. We were seated right away and even got seated in a prime location on the patio which is a rarity for me. I ordered the El Jefe Chilaquiles even though I just had some earlier in the week at a restaurant in another part of Texas and their version was delicious. I was very happy with the amount of birria you receive in this dish as well. I also added a mango passion fruit mimosa which was pretty tasty. Then, we ordered a Provocado and a Tiramisu Latte. The goodness here kept coming as these were both delicious as well, especially the latte. There are tons of staff, at least in the mornings, so service is really good as they'll check in on your table numerous times. Apparently, I visited at just the right time (about 930am) because I was also able to snag a front parking spot on the curb by the entrance and when I was leaving there was a line of customers, about 20 people, waiting to get in. I couldn't find one thing wrong during my visit, even the restrooms were clean and being maintained. Visiting this restaurant didn't really feel like being in a small hill country town, but maybe that's why the customers love it so much. I will definitely return the next time I'm in Boerne and make it my first breakfast instead of my last before leaving town. My wife and I stopped here on our way to Fredericksburg. We joined the waitlist before arriving as this seems to be a very popular place and we were there during valentines. When we arrived there was a 45 minute wait; however, we were lucky to snag two seats at the bar which only has 4 seats. We ordered a glass of wine and my wife had a mimosa ! I heard about Sunny's for some time now and finally got to try during my recent visit to Boerne. We came on a Friday morning before 10 am and were able to get seated right away. This place gets pretty crowded on peak hours so plan accordingly(they offer a wait-list on OpenTable)! There is a small parking lot to the right of the building and extra parking in the back, but it can still fill up quickly. Service is very friendly and attentive. Food is delicious and "made-to-order". It appears the crepes are the stars of the menu, but we did not try them on this visit. Traditional breakfast and lunch options are also available and a safe bet. They offer many specialty coffees and cocktails on the menu. Sunny's definitely has the "small-town" Boerne vibes, but I heard it can get pretty lively on Saturday and Sunday brunches. Sunny's was an amazing brunch spot and absolutely worth the wait. You cant book reservations more than 2days out and no less than 3hrs prior. We waited about 1.5 hours, but they use a text system, so we were able to explore Boerne and made it back to the restaurant within 6 minutes of being notified...just make sure you actually reply back to their text saying you are coming. All of the food was incredible. Our table shared the truffle fries as an appetizer, and they were delicious. For mains: Le French Toast features thick cuts of toast and was very good, though I'd recommend ordering a side of bacon or eggs to make it more filling. MAIN CHICK savory crepe was a 10/10! Harvest bowl was also great, but make sure to tell your server how you like your eggs cooked. If you don't specify, they come out over-easy/sunny-side up. I personally prefer a well-fried egg. Decided to check this place out around 3pm, and it was super busy. They luckily have a waitlist option you can join, so if you're like us and driving in from San Antonio, this definitely helps with the wait time. Our wait was probably around an hour, and they give you a 10 minute grace period to get there if you want to get drinks or something at dodging duck or cibolo creek nearby while you wait. I ordered a nutty about you latte, which had some of the best presentation I've had for a latte. I couldn't decide what I wanted to eat so I went with the uncles sampler and added a side pancake. The potatoes here are so good, and the bacon was perfect. This meal was huge so I think you could share with someone, especially adding on a pancake. The eggs weren't my favorite, and the brioche toast had a seasoning on it that made it more savory- It wasn't my favorite. The aioli that served with it had more of a tartar sauce profile and I wasn't really sure what I was supposed to use it with my meal. The pancake was pretty standard. We had to ask for syrup, they said it was already syruped, but it wasn't enough for us. Inside interior and patio vibes were really nice and cute. Overall it was a really good, solid brunch option, and I love that it's actually all day. But it was kind of pricy for half of the food items to be "standard" for me. OK, just gonna be honest on this review. This was the third chance and their third time to either impress me or to be off my list of places to eat in Boerne where I live. Annina saved the day! Her recommendation was perfect. I got something that was sweet and savory called the sampler the pancake you could just eat by itself without butter or syrup. It was that good. My eggs I asked for eggs and cheese and it came perfect. They were nice and fluffy not dry. The hashbrowns of course I could live without, but they were good as well. And it came with sausage and ham. So I will give them another chance because the service was impeccable and the food was delicious this time and I never had asked for more water or more coffee. Parking is adequate, there's parking on the street and on the side of the business. Walking in, we were greeted immediately but the entry is on the smaller side. One oddity is there is a ramp leading to a door, but apparently that is not the entrance, at least according to the sign on the door. The entrance has stairs you need to ascend. So much for wheelchair and mobility issue friendly. We were seated quickly. Overall impressions are its clean, and normal restaurant chatter. There is seating inside, as well as outside, and apparently there is an upstairs seating area as