Delicious Texas flavors and wonderful atmosphere..... I love the laid back vibe on Main Street

Beware The "Pastrami Reuben". I saw that hundreds of people on Yelp had reviewed Cibolo Creek Brewing and overall ratings were over 4 stars. I should have done a bit more reading and looking at the pictures. We stopped in on a mid-afternoon Sunday in early June. First impression upon entering through the front door was confusion. It was not really clear what the process was to order and get a seat. We approached the bar area and then noticed the "order here and seat yourself" signs. Several people came in behind us and so we felt a bit rushed to order. There were several craft beers on tap, but I was told I could not get a flight at the moment. I was able to get a taster, but with all the people behind me waiting to order, I didn't feel I had time to find out more about the beers before committing to a 16oz pour or lose my place in line. Shame on me for not doing my homework. We tried "The BEST Burger" and the "Pastrami Reuben", both with fries and two beers for close to $60 plus tip. The burger wasn't the best. It was sort of "meh". The homemade fries were good. The so-called Reuben was closer to a brisket sandwich than an actual Reuben. The meat was very mesquite-wood-smokey and then appeared to have been fried on a grill (definitely not steamed). It was very chewy despite being thinly sliced and had NONE of the flavor good pastrami has. The menu claims the meat is tri-tip, but tri-tip is known to be a tender cut. The meat on that sandwich was NOT tender. Cibolo Creek Brewery is in a great location (which sort of explains the prices) right next to the Cibolo Creek Trail and River Road Park and they do have a nice covered outdoor seating area with large family-style picnic tables. I may return to sample a few more of their beers and see if there is something I like better on the menu. read more

Ok is truly the best way to rate this spot. The food was just ok, and given the high pricing for a burger & fries I expected to rate the food better than "it was ok." Staff was by no means rude or dismissive, but they also didn't exceed customer service expectations. Pass by all the time with tons of ppl sitting in the patio. Got the sandwiches, tastes great! For the food, it's 5 Star. However, there is a lunch menu which we did come during lunch hour, not aware of it. As we completed ordering, the guy doesn't even tell us about the lunch menu and I noticed it as he was ringing us up. Don't prefer the hidden cost also, there's a 3% credit card charge. Okay! We happen to be in the area visiting a business down the street so we headed Cibolo Creek Brewing for lunch! What a fantastic meal and great service! I will admit we definitely did not look like locals, so we had to navigate the ordering process (not complicated we're just "new") but the staff was helpful, patient and kind! The star of the show for me, was definitely the hummus! I wish we could say we'll be back for weekend BBQ but we don't live in Texas however we will definitely recommend! read more

Stopped here for a lunch on my way out of town. Wish it wouldn't have been raining, so I could have enjoyed sitting outside. Got a chicken sandwich and a beer. Both were good. The sandwich was HUGE, I couldn't eat it all. I enjoyed the Oktoberfest beer I had, but I thought the beer options were somewhat limited. I attended this place for lunch as a recommendation. I was not greeted but did figure out the service style. Order in the mid area of the restaurant from a board on the wall, which was fine. I seated myself and waited for my food to come out, the wait was long, but OK fresh food right, this was steak night and they claimed to have wagyu beef for sale. Well i questioned that at $20. Finally, my meal arrived and the steak as cut into slices. I asked about that and was told that is how they are served. I sat for a while and noticed that no one else steak was cut up. The steak was over cooked and did not taste like wagyu beef. I tossed the steak, left very disappointed. I will not return and have told other of my experience, being new to Boerne recommendation are key to me. read more

Quaint place right next to the Cibolo creek on the main drag in Boerne. Outstanding food. Everything tastes scratch made. My SIL absolutely fell in love with the housemate charred salsa. We even asked if we could buy it jarred. It was that good. read more

The service fast though not the friendliest. However, the food was GREAT. Loved the fries. I had the Cuban sandwich which was amazing. Hard to find a good Cuban. My husband had the pastrami Ruben which was good, but the pastrami was very brisket in flavor- not a bad thing but also not the pastrami flavor he was looking for. He loved the beer he had as well- described it as "f**king awesome." Most likely, we would come here again. read more

Had not been to Boerne in a while and loved the fact that there are numerous local breweries in this area - we wanted both food and drink so this was where we ended up and it was a good pick! You order at the bar and seat yourself - though it was warm, they had a shaded back patio with lots of fans that kept it cool. I tried one of their IPAs, my husband had their sampler and both were excellent. They have pitchers of lemonade or local sodas for the kids. Service was fast and friendly and we received everything quickly! We tried 4 dishes including Cowboy candy which is cream cheese covered in candied jalapeño served with bread / really good, a pretzel, a cheese and meat board and their take on Aguachile / all really tasty! It was a great way to spend a lunch in Bourne and we will definitely return! read more

We went on a Thursday evening. It was busy, but there were plenty of tables/seating options. It was LOUD with very little noise dampening. It was very hard to hear each other speak across the table. Great atmosphere. Great food. Great beer. Great time. This is the sort of place where you order at the bar, pick your seat, and just have a good time with friends. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and a large assortment of items on the menu. Our party ordered the burger, the goat burger, the pork schnitzel, the beeria tacos and a Philly cheesesteak. The sandwiches came with about 2 cups of fries each and the food was prepared as ordered. The service was average speed. This was the perfect place for us to catch up with some family that came in to town. I've already got my eye on the next item I'm going to try off their menu. Cibolo Creek Brewing is the place to go when you are visiting Boerne! Let me start by saying that I no longer drink beer so I can't comment much on that, however they do have an amazing food menu which was the main reason why I came here. When you arrive you first order at the counter and for those non-beer drinkers they have a small fridge with a wide variety of other drink options. After you order, you can grab a sit anywhere you like. They have a huge outdoor sitting section in both the back and front of the restaurant. For my last visit I ordered the fried brussels sprouts and CCB wings. Both of them had a little sign that said it might take a little longer to cook, but both items came out super fast. The brussels sprouts were definitely my favorite! They are cooked in an Asian dressing that is a little sweet and packed with flavor. The wings were also cooked to perfection and equally delicious. We set our sites on this place because it seemed to have a better food menu than it's competitor nearby. You'll find a chalk menu inside with additional specials to choose from. They have plenty of seating inside, out front and in a covered beer garden out back. The ambience consists of wooden floors with furniture to match inside what appears to be an old home from 100 years ago. We were expecting table service, but this is a self-serve style. You place your own order, head to the silver ware station and sit down and wait for them to bring it to you. And yes, you'll be facing the tip screen when you check out with the credit card (or use tip jar). After I sat down I realized I did not get a receipt with the breakdown. As for the food, their wings and farro salad are very good. I thought the home fries that came with the burger were perfect and the burger was decent. I tried five of their nine beers, and I would rate them as pretty average, tame and underwhelming, but correct to style. It would've been nice to have seen more selection and some more assertive beers such as strong ales or a DIPA. If you need a sweet treat to finish off the meal, they do have gelato, but that's all. This is a great brewery off Main Street in Boerne, Texas. The exterior looks like an old home with front porch and back patio seating with plenty of inside dining space. The service was good as it is a walk up and order and they bring it out to you style service. I had an Oktoberfest beer, which was very delicious and refreshing. We went on a day the the barbecue pit was open in the back. I had the half chicken which was juicy and full of flavor and even my two-year-old daughter ate it. My wife had the chicken salad sandwich which she shared with my daughter. The french fry portion with the chicken salad sandwich was massive and more than enough to share with two or more people. Only knock is it is relatively expensive $15-$20 a plate. Beer prices by style and seasonal from 6 to 9 dollars. Overall beer, great value, but food, pricey. Will come back next trip in. read more

Food was terrible. Tried the pork skins - avoid avoid avoid. I asked if they were cooked today and the answer was 'I don't know!' Ruben sandwich smelled weird. That's all I will say. Service? I had a very enjoyable experience dining at Cibolo Creek Brewery's outdoor front patio on a cool evening! I tried the Hill Country Snack Plate and my daughter had one of four kids meal options. The snack plate offered multiple small bites to try and I really loved the artichoke dip, Gouda cheese and the pickled okra! Boerne, Texas recently received a Brew City designation and is offering a passport card to track beer sampling at four of the six Boerne breweries. The first 200 people to complete their passport will receive a Brew City t-shirt. I love that you can taste Cibolo Creek's beer before committing to one style and they offer very affordable 1/2 pour glasses! While the front patio was nice and spacious, there is also indoor seating and more outdoor seating in the back. I will definitely return! read more