well. Seating inside is close together, so this is not the place for conversation that you don't want others to hear. Waited quite a while without any acknowledgment of any kind, no drink order taken, nothing. After our waitress arrived, our drink orders were taken. At this point, since we still haven't received our drinks, I'm going to break from normal and mention the terrible service. I would normally wait until the end but this deserves mentioning. A different waitress approached and asked about our drinks. After another wait, our drinks arrived. Correction, the 2 coffees arrived. Not the Diet Pepsi that was ordered. On the plus side, my wife and daughter rated the coffees a 4.5 and 4, respectively. They did mention they were slightly less happy with the sizes. We finally placed our food order. Upon arrival, the food, fortunately, was excellent. My wife and daughter both rated the crepes 5 out of 5. I would rate the omelette 4.5-4.75. We are hoping the service was a fluke, because we had read good things about Sunny's, and their overall ratings are high. I can say this was one of the worst services I've experienced in quite some time, including fast food establishments. We will try again, and hopefully the service is better. So take from this what you will: Based on food and cost, I would rate Sunny's a 4.25. Factor in the service and I would rate it a 2.5, and wouldn't return. We came here on a Wednesday just before noon. It was a nice day and the patio was pretty crowded, but we were sat right away inside. This is the fourth restaurant we have been to in this space and they did a great job renovating it. There is roadside parking in front of the building and some parking along the side and in back I got the Honey, Please and my wife got the avocado toast. Both were good portions and came out quickly. The toilet roll holders are falling off the wall, paint stripped off doors, trash can lid was broken, floors are dirty and sticky. The menus were so worn I couldn't read half of it. Obviously they get a lot of traffic but it's time for some major housecleaning. Food is just okay unless you order a pastry or a cocktail. The toast was soggy, drenched in butter, and the eggs were overcooked. The crispy bacon and potatoes were really good. Diner grade drip coffee. Coming back to SA after a morning trip to the Hill Country, we decided to stop at Sunny's: All Day Brunch Bar for some brunch. Parking is available on the side streets or in the back of the restaurant. To avoid a wait, I would recommend making a reservation or get on their wait list. We did not have one and had about a 30 minute wait. Note: it seems they are updating their reservation/wait list system so it may not be available. Once seated, we reviewed the menu and I decide to order the Provocado and a single pancake. The Provacado is like an avocado toast but on a baguette, topped with a scrambled egg (my option), feta cheese and a really delightful chili oil that really set it all off. The buttermilk pancake was perfectly made with a sprinkling of powdered sugar on top. After some butter and syrup, down it went. Overall, this place has good food, a nice vibe and a friendly staff and I look forward to coming back and trying more of the menu. read more

We made reservations for Saturday. We did do the reservations five days ahead of time and the only spot we got for brunch was a 2 PM. We were seated immediately. They do ask you if you wanna sit outside or inside. The outside patio is very cute, but we were overheated from shopping in town. So, we sat inside. The inside has few tables with some including a booth style seats on one side. We ordered several plates to share. We started with a brie mine and the truffle fries. The brie mine were Piece of bread with brie cheese and a jam. It was actually pretty good. The truffle fries were just fries with truffle oil. They were a good size for sharing. For our main meals, we shared the Chilaquiles with birria, the Mediterranean plate, the harvest bowl, and the French toast. The Chilaquiles are toppe with eggs made your way and the birria, but I did get the birria on the side. They do not have the salsa like you typically would see on this type of plate, but it is on the side. I know Chilaquiles are the nachos of breakfast, but these just felt like plain nachos. The birria was a little spicy. The Mediterranean plate had hard boiled eggs, chicken, hummus, and pita bread. The hummus was really good. The harvest bowl was probably our favorite. It had a lot of great ingredients. The sweet potato was excellent. The French toast was a good meal. We all had a few drinks. I ended up ordering the mint condition. We all thought it had a weird taste to it. Don't know if it was the midori causing the medicine like taste. The jalapeño business was good, but serving size is pretty small. The spiritzuation was actually the best. Very refreshing for a summer day. Everyone did love their bloody Mary's too. Our waitress was super nice and she even informed us that since we were celebrating a birthday, we could get a free item. My only complaint is that there were a lot of flies inside of the restaurant. I understand that sometimes we can't avoid them, but they were dying by the windows, and there was a bunch of dead ones on the window sills. When we got seated, there was two dead ones on our bench seats.Maybe someone should come around and clean those periodically. It was a lovely day and the patio was so welcoming. It was a cool day so they had the heaters on overhead. It was perfect. Service was excellent and the food was delicious. My husband ordered eggs over medium with ham and hash brown with toasted brioche bread, as well as coffee and orange juice. I ordered pancakes with fruit as well has coffee. Everything came out quickly and cooked perfectly. Everything was delicious, especially the pancake. It was my best pancake that I have ever eaten. Super light, fluffy and tasty.