Weisse dunkel. That's all you need to know. Those two words are all that matter. As long as they have weisse dunkel on the menu, no other beer is necessary and the food is just a supporting character. The beer brat was good, with good sauerkraut and mustard. The fries were pretty weak - kind of soft and limp (best part of the fries was the coarse pretzel salt on them - they'd be outstanding with that salt if they were crispy, crunchy fries). But listen to me. The weiss dunkel is absolutely fantastic!! As good as any I had in Germany. I'd come back here regularly just for that! read more

Great brewery...The beers that my wife and I got- the Boerne Blonde and the Weiss Hefeweizen- were excellent!! The Pork Skins app...ehh...I was hoping more for true "cracklins" but they were more like bagged pork rinds that were nuked. For entrees we had the Fried Chicken Sandwich and the Bier Bun...both were excellent. The mustard that they served with the Bier Bun was incredible. The French fries were also fresh cut and good. All in all, no complaints...would certainly pop back in for a beer next time in Boerne- the beer was THAT good. Take this review for what it's worth peeps! My buddy stopped on our way home from a hunting trip and I was happy we did. Friendly atmosphere and staff and a wider than expected of craft beer and food. I was nursing a hangover so got a michelada with their blonde ale. They offer a spicy option and it was great! For food, my buddy and I both got the birria tacos. They're a bit different from others I've had but still very good. The dip was more like chili imo but I still really enjoyed it. We were here on Saturday about noon. It looked like bbq was available Friday/Saturday and was worth waiting for then. We had brisket and turkey with potato salad which were all very good. Stopped by this place after a whole day of driving. Pretty popular spot located on a main street. Seems to be a very visited area by the locals as there are a lot of people walking around the whole area. We ordered a flight so we could try a little of bit of everything of their selection. My favorite was the lost mail pale ale! A little hazy which I liked and made the perfect refreshment after a long day. We decided to get food and I got the goat burger and a side of brussels. The burger was AMAZING. It was cooked perfectly and the meat so juicy and seasoned really well. The fries were also nice and crispy and salted well. The brussel sprouts were ok. Not my favorite brussels but I was hungry enough to finish them. Service was fast. They have counter service and seemed to move through the line pretty fast. Food also came out at a reasonable time. Great selection brews and they offer some deli sois menu options. We got the last two of the steak nite specials. Well worth it. I would never have guessed the pickled mustard seed would be soooo good with the steak. The main 5 beers are all worth trying and they have some crazy other options. My family was visiting Boerne, TX, and we met some friends at Cibolo Creek Brewing Company for lunch. What a DELIGHTFUL time! We were traveling with dogs, so we really appreciated the outdoor/pet-friendly seating; plenty of room, plenty of shade, and fun to see folks passing by on the sidewalk. Many thanks to Mallory for her recommendations for arrival time when I called ahead (since they don't take reservations). There was no wait at 1 pm! Ordering at the bar was quick and easy, and our food arrived after only a very brief wait. Everything we ordered was so yummy!! I had the Goat Burger with a side salad; my lunch companions had the Reuben sandwich, two beet salads, and the Best Burger with cheese (side of fries). My goat burger was extremely tasty--very flavorful, moist, and plenty of delicious toppings. The beet salads were ample and very fresh; the Reuben was classically done and tasty, and the Best Burger was--well, the BEST! I had a Dunkel draft, which was the perfect pairing with my burger, and so nice that it was local. Indoors, the restaurant is light and airy and tastefully appointed. Outdoors, every table has an umbrella, so you're shaded from the Texas sun. It was a fabulous meal and we had a fabulous time! Thank you SO much! read more

Luv, luv, luv this place! I especially like coming when the jazz bands are playing. The food is always great. The staff is always so friendly. And something I love most, the owner is ALWAYS there. I have seen him jump in and help his staff when they're struggling to keep up with the crowd and honestly, that right there is one of the biggest reasons we keep going back. Bonus, both of my kids love going also! Love that it's a place for my friends and I to hangout, a date night spot and also a family spot for us all wrapped into one. read more
